My husband and I had a great time at Meliá Cozumel. Gerardo our Concierge was amazing and explained everything we needed to know perfectly and professionally. From check in to checkout we had no issues at the resort. Location was great and views were incredible. The Level Room we had was beautiful and walked right out to the beach. The beach and pool Concierges Alejando and Diego are the best. They always checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. I really liked the food at the à la carte restaurants and at the buffet. We would definitely stay again.
Executive chef Alan cooked special for us . Catch of the day Maji Mahi. Excellent!
Pool bar
Nothing it was amazing
Room was not as pictured in reservation process. Junior suite pictured as brightly lit and light furniture. Instead the furniture was old, mismatched dark wood. Robes were dingy, thin and tattered, sheets were pilled. Staff were great - very friendly and helpful. Food in buffet was ok. But dinner restaurants were not anything special. In fact, in some cases, I would rather have had the buffet food. Desserts were the same as the buffet desserts. The beach and pools were nice, hotel lobby and bars were also nice. However, the water there was not good for snorkeling. I would pick a different hotel next time.
La comida es muy buena, se nota que no es solo un buffet.
Relación precio calidad, ciertas cosas puedes optar si eres level solamente y creo que debería ser un desde, como por ejemplo batas.
Excellent staff constantly predicting our needs and delivering services with warmth and professionalism. The entire staff was terrific, but we were extremely impressed by Diego, Daniel, Justo, Alejandro, Adrian and Jeremy.
This is an amazing resort. My drinks were always full. The staff were amazing with our kids and with us (the adults). For an all inclusive, Melia sets the bar high!
we stayed her for our 20 year anniversary. We were so excited to stay at the Melia until we got there and saw all the STINKY seaweed that was collecting on the beach. The stay was excellent however our initial room had a big side gap in our room which allowed air to come in and I got bit by insects. The buffet was the worst! We had yogurt and brought in my own berries and granola. Food was cold. The Fish restaurant meal wasn't good. We're from San Diego so we're used to good food. If you're from a small city or State, your taste buds might be okay with the food. The cocktail mixers were gross too. They tasted like they had sweet and low in it. I had to also buy my own cocktail mixer. So disappointing since it was our 20 year anniversary trip. But like I said, the staff was super nice and amazing!! !'
Everything was very nice. The entertainment was less exciting than other Malia’s stay. The food was OK at the buffet, but the reservation restaurants were very good. But a five day stay only allowed for two restaurant reservations. Wi-Fi service was in and out, but not dependable. We lost hot water on two occasions once for 24 hours and we could not shower before dinner or before bed or in the morning after being on the beach. We were offered to use the showers in a different building, but it was late and I didn’t want to leave my child or go to another building.
Our second visit to Melia, beautiful property, everything is spotless. Room was cold and bed was nice, slept like a baby. The employees are amazing, any thing you ask for they are on top of it. The only thing disappointing was the food. It was just meh, nothing special. In the ‘specialty’ restaurant our dessert option was cheesecake. It was a 2x2 white cake with shredded Parmesan cheese on top. Not even kidding.
On to another Cozumel property for next visit.
Every thing.
Locwtion
Amazing! We have stayed at Melia hotels before and they never disappoint. The staff is kind, courteous and responsive.
This was our first time traveling with our kid and he took advantage of the Kidsdom activities. Sussy, was great with him and he enjoyed the extra age based activities.
I recommend upgrading to "The Level," as the perks are just a bit better.
The resort itself was nice enough. We enjoyed the food at the buffet; à la carte restaurants were average. The problem we had with our visit (3/22-3/28) was the resort’s inability to have the sargassum removed. The beach was entirely inaccessible for our entire stay (from Sunday to Saturday morning). Most days there were not more than 3 people working at removal, and they were hauling the sargassum away in single wheelbarrows. They did have a small trailer hauling waste away occasionally but not always. We were told that the sargassum would be removed and the beach would be accessible by Wednesday. However, on only a small section of the beach could we actually see the water hitting the shore, and this was Saturday morning. For some reason, the remaining sargassum was especially malodorous, so it seemed to us that the resort should do whatever was necessary to ensure guests had the experiences as they were advertised. Most of the shoreline remained inaccessible for our entire trip. We loved the beaches of Cozumel, which was why we stayed here; however, we paid for two separate excursions to be able to access the beach. The fault lies not with the resort staff or the minimal people charged with removing the waste. We felt that the hotel should have hired 20 or 30 more people to haul it out at a much, much faster pace, so the guests could enjoy the beach as advertised. Minimal efforts by management definitely impacted our stay. For this, we would not return to this resort.
We went for spring break, wanting to snorkel and enjoy the calm beaches. Had there not been a seaweed bog it would have been a great experience. Hotel is in the older side. pricing is appropriate. Erika at the front desk was great to work with.
Terrible food, musky hotel room with no air conditioning for 2 full days, my partner lost weight , due to no suitable meals. Nice beach. Spent one evening walling from lounge and smoke pit through 30cm of sewer/run off water. Days of smelling sulfur from seagrass on beach...another nasty smell to deal with.
We have just returned from another fabulous stay at the Meliá. If you are looking for a smaller clean resort with fabulous staff this resort is perfect for you.
We have stayed here many, many times and have always been very happy.
We saw some nice improvements in the buffet area with a larger variety of options and the food was always hot which can be an issue at some AI’s.
We always upgrade to The Level service and are so thankful we did that again.
Huge thank you to Alfonso, our Level concierge who took care of us each and every day.
A special shout out to Diego our Pool Concierge who never let my margaritas run dry. This old lady appreciates you!!
Eduardo, it was a pleasure visiting with you and hope to see you again in the future.
We will definitely be back!!
Great staff, super helpful and food was really good
The bed was too small and pillows were poor quality
Beautiful with fantastic views.
