Alta Las Palomas Hotel

We were fooled by Web and pictures. the pool 2 feet deep and cold, the room was shoddy with shower that no hot water and moss in it, and the resturant food was stale and almost inedible. we stayed one pm. had 3 more reserved but left. asked for refund but refused....... comments on web must be culled. this is not a top hotel. we left even tho lost money. dont be fooled like we were.

Gourgeous view of the valley. Beautiful sunsets. Nice big room. Gave a 4 because of location. Not much around that you can walk to.

Do in Rome ….. and in Costa Rica stay here to be close to nature

We only had one night here as it’s so convenient for the airport before travelling on. We wished we could have stayed longer as it’s a beautiful hotel full of charm. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent too

Excellent hotel with amazing staff who look after your every need. The building is beautiful and in a stunning setting. Breakfast was lovely and the waiters were all amazing, professional and welcoming. All round great experience.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in and we are quite a well travelled family! I would describe it as simply ‘exquisite.’ Beautiful decor, rooms, restaurant, food and service. We found it exemplary. The only disappointment was that we could only stay one night. If we ever return to San Jose we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This is the most peaceful hotel housed in a beautiful Spanish revival building. The staff is like a family. The restaurant - La Luz has the best breakfast and Lomito for dinner. Each room has its own terrace with views of the mountains. You may never leave!

My experience here was fantastic! The hotel is spectacular with an exquisite design. The food is well prepared, healthy. Ambience is inviting. Staff is friendly & courteous. And last, but not least the beautiful views from everywhere. I highly recommend this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel Alta La Paloma’s. Amazing hospitality, our room was ok, our view on the balcony made up for it! Beautiful scenery, amazing food. The perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Santa Ana, Costa Rica. The is an animal rescue in walking distance, which was a plus, all proceeds go to help the animals. There is also a butterfly sanctuary not too drive far from the hotel, which was super nice,

The view alone on our balcony, Was heavenly. Marlen, Javier, David, Marco, at front desk very hospitable and helpful. Jonathan, restaurant manager, also very accommodating and professional . Sol & Alexandra at the spa were super Amazing!! ❤️ you must have a massage if you book here, you will not regret it. In our opinion, the food was much better inside the hotel. It was a little difficult trying to find a place to eat out of the hotel that we enjoyed.

Best boutique/independent hotel in San Jose.

The driveway needs a redesign, I requested a toothbrush and they charged me $5 and the space just seems a bit tired. The staff was wonderful!

5 day stay. Staff was excellent and accommodating. They were instrumental in making our stay memorable and relaxing. Front desk staff was resourceful, warm, understanding, and always professional (Marlen, Javier, and David). Restaurant staff was exceptional and friendly (George, Ricky, Antonio, and Jairol). Room staff was welcoming and kind (Cecilia). All staff are patient with English speakers and willing to help you practice your Spanish, so don't be timid to try.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel this is the place. It has charm but a little dated. The restaurant and pool is wonderful. Nice amenities when you arrive.

This property was absolutely stunning. When we arrived we were so frustrated from the drive but the staff gave us a welcome refresher drink and accompanied us to our room. We ate dinner and breakfast and both meals were hot, very tasty and simply delicious. I wish we would have stay 6 days at this luxury hotel.

The staff and the property are wonderful. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is beautiful. The bar/restaurant is old-school cool, and the room is clean, quiet and authentic. We have loved our stay and would highly recommend

If I could review them with zero stars I would. The customer service is the worst we have encountered in our multiple trips to Costa Rica. Spare yourself the trouble and spend your money at a good place that values the essence of the Pura Vida lifestyle because this place definitely leaves much to be desired.
