SpringHill Suites Detroit Southfield

One of the worst hotels I have been to in terms of cleanliness. There is food littering the halls with a pizza crust left next the elevator. Pool looks to have been cleaned last during the Obama administration. If you want to swim the front desk has to give you wrist bands because they have to many people sneaking in. The breakfast was constantly empty and the only way the staff wanted to refill it was when a fellow guest walked into the kitchen and asked the staff member to make some more food and refill the coffee. This staff member was on his phone and not even paying attention to the food. DO NOT STAY HERE

We checked in on 2/21/2026 and the room was decent. Unfortunately, the temperature was not. It was in the 20's outside and below zero inside of our room. I called the front desk, and Jasmine came up and tried to assist to best of her ability. She even called the night manager but no one but her came to try and at least turn the heat on in the room. The furnace wouldn't come on at all. We could not switch rooms as we were told the hotel was booked. We had to sleep in the below zero room all night. This was terrible. The next day I had to ask if we could change rooms no one ever came and asked us. It would not be available until after 4 pm by that time we were headed to our event. These accommodations were terrible. I was told by the manager on Monday that he would contact me because he was receiving so many complaints that morning of check out he could not assist all of us at one time. Today is 3/3/2026. I have not received a call yet. I want a full refund. ASAP.

I would like to thank the team of all the staff from room service, food preparation, desk managers and the owner for the care provided, cleanliness, thoughtful, professional and supportive service my wife and I had on our recent visit. Many thanks to each of you.

I will never stay here again and my company is ending the contract with this hotel. The cleanliness is subpar, but the lack of sleep was the killer. I moved rooms three different times trying to get some peace and quiet to sleep. People make fun of me in life because I can fall asleep anywhere, but I barely got any sleep at this hotel. From people running and screaming down the halls to couples arguing and people tap dancing upstairs to drunken people stumbling through the halls, banging on doors and yelling at people to let them in. When I called down to the front desk, they just offered to change my room and give me earplugs. Never to handle the continuous problems. I’ve stayed in hotels so many times for work and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Another side note here, when housekeeping came in to clean my room, they definitely went through my stuff or at least rearranged it. Not a good feeling, though everything was accounted for.

Very roomy. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Hot tub felt great. The on-site pantry with drinks and snacks is very convenient.

This hotel was horrible from the moment we pulled up. There were people working on cars, and standing around drinking in the parking lot. The location is undergoing a repaint and still at 7:00 pm on a Friday the front was still taped off with tarps that created a maze to enter.
Front desk staff was great. He asked if i was checking in and I explained to him that without even seeing the room, that this location doesn't work for me, he asked why and I explained I don't feel safe and shared why. He said he understood and would cancel the reservation with no penalty. They have a lot of investmemt and improvement to make that a reputable location again.

The customer service representative was friendly and answered all our questions, when we checked in. The pool area was nice, clean and refreshing. The breakfast was excellent.

They had some kind of construction going on and the machinery was loud. My room was not far from the pool and guests in the pool were loud; kids screaming. It was so loud that when I was on a zoom call speaking they could be heard by the others on the call.

The hotel was comfortable and the staff were nice. My issue was with the amount of noise guests were making in the room next to mine, and the slamming of doors at 3: 00 am. It did not make for a restful sleep. One suggestion, can you add a hook to the backside of the restroom door to hang your robe on. Also a privacy slide for the vanity area. Thanks!

From the moment we checked in to this hotel the staff were brilliant, they were helpful, friendly, and super accommodating of all our family needs.
Dan Brining the executive sales director epitomised everything that is professional, calm and incredibly supportive.
All the other staff were amazing and always having a smile on their face whatever time of the day it was.
Definitely recommend this place to everyone and we are definitely going to return here when we visit our daughter who is at Detroit Mercy University

Property was good for the level of accommodation, and the room was nice as well as clean.

It was perfect for what I came for.

The stay itself was great .the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh. The person at the front desk got me checked in with no issues. We did have a incident with a drunk person trying to get in our room but the staff took care of that right away, And even compensated me for the inconvenience.

This hotel doesn’t deserve to be called Marriott. I had to switch rooms because the toilet wouldn’t atop running. There was a puddle when I took a shower so I almost fell. Switched rooms. The doors had been taken off the shower and replaced with a shower curtain. I took a shower and the floor was soaking wet. I almost fell again. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
