The property was fine the staff were fine.
Everything seemed fine until I saw two big stains on the bed. I was gonna brush it off and sleep on the other bed but I just did feel comfortable with it. When I saw the two stains on the bed, I was confused so I let them know. They moved my room but I had to pack and u pack again. Staff took care of me, but I don’t think k I would come back if I had a choice.
pool was warm
food was soso
Location and pool
Terrible breakfast. Cold eggs, cold “French” toast. Couldn’t drink the coffee. No bread, potatoes, sausage, or cereal.
The decor and style of the hotel were nice. Beds were comfortable. Pool was very spacious.
Where do I begin? We had a poor experience at the restaurant and received cold chicken wings. They kicked us out of the pool for maintenance. The jacuzzi hot tub was closed which was why we booked this hotel. The bar by the pool was closed even though hours posted showed it should be open. Seemed like the place was running low on staff. Breakfast was the worst hotel breakfast we have ever seen. It was described as a buffet style breakfast and yet there were only two options. Egg casserole and yogurt…. Not even cereal or toast were available. Also the coffee was out. When we read about this place online, we were really excited. In the end, we feel like we got way less than we expected.
The location was great, very out of the way and very little outside noise. The staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was on par with what was expected for a continental breakfast.
The condition of the room, especially for the price I paid. The room was small, there was no in room fridge, we had to fill up a wastebasket with ice to keep items cold. The in room tv was very small. There were no outlets near the bed to plug in charge cords. The room was on street level with a wall to wall window, but no curtain to draw shut at night to keep the lights from the parking lot out. The floor in the bathroom was chipped and had peeling paint. The shower had rust all around the floor drain, and some weird pink stuff all around the top of the tub. The shower curtain and floor mat were stained and had holes in them. I was thankful that we had 2 beds, because the one had fluid stains all over the top of it, and the pillowcases had mascara and what appeared to be nose mucus left on them from the previous guests. When I booked the room, everything advertised made this hotel seem as if it was geared more towards adults, but there were kids everywhere. The hot tub was full of kids the whole night except for the last hour that the pool was open, not a lot of good an hour does. Same experience with the arcade and game/vinyl areas, we didn't get to experience any of these amenities, which was 95% of the reason we booked the room. Hindsight I should have asked for a refund and found somewhere else to stay. I won't be booking at the Highlander again.
The vibe was right. The execution was meh
Very muggy in the lounge. Staff was questionable rooms were cheaply updated. Lots of cut corners. Old hotel smell. Just a wierd experience yet I would go back to this fever dream of a hotel.
The location is excellent, since most members of our party were arriving on the interstate via car. The meeting and conversation area options are great, allowing for good get togethers.
The breakfast could have used more variety. For example: the keto members of our party couldn't eat the eggs, because they had potatoes in them. (Perhaps separate egg, meat and potato options?)
We were traveling to Colorado with our dog ( he’s a 35 pound lab mix) so we needed a pet friendly hotel . This was perfect - we had a nice quiet room on the end and lots of space to walk him outside. He loved it!
We never had to leave the hotel because they have a cute bar/ restaurant with a game room that was just what we needed. The bartender was so nice and our dinners were good- especially the milkshakes! Front desk staff was professional and accommodating.
It has been rehabbed from the 60’s and is still slightly dated but the charm it has makes up for it.
Cool midcentury vibe !
Loved the room - extra space to have the dog. Also right next to the exit to take her out.
Lovely dinner at the restaurant - good food, wine, service and friendly conversation with local staff.
Arrived in middle of a snow storm so expectations were not high but we would absolutely stay
here again.
We were told breakfast was at 7:00 (and we needed to get on the road) however food was brought in from
somewhere else off property (I think) so not available until about 7:30. Selection was OK - biscuits/gravy, waffles, cereal
and oatmeal. Scrambled eggs arrived after we had eaten
It was a great stay, warm pool! Spacious and historic.
The food seemed overpriced.
I booked and paid for my room in full through Booking.com, yet I was charged a second time by the Highlander. Despite multiple calls and emails, the duplicate charge still hasn’t been reversed.
On top of that, I had a delivery stolen from the front desk during my stay, and the staff made no effort to help.
Loved everything about it, minus one or two small things 😊
The breakfast during the week is only grab and go which for a higher end facility I feel kind of sucked. And my husband and I went to relax in the hot tub at 9 when yhe pool area opened and they had just put chemicals in the pool and you could do anything till almost 11 which sucked because we needed to leave around 10-10:30. Maybe putthat stuff in when it closes at night so people can actually use it when it opens in the morning. Other than those couple things, we will definitely be staying there again.
The decor was amazing. The pool and hot tub were great. Nice to have a restaurant that stayed open until 9. Beautiful bar and game room. Best free breakfast I have ever had. They served on real plates and silverware not plastic.
Our room could have been bigger. No coffee maker in the room.
Location was close to our destination
The price and no amenities, no vending, no elevator.
Staff, particularly Kimberly and Jula, were very professional and accommodating. Pool is great and lots of fun activities for our two boys. Overall an inviting and entertaining property providing a unique experience.
