Noisy carnival next door still raging 3.45am
Pros:

It’s now 3.48am in the morning and the carnival opposite my room is still raiging on! The hotel reception said it would be finished by 1.30am ??? It’s on till Sunday as well and I fly home Sunday. Both the hotel and my tour operator failed to mention we would have sleep deprivation while this concert was on. Don’t come here mid March !

Even the weather didn't spoil it!
Pros:

The location of this hotel is excellent, close to the beach, near enough to the shops bars and restaurants. Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of choice. Staff were only too happy to assist with choices and service. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was wonderful and we were treated so well as it was my husbands birthday, thoroughly spoilt. The lounges and bars were comfortable and the staff were attentive and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Reception and guest services staff were professional and great. Altogether a thoroughly amazing holiday experience.

It remains the best hotel in Lanzarote.
Pros:

This was our sixth / seventh time to stay here and that probably sums it up. The attention to detail is what makes this hotel stand out and is the reason why we keep returning there..
I have reviewed this hotel after each of our visits and each time it is the same outcome - A wonderful experince with great staff and a lovely atmosphere. It is still in our opinion the best hotel in Lanzarote..

Blocked view from balcony
Pros:

Too many of your balcony’s have there view of the sea blocked by trees. Many of these trees are on the hotel grounds and are within your control. While not a hotelier many for your guest would enjoy being able to see the coast.

Very Good but not Exceptional
Pros:

This was our first stay at Princesa Yaiza Hotel. We stayed 8 nights in a Sea view room. Our accessibility and mobility needs meant we wanted a room that would make access to the pool and restaurant & bar areas as easy as possible. The room allocated offered a good compromise and met our requirements.

We stayed half board. Buffet breakfast & dinner were both very good. The standard of food offered at dinner was as good as any we have experienced at a hotel buffet. Yaiza had a different dinner theme every evening which we really enjoyed.

We thought there was a separate Family Block with its own restaurant but perhaps this was closed and explained why there were alot of young children in Yaiza even later into the dining service hours. The nearby post dinner salon bar turned into an evening childrens entertainment spot.

Dinner service was inconsistent however. Maria, in Yaiza restaurant, was very attentive and provided a high standard of table service. When we sat in other areas service was sometimes poor. On one evening we were largely ignored, finished plates just left. The waiters seemed far more interested in their mobile devices than their customers. I should state this was the exception, rather than the norm. Overall, all staff were friendly and attentive.

What we didn't fully understand was why the transfer of the dinner allowance to the a la carte restaurants was limited to 25 Euros when the buffet charge was considerably more. Don Giovanni restaurant isn't part of the dining transfer arrangement.

The location of the hotel is excellent and we made extensive use of the wheelchair hired via the hotel. The chair was available from the time of arrival. From our room it was easy to navigate the wheelchair down to the promenade level. The hotel is ideally situated to walk to the modern marina or into Playa Blanca town. The town provided good shelter from the breezy wind constantly blowing across the hotel's pool areas.

The experience at check in was efficient with no waiting. We were provided with all the key information and offered a glass of fizz. We were however expected to make our own way to our room, which was a long walk from reception. Given we had hand luggage and a wheelchair to push I asked for assistance, which was given,
Based on experiences of similar hotels we have been used to being escorted to our room, signposted to the main public areas and given a quick tour of our room's features.

From an accessibility standpoint, the hotel was step free and generally easy to navigate. The hotel has numerous elevators. There was however an uneven inclined and cobbled surface to navigate from our room on the 2nd floor to the buffet restaurants on the same floor, which was out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. This section of flooring wasn't suitable for wheelchair use.

Our suite was large with a huge amount of wardrobe space. The room and all spaces were very clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a nespresso machine, fridge, kettle and microwave and a good sized sitting area. Drinks were replenished daily and I was given fresh milk. There was some inflexibility in not being willing to swap the decaf coffee pods for caffeinated pods.

Our terrace had 2 comfy loungers, with cushions, and was ideally situated for morning sunshine. The bedroom area of the suite had a window that facing onto the corridor. The room was quite dark even during daylight hours. we relied on artificial light alot.

The hotel Wi-fi was erratic.

The hotel was peaceful and sleep quality was generally good. However we did hear some work noise around 6am on some days and coincidentally on the morning Isla de Lobos restaurant, which was situated close to our room, was closed there was no disturbance whatsoever.

Due to the inclement weather we couldn’t make extensive use of the pool area but we did think the small spacing between the loungers would make it feel claustrophobic during peak visitor times.

We booked a private transfer service via the hotel to & from the airport. The cars were punctual. The drivers were attentive in assisting us to and from the car, working with the Airport’s assistance team.

Overall, very good, just about value for money and we will probably return and hopefully in better weather.

Poor weather
Pros:

Our holiday was spoiled by the unusual poor weather late February and early March which was very cloudy, windy and cool with heavy rain at times. The hotel is designed for warm weather so does not perform as well when it's not so good. This was the only downside to our holiday.

No concessions to the bad weather.
Pros:

This hotel would be lovely in warm balmy weather but they make absolutely no concessions to hurricane weather. Even the bedroom corridors are open to the outside. La Hacienda is not a Mexican buffet. That was christened 'the aviary' by a fellow guest who, strangely enough, disliked having bird-droppings in his cornflakes. (Because it is entirely open - but very popular with families who queued up yo get in) The Buffett Yaiza prioritizes giving choice to a few demented individuals who enjoy eating breakfast in a hurricane to the rest of the normal people who would prefer hot to have a howling gale blowing over there already cold breakfast. One good point is that there are plenty of English TV channels (although the connection is not 100% but the hurricane wind could be something to do with that). House keeping and Room Service staff need to be better trained. I don't know what the extra 'L' on the 5* is for. It certainly is not for Luxury.
Investigate your meal arrangements. For B&B guests, buffet dinner at €57pp plus wine and water is not cheap (although the quality is good) and they don't do deals for 3 or more nights like other 5* hotels in Playa Blanca do.

Simply the Best.
Pros:

We have stayed here twice now and the hotel is just exceptional. We were met off the coach by friendly staff who took our luggage for us and were given a glass of fizz while checking in. Enormous room with balcony and view. Bed turned down twice a day with chocolates left on the pillows on an evening. Staff were enormously friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to hire a car. They had a chap on site who did it for us. All insurance included, car delivered to hotel, couldn't have been easier. Had a great stay and if we return to Playa Blanca won't stay anywhere else.

Very enjoyable stay and would recommend
Pros:

Just heading home after a week here and although the weather was somewhat disappointing the hotel wasn't. Our Junior Suite Seaview room was everything we wanted it to be and we found the rest of the hotel met our needs and standards even if in some areas it was a little chilly but no doubt with higher outside temperatures this would be welcomed. We found the breakfast buffet excellent and the staff everywhere friendly. We would recommend this hotel, it's location and hope to return.
