Great location in the heart of an eccentric Houston night life.
The lack of amenities.
I would not recommend staying here. I’m not a person who cares if a hotel looks dated but there were significant issues during my stay.
The hotel certainly had issues accommodating people after the storm. I showed up at noon and was advised that there would be no early check-in. Cool, completely understand and was told to come back at 4pm. I come back a little before 4pm and not enough rooms were ready. They told me to come back. I inquired if a room were to become available how would I get to it without getting pushed to the back of the line. They eventually created a list. At 4:45 I got into my “clean room”. On the surface it looked fine but it smelled horribly like someone had a bowel movement (did not smell like cleaning products which makes me think they quickly wiped down the surfaces and put the same bedding back in place). I should’ve known that this was the start of a bad hotel stay but I didn’t have time to argue. I instantly turned down the temperature in the room and the room went from smelling like a bowel movement to musty/moldy smell.
The next morning I get up to shower, and my shower only had one temperature, scolding hot. After 15 minutes, I called down to the front desk and they advised me that the hotel does turn off the cold water valves sometimes. They did fix it quickly and gave me 5000 points for inconvenience.
I take a shower and the hotel room is uncomfortable humid. Luckily I had some place to be and left. I came back later in the day and as soon as I get back, I got walked with a musty smell again. Shortly there after, my sinuses and throat start bothering me. I leave to go outside and I’m fine again.
The next morning, I go to take a shower and once again it only has one temperature. It was a little hot to be comfortable but tolerable. I didn’t call this time because I’m beyond frustrated.
As I’m trying to do work in my hotel room, I’m feeling worse and worse. Due to the smells, the piping issues, I do not feel comfortable drinking tap water so I’ve been drinking bottled water the entire time.
I’m leaving this hotel with a fever feeling very sick and I do largely blame the air quality of the place for my illness.
Not the worse place I’ve ever stayed at but the first time I felt the need to write a review for the first time to warn others from coming here.

The location was good being it was right across rhw street from a building with beautiful art.
There were a lot of homeless people near the building. Especially at night, near the place that rents the scooters.
Stayed one night although wished I could of / would of stayed longer. Great location. Took Metro Bus from airport direct to Convention Center drop-off point and short walk to hotel.
Beautiful looking building and in very nice area of downtown. I was checked in by Ashley, who put me in a very nice room. Quiet, which lead to good night sleep.
All the Courtyard associates I came in contact with were all very personable and friendly. Already mentioned Ashley, although did not catch her name, but young lady working breakfast counter was also extremely nice.
Thanks for a very enjoyable stay.
