Pros:

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times and would recommend it for the comfort of the rooms, the location relative to the centre of the city and the always helpful staff.

Pros:

Prachtig hotel, goede locatie, zeer voorkomend personeel. Het restaurant is voortreffelijk. Fijne kamer.

Het viel tegen deze keer, niet de accommodatie maar het restaurant
Pros:

Mooie locatie. Laten honden toe op kamer.

Cons:

Hoewel we hier reeds meermaals verbleven - doorgaans met Pasen en in zomer - was het de eerste keer dat we in het restaurant aten. Zowel mijn vriend als ikzelf liepen een voedselvergiftiging op na bezoek aan restaurant. Bij mijn vriend werd dit zelfs medisch bevestigd na bezoek aan de arts. Bij melding aan hotel kreeg ik een beleefd standaardmailtje terug van we zullen dit onderzoeken, maar daar bleef het bij. In België zou dit doorverwezen worden naar het Nationaal Agentschap voor voedselveiligheid.

Friendly and clean but hesitant about dogs
Pros:

Well located, parking, the waiters were very helpful and friendly and did their best to make us feel comfortable when accommodating our having to eat outside the restaurant

Cons:

They tolerated rather than welcomed dogs and whilst we understand the rule about not taking dogs into the restaurant we were disappointed that we couldn’t have dinner at a table in the hallway adjacent to the restaurant.
Also a bit taken aback by the long list of rules for dogs which we had to sign when checking in.
A complete contrast to the French hotels we stayed at in previous nights where dogs positively welcomed

Sadly lacking in atmosphere. Long brown and cream corridors. Overall, rather disappointing.
Pros:

Location is perfect… a short and beautiful walk to the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca

Cons:

I feel like the special atmosphere of an old monastery has been removed in a very unimaginative restoration. Lots of brown and cream. Also the photos of the place are deceptive. The pool area was inaccessible and the other garden actually belongs to the church next door.

The stay included Christmas Eve dinner which was dreadful and overpriced.
Pros:

The room and bathroom were warm.

Cons:

The rooms are small and dark owing to the architecture but only have an opaque glass door between that and the bathroom which is also small so no privacy. A reported missing light bulb was not replaced over a four day stay.
Breakfast was adequate.
A complaint letter about the Christmas Eve dinner was unacknowledged.

Fijn en voelt goed.
Pros:

Wij komen hier op de heen en terugreis naar de Algarve. Prima hotel en parking op eigen terrein. Personeel is heel behulpzaam: parkeren de auto, brengen de bagage naar de kamer en goed restaurant. En niet ver lopen van het grote plein met terrasjes.
