The hotel is in need of some renovation and the breakfast is weak.
Disappointed the pool was closed!
Room was tired, very noisy from road and clanging pipes at night when tried to sleep hotel in need of some maintenance all round
Hotel exterior and room are very dated. None of the balcony doors seem to work as they have a sign on saying failed safety test. Shower didn’t work. Bar closed early we thought would be open at midnight on return from the function we went to. Swimming pool also closed due to an issue
Great stay lovely staff just a shame pool and jacuzzi were closed and we were not told about this in advance as this was why we had booked the hotel and not a travel lodge
Stayed here numerous times, staff are always pleasant and helpful,
Rooms are comfortable.
My wife & I have just enjoyed a very nice stay at Mickleover Hotel. The room was very clean & spacious. The bed were extremely comfortable, just like being at home. All of the Staff we encountered were very professional & extremely helpful & pleasant. I thought the pressure on the shower wasn't very good and the mastic around the shower controls needs renewing otherwise there may be water ingress which may be more expensive to fix. Also the trouser press in the room did not work but there was an iron & ironing board in the room. Wevery much look forward to staying at this hotel again.
Billed as one of BWs finest, this hotel falls short. Dated bedrooms, worn fittings and windows that sound open when closed add to the disappointment.
On this occasion the door system was broken which meant the staff had to open the door each time you wanted to get into the room. I must say, they did this faultlessly though and it didn’t impact the stay.
Positives- parking, good breakfast , comfy if bouncy beds, First class staff
Negatives - very noisy room, tired fittings, unnerving lift, tired bedroom from possibly a decade or more ago.
Lovely helpful staff. Changed rooms as shower had no water, next room shower drizzled and was broken in its wall fixings. Could all do with a spruce up. Really enjoyed the comfy bedroom, relaxed public area.
Pool was shut (not a problem for me).Hotel was pleasant and nothing wrong with it. Some areas could do with modernisation and/or a good clean but I am being picky. Stay was good and no complaints
Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Room is spotlessly clean if a little tired. It would have been nice to have been informed that the pool was closed before we arrived, and it’s worth noting that hotel guests don’t have to pay for the car park. Restaurant staff friendly, food is ok, wine over priced.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
The rooms were a bit tired and needed some general maintenance.
Zakia on reception was excellent and always willing to go beyond to help and be friendly.
On arrival staff were very welcoming & helpful - first impressions were favourable nice main reception area - rooms fairly big & plenty of storage & clean - however facilities very dated - extremely poor shower, carpet warn, breakfast, continental poor not much choice, drink machines poor, English breakfast average
Hotel room and hotel itself was clean and welcoming. Facilities are great and all staff were polite and very attentive.
Really enjoyable stay although wasnt expecting London prices in the bar. It was a really enjoyable stay the breakfast was kept well stocked and being able to use the pool made it even more enjoyable for the children. Highlyre
I actually enjoyed my stay here♡
Staff were lovely, very welcoming, helpful and kind.
The hotel IS a little tired, but its ok. Could do with an update, but i ve stayed in worse places.
The staff made up for what the decor lacked.
Swimming pool was a nice bonus
Excellent stay. The only suggestion I would make is there needs to be dog waste bins outside, especially with it being a dog friendly hotel.
Otherwise, everything was brilliant. We really enjoyed our stay.
Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff are very friendly, helpful and polite.
Will definitely be staying again.
Rooms were quite big, but very dated. Bathroom was clean but mold on the silicone. Plush towels. The spa pool was nice but all the other areas such as the shower, changing areas etc were quite disgusting. The lift floors had carpet which were nasty; and clumps of hair in one lift that was there for hours. Ample car parking. The staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was decent, small choices eg one type of cheese, 2 types of mini pastries, cooked breakfast was good, standard small breakfast but good. All in all, did the job for a one night stay on the way back from Alton Towers. For £60 I can’t complain except for a couple of grubby things mentioned in the review; just don’t expect much of the spa!
My stay was nice I arrived at 8pm but wasn’t allowed entry to spa facilities even though it closes at 9pm apparently last entry is 8pm even though it doesn’t state that on website,
Rooms was nice but this was a unpleasant damp smell in there think it was from the bathroom but lingering all through the room other than that had a lovely stay
Excellent hotel with friendly staff
