Location is absolutely beautiful
Nothing !
l'hotel est tres cosy a l'interieur sauf la salle a manger.
Belle salle de billard.
Service tres lent au restaurant meme pour le petit dejeuner.
The staff were very friendly
Beautiful view and pleasant staff. Everything was good.
Staff are the outstanding highlight of the hotel. Very impressed. Views from our room, across the Loch, were picture postcard. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room.
Exterior would benefit from some ornamental displays or hanging baskets that the deer can’t reach. It wouldn’t take much to make it look less stark and unwelcoming. Interior decor in general is in need of a refresh, but the staff have nothing to do with that, and they won our hearts.
Der Aufenthalt war Angenehm, die Lage des Hotels traumhaft, das Frühstück mehr als ausreichend, sehr gut und nett präsentiert. Insgesamt war das ein gelungener Aufenthalt.
Das Wetter ;-)
Amazing site, with wonderful views and great potential. Comfy bed but bathroom with shower over deep bath was difficult to use.
Sadly this hotel totally lacks atmosphere. My husband described it as grim on the outside and grim on the inside.
Very dim reception area, nothing particularly Scottish happening apart from the gorgeous carpet. Not an ounce of Scottish music flowing through the silent hallways.
We enjoyed our first dinner of scallop entree and langoustine and salad main albeit from quite a limited menu considering the advertised quality of the hotel.
Breakfast buffet was a big let down, not well presented, quite ordinary and we had to keep requesting the staff to replenish the yoghurt, confiture, milk
etc which earlier guests had depleted.
Eggs were over cooked and not well presented.
Background restaurant music sounded as if we were in a funeral parlor.
Our over all view was that management needed a big shake up and I felt the potential is there, if only it would liven up. Very disappointing considering the cost and website spiel.
Breakfast was over priced. Room was excellent but again over priced. Loved the shower and bed was comfy. The view was wonderful. Also was very clean.
The price.
The views from our room and the dining room.
The steep climb when walking up and down to hotel to the town. However, most visitors probably travel to there by car.
Amazingly friendly staff. Old traditional style rooms. All with a bathtub! Nice additional in room amenities and a fire place and posh lounge area to sit and have a drink in. Over all a super comfortable and a great place to stay.
Food was a bit overcooked at dinner. Hotel a bit dated but still really comfortable
This hotel is now of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the decor was fresh. Most of all the manager and her assistant Donald were very helpful and very friendly.
The weather
Location. Food. Staff.
Pricey. No choice of thickness of pillow.
The big highlight was the wonderful views along the loch. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was absolutely excellent
It was nobody's fault but on the evening we were there, there was a power cut from 5.45 till just after 7.00, so they were only able to offer a more limited menu!
Location overlooking Lochinver was great and staff were excellent.
Bathroom had excellent bath and shower
Food was good but limited menu and expected more seafood on it.
The building externally looks like a 1970s retirement home and internally the room decor and furnishings were very dated.
Bar area very uninviting
No one on reception when I arrived - and no bell to ring.
The room was spacious and comfortable with a great view of the coast. Lovely, quiet setting just outside the town. Excellent breakfast, with a very helpful waiter who could not do enough.
We booked in for dinner at 6.00 pm, sat at our table, and told the waitress to put in our starter order first, so that we could take our time to consider the main course. The waitress told us this was not acceptable and that we must order starter and mains together. When asked why, she said it was the chef's requirement. When we again asked her to take the starter order, she then said "I'll go away and give you more time", so that she could take the order for starters and mains together. We felt that we were not being treated with sufficient respect and dignity as paying guests, so we got up and left.
Great location with amazing view from room. Breakfast good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Really liked getting small jug of fresh milk for tea when we arrived.
