We stayed for a night with our 2 golden retrievers and had a wonderful stay.

Didnt like the bath and shower combo
Location within a couple of minutes’ walk of the casco histórico. It felt safe, luxuriously central and peaceful. The centuries-old palace buildings elevated the experience, immersing you in its history. My room - a corner room - offered stunning views of convent and cathedral. Staff were gracious and helpful.
Its facilities were lacking. Information regarding the closure of the spa was clear but the hotel felt a bit empty, even the bar felt a little cold and impersonal.

Le service n'est pas toujours digne d'un cinq étoiles (eau non renouvelée dans la chambre, pas de rafraîchissement en permanence à la réception, personnel pas toujours très professionnel et accueillant au petit-déjeuner ou à la piscine, légumes brûlés ou œuf mal poché lors du petit-déjeuner, …). Par ailleurs, la piscine est un peu étroite par rapport au nombre de client.es. Enfin, le passage de l'hôtel pour aller à la piscine n'est pas très attractif (parking).
This was a lovely stay, very welcoming reception, car was parked and all luggage carried to the rooms. Spacious rooms with a comfortable bed en sufficient space also for a small sofa and table. We were on the 4th floor in the adjacent building and had no issues with outside noise. We had dinner twice in the hotel, lovely patio outside, good quality, but some dished had very minimal portions (tortellini; 6 small pieces). The old city has such a lovely and tranquile atmosphere and upon returning the pool area and garden offer a superb spot for relaxation if your feet are tired. During our stay we had no issues claiming a poolside bed. Car can be parked on the premises, if I recall correct for € 15 or 20 a night, which is decent in my view. We stayed 3 nights and would gladly return upon another Salamanca visit.
Looking through a '5-star hotel' lense - meaning one can be a bit more picky, right? - there are some small things. The bathroom door is glass, its let's light through and the bathroom window had no shutter, so light enters the bedroom in the morning. We have sleeping mask, so we are always prepared, if you are light sensitive, just be aware; bring your mask. Showering is in the bath, I read some people complaining, but for us it was fine (plus you can take a bath in winter time!)
The pool can only be reached via a staircase after crossing the parking lot, so not directly from the hotel. I guess this just comes with the lay-out of the premises, not a big thing but hey, maybe not a 5-star experience. There is a 'snacks&bites' menu at the pool, but there are no tables, only poolbeds. This is my biggest 'suggestion for improvement'. I love a 'low key' eating option at the pool. The alternative is in the restaurant, but we felt this was the better 'evening option'.
The doors of neighbours closing can be heard, many people just don't care - unfortunately - and just smash their door closed. An improvement could be to have softer closing mechanisms on the door to prevent this.

El Hotel es Fantástico . La atención del personal extraordinaria. Ya había estado alojada hace unos años con mi anterior mascota y este he querido ir con mi nueva mascota, la cual ha sido perfecta acogida por todos . Prometo volver !!! . Muy agradecida por toda la atención recibida 👍🐶

Rapport qualité prix mauvais : chambre petite et salle de bain avec seulement une baignoire et pas de douche, équipement correct mais sans plus , recharge électrique voiture payante (10 Eur), piscine petite et accessible uniquement en passant par le parking … ne vaut pas un 5 étoiles comme il se le revendique..
