Loud disturbing music
Pros:

A night club opposite the hotel is belting loud music through the night till the wee hours of morning and the hotel is clueless and don't have any recourse. If one is looking for sleep quality, it's terrible. The reception is helpless as the sound emanates from outside the property...Next time will look at some other property.

Makes you feel that you should have stayed longer.

The location and the Taj standards that has been maintained inspite of it being a old property makes you feel nice and comfortable! The hospitality shown by their staff was a class above!!

Pros:

At check-in, we were told our room was not ready even though we arrived 2 hrs after check in time, when I questioned why that was the case for a “5 star” hotel, they miraculously found another room available to give us, figure that! There were plenty of friendly staff, but they were not attentive. No water offered at breakfast and self-service coffee. We had dinner in the Indian restaurant - good quality and nice food. Overall, I would say “faded glory” in style and character - may not stay again here.

I had a wonderful experience during my stay at Taj Samudra, Colombo. I would especially like to appreciate the excellent service provided by the Chief Concierge MR. SAGARA and the Special Task Manager, Mr. Tushar.

Both of them were extremely professional, attentive, and always ready to assist with a warm smile. Their dedication to guest satisfaction truly reflects the high standards of hospitality that Taj is known for. Mr. Tushar went above and beyond to ensure everything during our stay was smooth and comfortable.

The concierge team was very helpful with guidance, arrangements, and recommendations, making our visit even more enjoyable. Their prompt service and genuine care made us feel very welcome.

Thank you to the entire Taj Samudra team, and a special thanks to Mr. Tushar and the Chief Concierge for making our stay memorable. I would definitely look forward to visiting again.

Poor value. Disappointing.
Pros:

Breakfast - so cramped and too busy. Expensive place ! The vibe was weak. Grumpy matter of fact check in - just another mu customer. Not interested by Gulf State related delays.

We had a wonderful dinner experience at Port of Call at Taj Samudra. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and excellent quality. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented.
What made our evening truly special was the exceptional hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the night. They went above and beyond by surprising my daughter with a complimentary birthday cake, which made her feel so special and happy. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture.
They also kindly helped us take family photos and made sure we captured beautiful memories of the celebration. That extra care and warmth meant a lot to us.
A special thank you to Wasala, Chathura, Amare, and Ruwan for their outstanding service and genuine kindness. They truly made our family celebration unforgettable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and exceptional service at Taj Samudra!
