Gateway Coonoor

I stayed here as part of my Cox & Kings tour to Kerala. Lovely hotel and settling in a scenic part of the country. We had dinner twice and loved the restaurant and meal at a fair price.
I must also congratulate and thank the front of house for helping me in a visit to the dentist.

You will love this pictureque Hôtel perched on a hill with views over gorgeous gardens and local church.
The gardens have a fire pit in the evenings, and ducks that roam the lawns during the day.

Amazing property,lovely ambience,impeccable service & great hospitality.We felt like VVIP guests & the staff were at our beck & call.Right since the time of check in Mr.Satish,the manager ensured he met all our requests & made us feel totally at home.During our entire stay,he went out of his way to take good care of my senior citizen mother,who has a vision problem & made her feel safe & gave her an amazing stay.Chef Ramalingam gave us a complete personalised service & cooked the best meals for us,keeping our taste buds in mind & we loved all his delicious food.The housekeeping manager Mr Rajkamal went out of his way to arrange for bath salt & tea which i really wanted & ensured all amenities were replenished from time to time & gave us a nice,clean,environment to stay.Ramesh,Anand,Animesh,Ms.Theresa all great workers & all in all,i couldn't have asked for more but have good memories of this wonderful stay.Kudos to the team!

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Gateway Coonoor. The property offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The rooms were cozy, clean, and well maintained, making the stay extremely comfortable.

What truly stood out was the staff. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and proactive in addressing our needs. Their confident yet warm approach ensured that everything was taken care of smoothly, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after throughout our stay.

Overall, Gateway Coonoor delivers excellent comfort and hospitality. It’s a wonderful choice for a peaceful getaway, and we would happily recommend it.

Its an excellent property for a little town like Coonoor. Rest assured you can have a calm, comfortable and memorable stay.

Great place to stay for a night or two with family. The Entry to the hotel is difficult opening into the road. The Restaurant is average and does not offer local food. But the rooms and the service are fabulous.

Awesome food and the chef made my favourite parupu payasam on request ❤️. This place has a lot of dandelions and we had fun foraging for them . Moddys is a short walk for the chocolate strawberries

Traveling with our 14-month-old son, comfort and care were extremely important to us—and the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel truly at home. A special mention to Samiya, Sailesh, Sanjeev, Ramalingam, and Theresa, whose warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made our stay incredibly special. Their thoughtful gestures and constant readiness to help ensured that every moment was seamless and joyful.

The ambience of the property is serene and soul-soothing, perfectly complemented by the breathtaking mountain-landscape that surrounds it. Every meal was a delight—the food was exceptional, comforting, and beautifully curated. Experiences like the church walkthrough and the bonfire set up right in our room added a unique charm and made our evenings truly memorable.

From the smallest details to the overall experience, everything was simply superb. Gateway, Coonoor is not just a place to stay—it’s a place that stays with you. We will always look back at this trip with a smile and a full heart, and we can’t wait to return.
