Categories

Cleanliness
8
Generally reported as clean in many reviews, but several comments note old/dirty hallway carpets, a musty smell in one room and an isolated stain on a bathroom door handle, lowering the score slightly.
Service
9.2
Service is frequently praised (multiple mentions of very helpful staff and standout reception staff—Steven highlighted several times). A small number of comments mention staff being a bit offhand, but overall service is a strong positive.
Location
9
Location repeatedly described as excellent or perfect for visiting the area; reviewers value the setting and convenience.
Room Quality
8
Rooms are often described as spacious with comfortable beds and useful features (hooks, luggage space), but issues include aging carpets, occasional musty odor, some bathroom repair needs and initial poorly placed rooms near laundry.
Amenities
8.6
Breakfast, pool/hot tub and communal features (outdoor gas fire table) are appreciated; small pool and occasional room placement near laundry are minor drawbacks.
Value for Money
7.6
Mixed perceptions: many find the stay satisfactory for the price but at least one review explicitly calls it overpriced and some point to dated carpeting and small pool as negative value factors.
Food and Beverage
9
Breakfast receives strong praise across reviews (variety, good options, exceptional in some reports), justifying a high score.
Overall Experience
7.8
Overall sentiment is positive with many happy guests citing comfort, good breakfasts and friendly staff, tempered by complaints about dated carpeting, occasional cleanliness issues and small amenities like the pool.

Great location at a clean and lovely hotel. Book with Confidence.
Pros:

Breakfast was surprisingly good. Plenty of choice. Loved the oats and the eggs. Room was super comfy. And you know what? The place for the suitcases and all the extra hooks were great.

Cons:

They put me next to the huge laundry room at first and I asked to be moved. They sort of resisted. But relented, ultimately. Wish they had had never put me in such a poorly located room to begin with. I could hear a bit through the walls.
