I just completed a 15-day trip through six African countries and stayed at numerous hotels along the way. African Pride Melrose Arch was, without question, the best hotel of the trip—and honestly one of the best hotels I can remember staying at in quite some time.
The property itself is beautiful, our room was amazing, breakfast was genuinely next-level, and dinner was excellent as well. But what truly made the stay stand out was the service. Every interaction felt warm, polished, and genuinely attentive. It seems clear that this is either a reflection of outstanding training or an exceptional hotel culture—probably both.
A few team members deserve special recognition: Prince, the bellhop, was welcoming and helpful from the start. Prince, our dinner server—a different Prince—provided fantastic service during dinner. Lizwi—I hope I have the spelling right—made breakfast especially enjoyable. Nathaniel, another bellhop, was equally friendly and attentive. And most of all, Zinny at the front desk was simply outstanding. She was next-level: warm, capable, thoughtful, and memorable in a way that genuinely elevated the entire stay. I would gladly return to this hotel even if Zinny were the only staff member I interacted with.
It is rare for a hotel to get every part of the experience right: the room, the food, the setting, and—most importantly—the people. African Pride Melrose Arch did exactly that. I would recommend it without hesitation and look forward to returning.

What a fabulous hotel. It is my favorite place to stay! The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful and they really go above and beyond the call of duty. It really feels like a home away from home. The rooms rooms are extremely comfortable. It is immaculately clean and so quiet. I always have a great nights sleep!

I came to Johannesburg on August 18th for my birthday. I stayed at this beautiful hotel. It's location could not have been more perfect for me since I was a solo traveler. There are a lot of restaurants and shops near the hotel so food is definitely not a problem. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with it's boutique style. The rooms were very spacious and clean. There are also two restaurants inside the hotel. The Auduna restaurant was my favorite. The staff recognized me as a regular. The amazing staff were very professional. They made you feel right at home. They were able to answer any questions that you had about what to see. Dingaan and Nathaniel along with so many others were very accommodating. Dingaan arranged a special birthday treat for me in my room. The waiter, Marsello, at Aduna was always so very generous along with all the other staff. Whenever I return back to Johannesburg I will definitely be staying here.
