Location, room ok, Lobby cafe made good espresso coffee.
Room was modern, everything worked.
There is no shade by the large pool so we're unable to use it, the pool
was the reason we chose the hotel.
Also a lot of tiny red ants crawling around by the pool. An attractive area but cannot stay by the pool because NO shade/ants.
Had to wait for a flight the next day but were unable to relax by the pool which was the whole plan.
Very simple fix. Move the chairs, add shade.
Nobody on duty by the pool, not able to get refreshments.
Buffet food was ok but not great.
My recent stay at Vivantha Colombo, Airport Garden was exceptional. The service was absolutely amazing. Every staff member was kind, friendly, and genuinely committed to making my stay comfortable. Their warmth made me feel truly cared for.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, kindness, and a truly memorable stay. Special shout to the GM, Mr. Anthony, all the staff of the Mynt restaurant and every simple person that I have met there.

We returned to Sri Lanka only one night passing thru Colombo. The Vivante was close to the airport, they arranged transport from/to the airport that was reasonable and convenient. The room was spacious and immaculate, very comfortable. There were several dining options which was easy for us as well. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was bad. all local food. the hotel looks kinda old and run down.

Had a wonderful, relaxing stay here. The workers were all friendly and the hotel was well maintained. The pool area was nice too. A big thank you to Logesh who was very friendly and helpful in the morning. Gave me a lot of recs and did his best to provide whatever I needed. I’m very happy with my stay here. A nice relaxing trip

Just a so so overpriced hotel with ridiculously expensive buffets ($30 USD/person for dinner was the DISCOUNTED price offered to us if we purchased during check-in!)
Room was musty.
Air Conditioning could not seem to be shut off even if you set it to heat.
Bed and pillow were very comfortable. Shower was nice and hot.
Packed breakfast ordered at checkout was a severe disappointment. It was not ready and ten minutes after checkout it still hadn't arrived. We were getting in our taxi when they rushed it to us. They sure ripped us off on this. We paid for the amazing breakfast buffet with our reservation and our packed breakfast was a tiny chicken salad sandwich, two tiny mini muffins and an apple. What a pathetic insult it was that they even offered this service.
I had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay at Vivanta Colombo. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout.Special thanks to Duty Manager Deshan, who went above and beyond to assist us especially with our flight booking and ensured we were always comfortable.

Stayed one night (this was because our flights had been re-arranged by our airline and they organised the accommodation close to the airport).
Pleasant check-in and shown our room (102). Hotel seemed very quiet for mid evening ie we didn’t see anyone.
Bedroom curtains were closed when we got to our bedroom. After a few minutes we pulled the curtains open to find…… a window that wasn’t a window - it was completely “frosted” so there was NO WINDOW to look out of! There was also a sign saying the window was not open-able!!! “PLEASE DO NOT FORCE OPEN AS THE WINDOW IS LOCKED” indeed it wasn’t open-able because o tried to open it). See photos
This was very worrying so we rang the hotel reception and they confirmed that the window was blocked up.
Never in all our years of travelling around the world have I had a bedroom window that was frosted up and non-openable!!!
Why would a hotel do this to a window?? And why would a hotel give a room to a guest?
Therefore, if there was a fire in the corridor and we needed to escape via the window we couldn’t!!!! This is very serious.
Reception advised that there was no other rooms available!! I didn’t believe this but that is what they told us.
Later that evening I checked and according to the hotels’ own website that infact there was a variety of rooms available.
The room had also only been set up for one person so they had to bring more towels.
It wasn’t especially clean.
The en-suite was very small.
Breakfast was ok but I ordered an omelette and requested four ingredients (tomato, mushroom etc), the chef repeated them back to me… when it came to the table it only had one item!! The restaurant was fairly quiet again suggesting that the hotel was definitely not full.
Guests are alllowed to smoke on the covered semi-outside area to eat breakfast therefore we sat inside - who wants to be sat next to someone smoking when eating breakfast??
We cannot comment on other aspects of this hotel as didn’t use any other facility in the time we had.
The lack of a functioning bedroom window is a very major problem for the reasons stated above not least of all safety in case of fire and for this reason staying at this hotel should be avoided
Where do I start…perhaps after a 6 hour drive we arrived to a very slow checkin where the reception did not believe we had a car transfer included in our booking. 10 minutes later after phone calls he agreed that we did. We were taken to our room where the key would not open the door, after a second trip to reception and a new key it also did not work. Along comes the repairman who then says we have to stay in our room and wait 1/2 hr for the engineer to come. All so we could get a key. The room itself is large with tachy decor, a large bathroom with a very small vanity. No bath. The noise from an aircraft slices the air outside our window (little to no soundproofing), although the air conditioning in the room is loud enough to override any sound, not to mention the fact that it blows directly onto your face when your asleep (had to turn off). There is a master switch for lights that overrides every light including a night light to use the bathroom ~ all lights or no lights. The hotel purports to be relatively new, however there is ‘pretend’ security at the front of a soulless foyer. Really this hotel is a disaster from every aspect which includes bed quality. It is clean but definitely not value for money. We were thankful it was only a transit stay. Also the power point for international travellers are based (I think) on Indian two prong points (Sri Lanka 3 prong) hence unable to use the one by the bed (no continual power) had to move devices elsewhere in the room.
My recent stay in this hotel was simply exceptional!
The service was absolutely amazing from the beginning to the very last day of my vacation. The staff I met there was kind, friendly, and committed to making my stay comfortable and memorable. They made me feel truly at home. The room was clean, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable. It’s the kind of space that brings a sense of peace, especially when traveling solo.
This was my second stay within the year, I had stayed here in October 2025 and I can confidently say that I’ve found my second home. There’s something special about a place that makes you feel both welcomed and remembered. That's exactly how I left here. This will be my go‑to hotel every time I plan a solo trip.
I Highly recommended Vivanta for anyone looking for a truly memorable stay. Special shout to Mr. Anthony as all as the staff of the Mynt restaurant. Not to forget the bellman that was always there to help.

Front office : good services at check-in and check-out , accepted payments by card or cash. Special thanks to front office manager mister Sudheera , being very helpful for organizing our 2 weeks extension at the hotel because of the Middle East war.
Room 621 : luxury room having a bathtub and shower , kingbed, free safety deposit box , splendid view on Negombo Lagoon and landing airplanes. Housekeeping was excellent , regularly refreshed linen , clean room , evening service. Congratulations to the housekeeping team.
Restaurant : gorgeous breakfast ( hoppers , herbal soup , oats , curries , fresh fruit , local and Indian dishes , cold starters , bread...). We opted for lunch at noon. Excellent soups , cold starters , a choice of warm dishes , fresh fruit and cakes. High quality kitchen.
Bar : we always took a pot of tea , twice a day at the Swirl bar. Great choice of teas , Excellent professional services by bartenders misters Tuan and Logesh.
A special mention for the impressive and very beautiful hotel garden where we walked many times around.
Perfect and punctual taxi service by the hotel to the Airport.
Nice and Comfortable stay. Close to the airport. Good breakfast buffet.
