Charlie's El Nido

I stayed at Charlie’s El Nido for three nights, and it was a disaster. The hotel looks nothing like the photos online and the cleanliness was seriously concerning.

The first room we were given was filthy – we cleaned the floor with the towels and it was so dirty they turned black, and the room resembled a small, dark prison cell. We were moved to another room, which was still far from what was advertised. We asked for some pool towels to take to the beach like other couples were doing and were the only couple asked to pay a rental fee which no other couple had to pay. The room occasionally also smelt like raw sewage.

The breakfast was limited and not worth upgrading for. On the last day, I found my ‘fresh sheets’ had been changed to ripped and urinated-on sheets on my bed. When I raised this issue, the staff were completely useless, showing no urgency or compassion. I waited for half a hour before raising the issue again and the staff (Joel) being particularly careless. The location is also far from everything and the ATM didn’t work if you needed to take cash out.

I would never stay here again and strongly recommend avoiding this place. This property is managed by Hospitality Innovators and it’s very clear profits and overcharging is more important than your experience. The staff and the overall experience were beyond a joke. Don’t waste your time or money!

I have been fortunate enough to be travelling the Philippines for over a month and stayed all over the country and this hotel is by far the worst we have encountered.

Stayed here at Charlie’s for 4 nights as a result of a late change of plans. It ended up being a great find. The resort was clean, tidy and very well maintained. The staff really tried hard to make us feel welcome with their attentive service and friendly conversation. Breakfast was included and if a very good standard. The resort runs a courtesy bus down to El Nido town and to Lio Beach was we used every day. Highly recommend this resort. Very handy to the airport and Lio Beach. Only 10 minutes to El Nido town centre.

Standard Rooms are a bit small, but good for budget travellers. If we return I would get a larger room with a balcony.

There is not enough chairs around the pool to support the number of rooms, also we’re missing seat cushions as shown in hotel pictures.

Room was clean and staff very friendly.
Only had one instance of meal taking over 30 minutes for service, but I suspect was under staffed at the time.

Food was really good.
Shuttle service was great.
Reception was very helpful with inquiries.

Charlie's is a very nice hotel located about 10 minutes from downtown El Nido. But they offer regular shuttle service into the town. The rooms are very nice, especially the 3rd floor suites, but the outside noise may keep you awake at night.The a la carte breakfast food is outstanding. Beautiful presentation. But the service at breakfast is terrible. The waiters are extremely slow. Be prepared to wait 10 minutes for a cup of coffee.

We stayed at Charlie’s El Nido for 5 days and 4 nights, and honestly, it was worth every penny, considering the hyperinflation in El Nido lately. The staff here really go above and beyond. You can tell they genuinely care about making guests happy, and they’re always ready to help with anything you need. Special shoutout to Bon from the restaurant.

Customer service was exceptional, everyone was friendly, respectful, and accommodating. It felt great to be treated so well without any hint of discrimination (something we, unfortunately, experienced elsewhere before just because we’re pinoys and not foreigners.)

The restaurant was another big surprise! Every single thing we tried was delicious , but their chicken burger deserves a special shoutout. Definitely a must-try!

The resort is about 10 minutes away from town, which we actually loved because it’s so much more peaceful. Perfect if you just want to relax after a long day of island hopping. They also have free scheduled shuttles to Lio or El Nido town at convenient times, like an hour after tours. Super handy and saves you around ₱300 each way.

We had such a great experience here. Charlie’s El Nido really delivers.

This hotel was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the cleaness of room excellent, very spacious room and comfy. Kudos to the staff and their service!! Such a great experience and care.

We recently held an event at Charlie’s El Nido, and the overall experience was wonderful. The space is ideal for small gatherings of around 20–25 people, located on the top floor (accessible by stairs—no elevator, which is a nice eco-friendly touch). The venue is well-equipped with WIFI, air-conditioning, chairs, tables, an LCD projector, and a reliable sound system.

The meals were exceptional—Chef’s recommendations were spot on, and we appreciated the personalized proposal tailored to our event. The staff were very accommodating and professional. Although the payment terms were a bit tricky from our side, Charlie’s was very understanding and offered practical alternatives that made things much easier.

Overall, both I and the event attendees—including our local partners from various municipalities in Palawan—had a wonderful experience. Thank you, Charlie’s! We will definitely consider your venue again for future events.

Our stay at Charlie’s El Nido was absolutely perfect from start to finish. 🌴✨ The resort is modern, peaceful, and beautifully designed — everything feels fresh and well cared for. The pool was stunning and such a relaxing place to spend time, and our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable.

What really made the difference was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely thoughtful — they made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The service here truly goes above and beyond.

The breakfast buffet and restaurant food were excellent, with plenty of variety and consistently delicious meals. We also appreciated the convenient shuttle service to town and Lio Beach, which made exploring easy while still being able to return to the quiet comfort of the resort.

This was one of the best resort experiences we’ve had in the Philippines. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in El Nido with top-notch service, modern facilities, and a tranquil atmosphere, Charlie’s is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Nice and quiet place. Approachable staffs, good food quality, service was great! We had a wonderful stay here and vacation in El Nido, would definitely come back again!

I can only give this hotel 5 out of 5 stars. We visited El Nido for the first time in June and stayed at Charlie's for several days. We had a double room with pool access. The room was spacious and clean. We were completely satisfied and felt very comfortable.

In August, we returned to El Nido for a workation and had originally booked a different hotel, but after the first night we were so dissatisfied that we wanted to leave immediately and booked Charlie's online.
Upon arrival at Charlie's, we were greeted warmly and, before checking in and looking at our details, we were welcomed with: ‘You've been here before, haven't you? Welcome home.’ You can't ask for more than that.
We got the same room as in June and stayed for 15 days this time.

The breakfast buffet is extensive, and in the morning you can also choose between a Filipino or American breakfast, which is then freshly prepared for you. You can also have pancakes or scrambled eggs with various ingredients, no problem. During our stay, Lyn and Bon took good care of us and the other guests in the mornings!

The rooms are cleaned daily on request, but this was not necessary for us as we worked in our room after breakfast. If we wanted new towels and the bed linen changed, we simply informed the reception when leaving the hotel and everything was ready when we returned.

Speaking of the reception, they took care of all our concerns, whether it was the Wi-Fi, which we needed to be stable and fast for work, island hopping, questions about a land tour (from Joseph – a great tour guide), questions about a hot water bottle for my wife's cramps, towels for the beach, the question of whether our flight would take place on the day of departure, as a violent thunderstorm was brewing in the morning and only small 40-seater planes fly from El Nido, were answered at all times and alternatives or solutions were always found! Mr Taneo drove us to the airport by shuttle and told us that if the flight was cancelled, we should call him and he would arrange for us to be taken to Puerto Princessa by van so that we could fly from there in a larger plane.
My wife is really afraid of geckos and lizards. We had one in our room on three evenings, and when we asked at reception, a maintenance technician and a member of the housekeeping staff came immediately and removed it.
We got talking to Mr Estrada and he told us about a basketball game, so we went there in the evening by scooter and what can I say, those guys can play! Now, during the rainy season, there is a tournament: El Nido Inter Hotel Basketball Friendship Games. If you are in El Nido and like sports, support the team! The games take place opposite the primary school.
But back to the point.
The hotel and, above all, the staff are a prime example of the friendliness, attentiveness and helpfulness for which the Philippines are known. They know what it means to be a host.
And I know what I'm talking about. I am a trained hotel manager and have worked in various hotels in Germany for 12 years.
Of course, our impression and opinion are very subjective, but for us, everything about this hotel is perfect.
Unfortunately, we don't know all the staff members' names yet, but we will change that. We'll be back soon!

Staff friendly and the hotel is amazing

Family of 6. Stayed in April 2025. The resort was clean, modern, and ideal for families. We booked two family rooms with balconies overlooking the pool. Staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet had a good variety. We also had dinner at the restaurant, where staff kindly sang for a family member’s birthday. Food was delicious. The two pools were perfect, and rooms had air-conditioning. The balcony had a rack for drying swimsuits—very convenient.

A couple of issues, though:

1. **Egg station at breakfast** needs improvement. The chef was by themself and confused, and orders were delayed and got mixed up. Guests were waiting too long or taking eggs that weren’t theirs because they did not want to wait any longer. Suggest assigning a second staff member to take and manage orders by table number. Our daughter didn’t even get her eggs until we were finished eating.
2. **Shuttle coordination for private tours** was disappointing. Our tour ended early, but there was no shuttle back. The front desk told us to wait an hour, pay for private shuttle, or pay for tricycles. We paid a premium for the private tour and expected better coordination. Staff insisted we use their shuttle but failed to provide return service without extra cost. It felt disorganized and unprofessional. We had a rental car and we could’ve just used our own car if we knew this would happen.

Despite these issues, the resort was still a pleasant and relaxing place to stay.

The beds are comfortable. The cr is clean and spacious and complete with needed toiletries. Staff members are accommodating. They provide transportation to Lio and to the town at certain times of the day. They also have free breakfast buffet

Friendly and accommodating staff. The room was neat and spacious. Price is really reasonable given that they offer complimentary breakfast, shuttle service to the town proper and nearby beach, and transportation services to and from the airport

Would like to commend Kuya Jay-R (reception/ front desk) & Bonifacio (dining) for their utmost dedication to their work. We truly felt their genuine care for their guests esp our party who came in as a big group. They extended patience to us& our needs during our 4-day stay. Recommending Charlie’s because of their staff & personnel.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. If you needed anything, or wanted transportation somewhere or ask for extra towels, slippers they were very willing to help you out. The free shuttle to town and Lio Beach was an extra perk. The food at breakfast with Filipino and Western cuisines is plentiful and prepared by a gourmet chef. The facility was super clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, including my friends and family.
