hotel looks nice from the outside… but right when you walk through those doors the front desk people are nasty and rude they had multiple problems when checking in not only with my family but ever other family i knew staying there we walked into our room with there being dirty towels in the bathroom AND staying there in july i would hope for a nice cool down but no we tried turning on our AC and it wouldn’t work/ turn on us realizing in the morning the electric was out in the open and not connected and the same with others. We also received an email saying the restaurant would be closed due to repair which is fine but we were also told there would be a continental breakfast but they were to understaffed to be open
Power loss , no generator, Could not stay, checked out
Comfortable bed
The location is good. Close to Downingtown and West Chester where my family resides.
Absolutely no amenities. Everything is and has been being renovated for 2 years. No bar, restaurants no wine no nothing.
Plumbing in bathroom needs to be fixed. Bathtub leaked constantly.
We couldn’t go swimming cause someone vomit in the pool, staff said they didn’t have anyone to clean it so they closed for the weekend. Also I had to get garbage bags from the front desk because my room didn’t have any in none of the garbage cans just bare. Lastly, you get charged for a breakfast that’s have to be microwave also all the handicapped parking was unavailable
What a dump. Had issues at check-in since the clerk said one thing. Manager a few days later said clerk made a mistake so it was a teachable moment. That teachable moment cost me money.
The room had a heavy musty smell entire time. The AC does not go below 68 in room and it struggled at that temp. The balcony and two chairs were covered in bird dripping so made it unusable. Oh and the 1980 combo tv stand and and desk were leaning against each other since they had clearly been broken and basically taped together. I check out days ago and luggage still has a musty smell.
The lounge for elite members was a joke. Upon checking in the clerk as I if I knew the restaurant has been closed. It is listed as open on website so how would I know. He said there would be grab and go breakfast and snacks at night. Grab and go breakfast consistently of a frozen Jimmy Dean biscuit that u had to go microwave. Bowls of cereal but no milf was anywhere in the lounge. Also a carton of muffins from the local supermarket. This was the same all four days. The muffins were same container each day.
The longer was supposed to open at 6 at night. First two nights it didn’t open until after 630. It’s shouldn’t have bothered. It was same bowl of cereal with no milk and a fridge of OJ and pineapple juice. No water the first night. No soda. And no evening snacks.
The 2am fire alarm is clearly not the properties fault. Would have been nice though if staff came over to check on the guests standing in large group instead of going to sit in their car.
By far the absolute worst Marriott property I’ve stayed at. Not even close second. Can’t believe will put their name on this property. Complete lack of health and safety protocols. Staff who clearly look down on guests and did not address any concern. Complete waste of money. Probably cost me more mowny since luggage may have to go with musty smell atill lingering. Also the copay for doctor visit. What a coincidence to be in musty smelly room and also clearly no cleaning in lounge and I get a respiratory infecttion days after leaving. Thanks Marriott.
I stayed at this Sheraton for one night during a multiple day business trip to the Philadelphia and New Jersey area.
I did not read the Trip Advisor reviews prior to booking and I obviously should have.
There is plenty of free parking and the grounds were well maintained. Upon check-in, I was told that the restaurant was closed. If I had checked the reviews, I guess I would have known this, but there was no other indication when I booked that this was the case. The Bonvoy app certainly did not mention it. The hotel sent me multiple emails prior to my arrival encouraging me to upgrade my room (for a fee). You would think they would have taken this opportunity to inform me that the restaurant was closed (and based on the reviews here, has been for almost a year). I had a very long day of both flying and driving and I was really looking forward to a quick dinner at the hotel restaurant. I did end up eating at the nearby Outback which is whole different level of despair.
The lobby area itself appeared clean and cozy although a bit dark.
I was given a king bed room on the second floor. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed the air conditioning was not running. This during an unprecedented 85 degree heat spell in the Philly region. When I called the front desk, she offered to send an engineer up to look at it. I travel for a living. I know that can take much longer than expected. When I asked if any other rooms were available, she did offer to switch me to a king bed room on the first floor.
I retrieved my new room key from the front desk and headed to my new room. The air conditioning was running like a champ, although the thermostat cover on the wall was ripped off. The bathroom was exceptionally small. The room did have a small fridge and coffee maker. I have to admit, the bed was very comfy. The room generally seemed clean, but the windows had a weird white film on them.
One of the most important things to me when I travel is the fitness center. The fitness center is open 24/7, which I appreciated for my morning workout. There were 3 Life Fitness ellipticals (which was a pleasant surprise), 3 treadmills, and 2 bikes (one recumbent), plus assorted free weights and benches. The elliptical worked great. When I went to use the recumbent bike for my cool down, I found that it was not working. There were plenty of towels in the room, but no disinfectant wipes to be found.
I was not able to access the internet from my computer during the morning of my stay. It appeared to connect to the guest WiFi, but never took me to the sign in page.
The bathroom had a tub/shower combo, which I get; guests with kiddos need a tub. The tub surface was slick to the point that I kept a firm grip on the grab bar while showering. This made showering exciting if nothing else. A simple $2 bath mat could fix this issue.
When I went to dry my hair, I looked everywhere in the room and no hair dryer was to be found. I called the front desk and Truman offered to bring one to the room, which he cheerily did within three minutes. Hooray for Truman. How you put up with working for an establishment with so many flaws is impressive.
There were paint chips noticeable on door frames and throughout the building. Normally I don't care if there are paint chips (stuff happens), but this just seemed indicative of the general state of mismanagement at this hotel.
On the plus side, there were plenty of outlets at the desk area and on the bedside nightstand.
Unfortunately, except for the staff, this hotel has too much bad and ugly outweighing the good.
Facility is under construction and Marriott failed to notify those booking. No bar. No restaurant. No coffee. Nothing. Rooms are dated
The hotel itself was fine
No complementary breakfast. She told us we has to go out to get breakfast.
The white horse tavern that they have at the hotel wasn't open so we couldn't order anything to eat we had to doordash something to eat. Paying for a place to stay and really cant enjoy ur stay is upsetting
Indoor pool
Restaurant was closed, no breakfast
They could have let me know before booking that restaurant was closed, i would have chosen another hotel
Room was clean but needed small repairs and general maintenance upkeep. All Restaurants are currently closed.
Carpet was filthy. Wallpaper was peaking.
Check In Staff and housekeeping was good.
Was notified late into the week before my stay that there were minor renovations being done and there would be NO Breakfast/ bar available for our stay stay. Very inconvenient and expensive $450 for 2nights when those services were not available. No discount offered. Beds were not great. Rude customer service phone rep when I asked to switch from a King to a Double beds. very disappointed in my stay. Will NOT use this hotel again for Homecoming weekend
Friendly staff, nice clean room and comfy bed. Both the sink and toilet was clogged and it was INCREDIBLY loud while trying to sleep. If there was more insulation and better pillows I would have felt better. Hearing the noise in the hall very late into the night and early morning kept me up which was so frustrating. We only stayed the night so the clogged drains were workable. If we stayed longer it would've been a problem for sure!
Nearby to why we were there.
Restaurant and kitchen were closed for renovations. Would have been nice to know that when we made the booking.
very clean, very friendly staff
Great location, very quiet and comfortable rooms
Kitchen was closed for renovations, but staff were friendly about it and price was better than usual
