Pros:

Excellent hotel. Great staff at reception, housekeeping.anf cafe & restaurant. Excellent hot & cold breakfast selection.
We were staying five nights on a City break so we paid to get a corner room as it is slightly larger and it was worth it.
We always choose a hotel that can be booked on late cancellation/pay at hotel and a good breakfast facility. The Riu offers all.
With airport cancellations, particularly when travelling from a smaller regional airport, it is worth it.

Cons:

The cafe was lovely but the menu was very limited especially given their restaurant is only open for breakfast. We would have happily settled for chicken/ burgers and chip/ pasta type meals after a long day at the tourist sites.

Everything but the safety

Cons:

We had a fire alarm go off in the night and the staff didn’t follow any safety protocols of wearing vests or directing the guests outside. They also reopened without saying anything to anyone. People could have died if it was a real fire.

Me levantaron 6 am con una alarma sonando, y otro día a las 9 am sonaba la misma alarma y me hicieron desalojar el hotel. No me dieron explicación de porque pasó esto. Esta de muy mal gusto todo eso ya que estaba descansando

The staff are fabulous!

The staff were wonderful- they really helped us out with the car parking, transport and getting checked in quickly when we needed to get somewhere quickly from the hotel.

Pros:

Muy bien ubicado, a 10 minutos caminando de la estación de Pilimco. También pasaban buses cerca. El barrio es muy tranquilo. Para el estándar de Londres la habitación es relativamente amplia. Estaba muy limpio. Destaco sobre todo el desayuno muy completo y rico.
