suggest having a pump soap at the sink instead of using the bar soap.
Prior to our stay, I contacted the hotel and specifically requested a room in the main building, as it is the only building equipped with an elevator. I was travelling with my mother, who has mobility issues, and this accommodation was essential. During a phone conversation, Kim assured me that the booking had been updated and that my request had been accommodated. Had this not been possible, I would have cancelled the reservation and made alternative arrangements.
Upon arrival, however, I was informed that the requested room was not available, despite the prior confirmation. The receptionist's attitude was unprofessional and discourteous. She stated that the hotel does not guarantee room placement in the main building, directly contradicting the assurance I had received before arrival.
To make matters worse, we were assigned a basement-level room adjacent to the parking lot that required navigating multiple stairs to access. Given my mother's mobility limitations, this made reaching the room difficult and physically painful for her. The room also offered very little privacy, as people parking their vehicles could easily see directly into it. As a result, we were unable to keep the windows open without compromising our privacy.
This experience was particularly disappointing because the accessibility concerns had been clearly communicated in advance, and I had received explicit confirmation that appropriate accommodations would be provided. The hotel's failure to honor this commitment caused significant inconvenience and discomfort during our stay.
Fantastic location, great food at the bar/lounge
Bar area could have been larger, it was full. The hotel is a little disjointed in the adjoining building. Thank goodness the porter helped us locate our room
Excellent location and well-themed hotel
Some facilities need updating. Eg we had a broken toilet seat. Some rooms don’t have lift access.
The vintage respect. The ambiance.
The main building hallways to the rooms were a bit overwhelming - felt like walking through a nightmare. Too much sameness.
Very central, elegant furnishings, warm and helpful service.
Initially a bit stuffy
We had anticipated a quaint and charming facility and that's exactly what we experienced.
Nothing really.
The staff is friendly, helpful, and personable. The room was beautiful. I loved the rose pn my pillow!
Très bel hôtel, bien situé, chambres très confortables.
Le prix est relativement élevé par rapport aux prestations proposées. Le personnel pourrait être plus chaleureux.
Excellent staff and always a really enjoyable experience. We frequent Niagara on the lake a few times a year and stay exclusively at The Prince of Wales. The staff are what make the experience! A beautiful Vintage hotel in the hear of town. Super accommodating and great food!
Wall paper is a challenge from the minute you put it up. It does not become any less so as it ages. :) The rooms are beautiful. We will be back.
