In serious need of refurbishment. Severe lack of maintenance. Mold and mildew in the shower. Worn carpets, furniture and scuffed walls.
Not at all what you would expect of a “boutique” hotel. Check-in and check-out was cheerless and uninterested. Like we interrupted them.
Only redeeming factor was the ocean front view. But for the money would not return. Would not return. They should be embarrassed at the state of this place.
We stayed at the Lodge for a quick staycation and golf tournament. The hotel had a musty odor, likely from hurricane-related water damage. Our room had roaches, broken mirrors, dirty walls, moldy grout, and heavily worn furniture. Broken bathroom fan, dirty pillowcases, etc. While we could have overlooked these issues, a wedding reception took place directly below our balcony on Sunday night.
When we asked why we weren’t informed at check-in, staff claimed they only receive 24 hours' notice for weddings. They assured us the DJ would stop by 9:30 PM due to city noise regulations, but music continued playing in the lobby and open bar area (one floor below via an open staircase) throughout the night. I called the main resort at 4:30 AM, but the speakers weren’t turned off until 5 AM—just in time for the noise of reversing food trucks making morning deliveries to the on-site restaurant.
Management refused to offer any compensation or address the situation for our family.
This place is horrible the only good thing they have is the golf courses.
Old outdated, carpet looks filthy, walls are all chipped, furniture in rooms is terrible
They don’t know what’s going on when you call and ask questions before you arrive. Reservations had been made they could of informed us that all but 1 restaurant were closed.
Waist of my money and my vacation time
Wow, lots of negatives here. The one positive is the location on the beach - but it’s truly the only bright spot. The rooms are tired - chipped furniture, old furniture, scuffed walls - more like a motel than a nice 3 or 4 star hotel (which is what the price would suggest). The restaurant (there were only 2 open in the entire resort) has significant service issues (they forget several of our items; our drinks were left at the bar for 10 min before I finally walked over and picked them up myself; food mediocre). They don’t have room service because of Covid - it’s odd because they won’t even leave the food at your door, yet none of the guests in the restaurant where you pick up food are masked). The pools we tried had dirty, cloudy water, with pool area not maintained.
This is a hotel that feels like it will soon be shut down, and they are just letting it go because it has no future. I would avoid this place at all costs.
We traveled to Palm Coast for golf and stayed at the Lodge. Our room on the third floor had fantastic views of ocean and golf course. The room itself was seriously lacking for a resort that prides themselves on amenities.
One, no place to put your clothes! We were there for a week -two adults sharing ONE drawer. There was a closet and a few hangers but ultimately we had to live out of suitcases which was not ideal.
Two, only one chair in room to sit down on unless you used bed or an ancient lounge chair. I asked for an additional chair to be sent up but it never arrived. We ended up taking the outside deck furniture in to sit on.
Three, everything was very dated, mismatched furniture, which was useless - get rid of the large desk and put in a chest of draws. The cabinet the TV is in is huge for a 40” tv -
Lastly, there was no public place in the Lodge to sit. There was a nice restaurant and bar but other than that no lobby area.
First time visiting. Bought 2 nights deal from a third party website so decided to give it a try. The lodge has a separate check-in which was nice. Given that it only has 20 bedrooms, it was a quick process. Guy at the front desk was helpful explaining all the amenities offered on site. We got a room with balcony facing the 18th green which was awesome. Cannot beat this location. We were literally 50 yards from the beach access. Chairs/umbrella/towel service at the beach was a huge bonus.
Resort offered several amenties that we found were helpful to keep kids entertained. Mini golf (could use better maintenance but was fun), bike rental (only good for 1st hour) and fantasy pool complex was awesome.
Rooms are ok. Nothing to go crazy about. Furniture is somewhat outdated. Could use more lights in the room. Balcony is fairly big, plenty big enough for two adults.
Part of our check-in had a mini bottle of champagne. Awesome surprise!
The lodge pool is smaller but less crowded which was nice.
Overall, enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.
Everything you might want to do in a resort property you can do at the Lodge at Hammock Beach. Travel party size is irrelevant as the property easily hosted our family reunion party of 33 widely aged dispersed travelers. Swimming. Hot tubing. Indoor/outdoor activities. Bike riding. Ping pong. Tennis. Work out room. Fire pit. You-name-it inclusiveness. All at popular prices though timing is everything. As you'd expect winter is more expensive than summer. Beautiful accommodations. Lots of space. Something for everyone at any age. Do yourself the favor.
This property is beautiful. We stayed at the lodge in a room overlooking the 18th green of the golf course. It also had a great view of the ocean with the 18th fairway running along the ocean. The golf course and grounds are beautiful. The property has multiple pools including a lazy river. I visited this property with my wife and found at the main pool complex the pool at the very top was adults only. If you're going as a couple grab your lounge chairs under an umbrella by 10AM or you'll be hanging with the kids. Visiting with children you'll have plenty of other families to keep you company in the other three kid friendly pools.
The best deal for dinner is in the Atlantic Grill bar from 4 to 6PM every day. Drink specials and great appetizers including pizza's and oysters on the half shell. We had dinner this way two out of the five nights we stayed. We're planning a return visit as we enjoyed our stay.
The Lodge at Hammock Beach is old Florida beach relaxation with a hip vibe. We walked into the room and were surprised with a beautiful view of the golf course & ocean. In the morning, go the beach to collect shells or swim. Play the 18 hole golf course. Mid-day you can relax by the many pools or eat on property. Evening comes and the relaxation continues. Eat at one of the 4 restaurants or go to town. Come back for a nightcap in any of the lounges. At night, listen to the ocean waves crashing on the beach lulling you to sleep. Wonderful getaway. Have Donald assist you outside. Collin will take care of you inside. The staff is very attentive & want to assist you. Bathroom could be better lit. Room is clean comfortable. We will be visiting The Lodge again!
We had stayed at The Lodge several years ago and had enjoyed our stay very much. Returning to the area recently, we didn’t hesitate to stay here again. Our balcony room was right next to the beach overlooking the 18th green of the golf course. Couldn’t beat the view. Fresh coffee and pastries in the hallway each morning. Complimentary soft drinks. Plus really good restaurant and bar downstairs. Friendly and accommodating staff. The room was nice and very comfortable although the bathroom shower could use a re-do. In any case, would definitely stay here again.
Great place to rest. Ocean outside window view of 18 the hole on deck. Very good bed,, and comfortable. No chairs for reading or sofa. Lay in the king bed and nap away. Small 25 inch tv In cabinet.
Morning coffee pastries. Muffins. Refrig with beverages and after noon whole fruit. The Atlantic restaurant is 4 star bar. Lots of amenities. Sunday seafood buffet. Parking an issue. But go out after dinner and you will a better spot. Publix grocery on right just as you come in.
Great golf and beach action. Too cold yet first week ok of Feb. No need to go anywhere else for food. They have all the choices. Enjoyed it and would recommend it for all.
This was a lovely facility. We were on 9th floor. There was a beautiful view of the ocean. We had a 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, living area and a full kitchen. Housekeeping service was provided daily. We plan to return.

In 2007 we hired out The Lodge to get married, we booked all the rooms out and had the balcony's but did not want to stop the members so the bar and restaurant were open to them. We had the most amazing day, night and breakfast ,we also asked the corporate ladies to sit down with us and enjoy the food and night as they were fantastic. The staff were amazing and so were the members . We were going to book the Lodge out again for our 10th anniversary inviting the 50+ but looking at the place and the service since the ladies have left We cannot justify that expense and we feel it would be a tar on the original marriage. The Lodge was fantastic , what has gone up around it is a pure commercial scheme, that now takes away from the money people will spend to have something special. We will miss the lodge and are very happy to have special pictures.
We have been going to the Hammocks for almost 6 years and got married there in 2013. Each year the entire place shows more & more that it is not being maintained on any level. The pools are in terrible condition, they need resurfacing, the rooms and common areas are dirty and simply let go with chips & cracks. Only 1 of 2 jacuzzis were working on Labor Day weekend and have been that way for several months. We were offered a room by a friend that owns a unit for FREE for 1-7 nights and declined. Until this place is brought up to what it should be, we will not waste our valued time away at such a ran down venue. Disappointing does not begin to express what we feel. You actually feel conned & ripped off as the pictures on their website are in no way even a close resemblance of what is actual. Any owners should be VERY concerned as to what their monthly fees are being spent on as it is obvious no money is being put into the resort. To be revamping the lobby while the rest of the entire resort is in shambles makes ZERO sense. I would not be surprised to find in the next 1-2 years, if that long, this resort files bankruptcy.
We had booked this through Groupon and then read the reviews on this site. We were worried because there were so many negative comments. I even sent an email to the executive assistant at the hotel prior to us going to make sure everything would be good. I didn't receive a response until we had already been at the hotel for two days and were packing to leave early (even though we had paid for an additional night). The building is in complete disrepair and very disappointing the pillars that lead up to the lodge have had there lights removed and are in various states of disrepair. This makes it dangerous to try to walk at night because the lights have all been torn out. The pool at the lodge has gouges in the bottom that are very tough on your feet. There are spots of mold growth throughout the pool and the bar that the claimed was there had been shuttered. There were unruly teenagers running around and they were throwing plastic cups and rolls of toilet paper into the pool. I spent ten minutes trying to find someone to report this to and there was no one. Our room had not been cleaned well and there were "hairs" in our bed sheets. Our bathroom door would not close and the shower backed up and wouldn't drain. The tv had an issue that made the volume go from silent to blaring so you had to hold the remote constantly to correct it. We tried to get room service and the restaurant staff was less than friendly. They told us to push the cart with our dishes into the hall when we were down and they'd retrieve it. It sat the rest of the night and the entire next day with old food on it. There were soiled stains on the carpets and wine glasses left on furniture in the halls that were never picked up. The housekeeper supply room was right by our room and every morning we were woken up by loud Spanish conversations and slamming of doors.
The worst part was we tried to make sure we contacted them prior to our stay via email and telephone and they did not respond. Our telephone message was never responded to and they claim they didn't see the email because it was in the spam folder.
We lost an entire day and night that we paid for and we have no recourse.
The location and golf course can not be beat. Again we stayed at the lodge , had a great view of the ocean but the place needs TLC. We were very surprised this resort(lodge) went from 1st class to a below average experience. Deferred maintenance by the resort's new management is apparent....too bad!!
We do not plan to be back.
We have been going to The Lodge for years and have watched in deteriorate due to lack of maintenance. It is scheduled to be torn down and so things are being allowed to just deteriorate. No one should rent a room there. The restaurant is still very good and worth eating lunch or dinner.
I am here for a conference for work and booked a room at the lodge for convenience to the conference. The lodge apparently has only 20 rooms and is a 5 minute walk to the main resort which is 2 and 3 bedroom condos attached to the conference center. For $1200 for 6 nights I did not expect a dark hotel room with peeling paint and burnt out light bulbs. The view is amazing as I am right above the golf course and 100yds from the beach. The balcony would be great if it wasn't covered in bird poop, peeling paint, and I couldn't high five my neighbor. Did I mention the 10 rooms on my side of the building are directly above the garage for the golf carts? That was a fun sound to wake up to as they backed them out this morning. How about the restaurant patio that I'm sitting above? I could talk to you while you eat dinner if you would like! For the price of this hotel room, and that is all it is is a room, I expected much more. Do your self a favor and stay someplace else for your conference.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Lodge. Can't wait to return! You can see the ocean from your bed. They have a little screen you can open and listen to the waves at night. We enjoyed the pool right next to the lodge and we played at the other resort pools. The ocean and beach are gorgeous. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone! It was such a lovely relaxing getaway.
