Location and courtyard
The rooms are not soundproof—you can clearly hear guests in neighboring rooms talking, as well as footsteps and furniture being moved from the room above.

I would always come back to these lively two ladies
The hotel is good and not so good. I'll start with the good. Beds are comfy and showers good. Food at breakfast and dinner buffet is very tasty. Bar area is comfortable with good cocktails and service. Pool area is nice but usual problem of people bagging sunbeds at the crack of dawn. Pool man is very helpful. Drinks service around the pool could be better and is often slow. We arrived early and waited around to check in. It got to 3.30pm and we had to get politely grumpy. We stood and were basically ignored by the manager at the reception desk until our rooms were found. Housekeeping is a little hit and miss. Missing towels and water which we had to ask for but took ages to arrive meaning one of us could not have a shower. Not great. With a few tweaks it could be so much better.
Don’t bother trying to find a sun bed. They are all taken at 7am by the staff for “special guests” who likely pay them cash to secure good seats. It’s surprising how the same couples have the same sun beds 6 days in a row.

La seule chose à laquelle nous n’étions pas préparée est les clients qui réservent leurs canapés doubles ou transats à l’avance en posant leurs serviettes pendant qu’ils font autre chose. Cette politique devrait être interdite par l’hôtel. Surtout un hôtel de ce standing, on ne s’attendait pas à voir ça en saison basse.
An amazing lounge area (Riad) with live music in the evening. The spa is great, with a really good hammam and professional massage, very clean. Good breakfast with various options. The day-time restaurant offers delicious food, and there is one more restaurant in the evening. The pool area is big, didn’t see fights for sunbeds. The rooms are comfortable.
The furniture is heavy, so moving a chair results in a lot of noise. Maybe the chairs at least need felt pads. The rooms are not very soundproof.
Siham and mouna and chokalat.
The best experience in Sofitel Royal Bay Spa, we started with the Hammam with Chokalat and it was absolutely amazing. Followed my the best massage I have ever had with Siham and Mouna. Friendly and professional. Thank you for the best experience.

We had two massages whilst away, an 'energetic massage' as a couple and I had an individual 'draining massage' (the later with Mouna).
Both massages were excellent. The spa is lovely and very relaxing; the staff all very friendly. The energetic massage was a very firm massage (not for the faint hearted) but definitely worked out all the knots and niggles.
The draining massage was much more relaxing (and includes a very nice face massage) and left me feeling really refreshed.
A few hours in the spa was a welcome addition to our holiday.
