Pros:

The property was located near everything. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly.

Cons:

They had one working elevator the entire weekend. We were supposed to get cleaning service and never did. We had to get our own towels.

I definitely had better expectations with this being the biggest and priciest location.
Pros:

It was conveniently located on the beach right on the boardwalk

Cons:

It wasn’t as clean as I one would hope. There was hair on the shower wall that looked like someone shaved and it never got cleaned properly. I almost made coffee until I went to pour water in and it was gross inside. They were having a fire alarm test and while we were getting ready a maintenance worker knocked on the door and before I could get to it, he opened the door and we were making eye contact. Thank God I had literally just got my dress on.

No good breakfast. Prefer a continental breakfast and we pay more for that.

Great views!
Pros:

Check in was good and the views from the room was amazing. We got the 10th floor and got to enjoy the sunrise and full moon rise. There is also a convenient place to wash your feet after walking on the beach. You also feel like you are in the middle of the action because you can hear the live music from the bars nearby. Close to breakfast options.
I did ask for housekeeping because we stayed for a few days and would have loved a refresh of the bathroom and beds. Especially with the sand. But from what we can tell, they only took out the trash and refreshed the towels.

Pros:

Location is Great! Right next to the boardwalk. In the heat of Carolina Beach.

Cons:

Staff is inattentive to concerns or issues. I reported a problem with the bed being off the frame and possibly broken....sagged in the center on one side almost to the floor. Reported this twice.... nothing was ever done about it. Someone was in the room at some point after the first report because when we came back from breakfast the sliding door to the balcony was left open a little and lights were turned on( door was locked and lights off when we left). So mention this again at checkout....acted like they didn't know. Also, our room was right by the laundry room....5-6 piles of linen in the floor and in carts stacked 5-6 feet high is not what anyone wants to walk past at night checking in...or the next day heading out. Finally got mostly cleared up after a couple days. Please don't let the Marriott name fool you....this was by no means a nice place to stay. The only positive I will give is the young lady that was working in the Bistro on Tuesday night was very friendly.

Great stay except for the extra charges
Pros:

The VIEW was spectacular!

Cons:

The hotel charges $40 up front for what you MIGHT charge to the room BEFORE you even get checked in! Then , they “release” the hostage money to your bank AFTER you check out! In our case, Visa Debit intercepted the hostage money for 5-7 business days to “ensure it isn’t fraudulent”! This should have been disclosed prior to checking in! What if that was our gas money to get home? Ridiculous! The hotel should charge the credit card if there are any additional charges made - like every other hotel chain.
