Just returned from an absolute wonderful stay at this place. Such a beautiful building decorated very tastefully .our room was very comfortable and spotless. The bar area and restaurant were also beautiful as was the food and drink. The staff are superb and very polite nothing is a problem. We will be returning very soon .
Family birthday meal at this lovely hotel restaurant
Plenty of choice from the Sunday menu and the other days look very tasty as well
Special mention to the staff
Lewis Jess David and Jordan for making mums day special
My wife was suffering from a back problem made worse by the car journey to Stamford. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable.
We will certainly return. An excellent few days in a very attractive town.
The bar was very busy as it was December but we had this great bar staff, will. He was very attentive. Poured great drinks! Only downside was the music wasn't loud but maybe that's my issue 🤣✌🏼 Will could not do enough!
Great food , good service, lovely setting and Xmas decorations, would be 5 stars but it’s over priced in my opinion which is a shame.
After being turned away from paten and co next door, they suggested we go to the crown. Sunday lunch was very dry and put me off eating. I hardly ate any of it. Paten and co is £30 for 2 for a chicken roast dinner for two with all the trimmings, the crown (next door) used to be worth the extra money but their Sunday lunch (£23 per person) was dry and put me off eating. They took the pork off the bill which was very considerate and offered a free round of drinks but I won’t return for food again. It used to be worth the extra money.
We booked for a special dinner as my friends and I only get together once a year. I ordered pork belly but when it came it was a thick portion of jelly fat and a small portion of dry meat, so not well cooked
Just the best time from helpful & welcoming Hannah on reception to the Beautiful room (no.8) Sunday lunch was delicious even though it was a very busy time staff were great. Had a lovely freshly made cocktail in the evening. Great choices for breakfast. Hotel was tastefully decorated. Thoroughly recommend this hotel & Stamford as a great few days away
Good room, clean and comfortable. Shower in bathroom was fabulous - no wet floor which is unusual! The downside for us was the service at dinner and breakfast. Waited 20 mins for bottle of wine to be advised by the waiter when we chased that he had to go into the bar as it was busy! Waited 40 mins for our fruit and porridge at breakfast and a further 20 mins for poached eggs. Other tables seemed to have priority at breakfast. Free parking was a bonus and the location of the hotel was definitely a plus.
Excellent, lovely room, food, and great staff. We have stayed many times, its home from home, highly recommended. Sunday sleepover is a great deal
We unwittingly visited all 3 of the Knead group properties in Stamford (download the App to collect points). The others are Patens bar, next door and the Tobie Norris pub - ex RAF Club apparently, both of which are full of character and charm, with charming folk running them as a bonus.
This is our second time at The Crown, and it was the only place I wanted to stay, secure parking, lovely interior designed rooms, top quality food and bevs, but best of all the professional, warm and friendly folk that run and manage the place.
The owners are to be congratulated as they have attracted, trained and inbued their staff with the best of hospitality values.
I am already finding another reason to visit this delightful and "Proper English" small Town and will chose The Crown again. We visited The George which we also have considered, it is impressive and quirky, but not enough to get us out of The Crown.
Thanks and well done.
We had a truly lovely stay at The Crown Hotel in Stamford. Our cozy double room was beautifully appointed, with a comfortable bed and all the thoughtful extras you’d hope for. The standout feature was the bathroom — modern, spacious, and equipped with a digitally controlled walk-in shower that felt wonderfully luxurious.
The hotel itself is furnished to a high standard throughout, blending character with comfort in a way that made us feel instantly at home. Breakfast was a delight, offering a wide range of options to suit every taste, and we were especially impressed by the warm and attentive service from James, who made our morning feel extra special.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-catered stay in the heart of Stamford
The Crown Hotel is situated in Stamford town centre. The staff were welcoming and very helpful through out our stay. The decor is both elegant and quirky and a good selection of food was on offer at breakfast time. We only had one lunch but it was really good and tasty. We ate in the restaurant 3 nights in a row and the food was of excellent quality and the portion sizes very generous. Our room was warm, very clean and comfortable and serviced on a daily basis. We look forward to paying a return visit in the spring/summer when we can take advantage of the lovely outside terrace. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this lovely hotel and Stamford.
Had a family birthday meal and was very disappointed. I had the cod dish with chorizo and peas. The piece of cod was tiny and the puree was very bland. Quite tasteless in fact. If you are going to charge these prices you need to deliver quality !
Lovely overnight stay and breakfast.
Staff lovely - receptionist so helpful .
Parking was a godsend but could better signposted.
Crown has a nice outside area and is very stylish decorated.
Stay was great - we were in Townhouse.
Only criticism was mirror in bathroom . Ideal for most by being 5ft 1in could not use !!!
Style over substance in my opinion. The small room we had was in the gables of an outbuilding of sorts (called the cottage) so we could not stand upright at all. The ceiling is made of reclaimed timber which i found unpleasant to have it that close above the bed, it made the room claustrophobic and oppressive. It was dark and dingy, even in broad daylight you had to use lighting to read.
The room was spotlessly clean, along with the bathroom. The bath was very nice.
We stayed two nights … had a standard breakfast in the bar on both mornings which was average. We did not book dinner there, based on the standard of breakfast.
The staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly, I didn't feel they really cared about their guests.
On checkout the receptionist asked us if we had enjoyed our stay…I mentioned that it was not great staying in a dark room that you could not even stand up in, for the price that was charged (£440) … she was nonplussed and said she would pass our feedback on.
We will not be returning.
The crown is a lovely old building set in the centre of Stamford with all shops and restaurants on your doorstep, the hotel itself is very nice clean and well decorated the only downside is it's a bit pricey with drinks and food.
The breakfast is good but not explained when you first sit down about confusing on first morning to be honest as most hotels explain about tea/coffee, juice, continental, toast, and full English etc your just given the menu and have to left alone to work out what's what.
Stamford itself is a bit expensive but you would expect that from a beautiful well to do English town,
The pub next door omg a pint of Guinness and a large glass of wine
........ wait for it.......£21😲 but on the whole a very nice stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Crown. Staff were super friendly, great menu choices and both the main courses that we ordered were absolutely perfect. The partridge was cooked beautifully and the sauce was to die for. Great portion sizes and excellent value for money.
We stayed in the "Hayloft" which was quirky but beautifully presented
I absolutely loved my stay at this gorgeous little hotel. A warm and friendly welcome, easy parking, a lovely room, a perfect location, and an amazing breakfast! I would say one of the best breakfasts I have had. Staff couldn’t do more to make the stay any better. Would highly recommend this place, whether it’s for a romantic getaway, or business - you will not be disappointed.
