Old to the point it looks dirty
Cons:

It needs to go under big renovation before you can call it a real hotel
The spa area should just be closed as it is way to old and warned to the limit of decency

Pros:

Great rooms with high quality soaps/bed/etc. Warm pool that they have quite nice.

Cons:

Lot's of upcharge. Some of it is really ridiculous. For example, we've been asked to pay $50 to rent a pickleball court.

Sonoma is great
Pros:

the spa is the highlight of this hotel - it is well run and the service providers are first class. The gym needs a serious upgrade as do the locker rooms. Pool and food set-up are great. worth a visit for a relaxing weekend.

An Effortlessly Enjoyable Sonoma Getaway
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Sonoma Mission Inn. One of the nicest parts of the experience was how easy and welcoming the mornings felt—waking up to complimentary coffee and tea is such a simple touch, but it really sets the tone for a relaxing day.

Breakfast at Santé was truly excellent. The food was thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully prepared, and it felt like a real treat rather than a standard hotel breakfast. It’s the kind of place you look forward to returning to each morning.

The front desk staff deserves special mention—they were warm, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. From check-in to questions during the visit, everything was handled with ease and kindness, which made the whole experience feel seamless.

Overall, the Sonoma Mission Inn strikes a great balance between comfort, calm, and understated luxury. We left feeling refreshed and well taken care of, and we would happily return.

Cold massage room and dangerous slippery tile floors
Pros:

The massage room was cold and took about 20minutes to warm up to where I was comfortable. The massage itself was very nice.
After the massage, there is a nice area with steam room, sauna and shower. The eucalyptus steam room was excellent. The cold waterfall shower was under construction so cold plunge was not available! The sauna was excellent.
A very terrible thing happened. As I was walking from the sauna to get my robe, the tile had some oil on it (probably from someone's massage) and my feet slipped right out from under me. Luckily I was not hurt, but it could have been a catastrophic fall because I have osteoporosis. The ground was a hard tile. The staff was very kind and nice, and took an incident report.
However, there is no warning sign. There should be some kind of mat or something to prevent falls. Noone was wearing slippers inside that area. I will not return because of this dangerous oversight.

Great Staycation
Pros:

We staycationed here as I have a December birthday and we were not disappointed. The customer service here is top notch and all staff we have encountered have been so friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the 4:30 wine tasting each night and got to chat with our fellow travelers, and also hung out in the large lobby. It was welcoming and inviting with different table games that could be played. Also loved having the shuttle to and from the Sonoma square. Breakfast in the Sante restaurant was delicious, and we also booked a chalet for dinner one night. Never utilized the spa. Bed was comfortable and sheet quality was amazing. Was able to cast my phone to the TV so we could watch movies and would say our sleep quality was good as we didn’t really hear anything from outside the room.

Shout out to Eric, who picked us up from the square; Brian who served us in the chalet; and Matt who booked us in the chalet. Excellent customer service. Yes, you do pay a premium to stay here, but there is value in the resort fee. Also there are three Tesla destination chargers in the self parking area. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing, Restorative and Exceptional Service
Pros:

We had such a lovely stay at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and it was the perfect start to a short couple's getaway. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly exceptional. We were generously upgraded and everyone we interacted with was kind, attentive, and made us feel really well taken care of.

I did have one massage that fell a bit short, and when I shared that feedback with the spa manager Liz, she handled it so beautifully. She immediately invited me back the next day and that second massage (with Mike!) was exactly what I was hoping for — calming, restorative, and such a reminder of how much they genuinely care about the guest experience.

We loved soaking in the mineral pools each day, relaxing in our room, and just enjoying the peace and romance of the property. There is even a sweet kitty Bugs that hangs out at the valet stand and we loved visiting her every time we passed by.

We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about when we can come back. Such a special stay and truly impeccable service throughout!

Beautiful during the holidays!
Pros:

We had a great stay at the fairmont Sonoma mission inn. They have such a festive vibe during the holidays season. We booked through American Express hotel collection, they had some really good perks for us! Breakfast credit up to $90 per day and $100 resort credit.
Self parking is $29 per day. They charge a resort fee of $59 per day but it includes so many things like bottle of wine in your room, a glass of sparkling wine on arrival., bike rentals and so much more. This also included the shuttle service to sonoma square where you can find great restaurants and wine tasting.
The property has very nice dining options, we tried Sante and lobby bar.
Our room was very comfortable, I really appreciated the La Lebo products and nespresso coffee. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back.

Our recent stay at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa was absolutely spectacular!
Pros:

Our recent stay at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa was absolutely spectacular! My husband and I had a truly enchanting birthday celebration here. The festive cheer and attention to detail throughout the resort made it feel like a magical winter wonderland right here in wine country.

Service was top-notch, led by the charming and attentive Chief Concierge Casey Domingo, who went above and beyond to make our stay special.

We had the pleasure of staying in a romantic suite that truly exceeded our expectations. The experience was made even more memorable by a personalized, handwritten welcome note and a delightful champagne welcome, featuring a lovely bucket of champagne and a complimentary bottle of Highway 12 wine to kick off our relaxing getaway. The suite itself was wonderful, boasting a pretty patio with a serene view of the courtyard and fountain, where the soothing sound of water provided a perfect backdrop to our quiet mornings and evenings. We also loved the cozy fireplace, complete with fire logs, which made the room feel incredibly inviting in the evening. Thoughtful high-quality robes, slippers and luxurious Le Labo perfuming bath and body products were provided, along with attentive service that included roses arranged in a heart shape on our fabulous four-poster bed and rose petals scattered along the well-appointed bathroom's jet tub.

During the day, we thoroughly enjoyed the lovely spa, which features several different heated swimming pools, with one that plays music underwater. Swimming under the canopy of the red trees was a particularly wonderful experience.

We joined our friends and the four of us enjoyed the Sonoma Swiss Chalet. I recommend this unique experience for anyone looking to celebrate the season in style. The experience was a delightful escape, and the charming ambiance instantly reminded me of being in Austria . Having recently visited Grossarler, I felt the architecture and decor at the chalet perfectly captured the warmth of a traditional Alpine house with a gable roof. The chalet was cozy and intimate, the perfect setting for a holiday gathering. We were able to linger and make memories without feeling rushed, which really enhanced our experience. We were kept warm by the fire patio heater and comfy blankets provided. We thoroughly enjoy the holiday inspired cocktails and the delicious fondue.

We had a nice dinner in the heart of the historic lobby at 38° North Bar. Upon returning from dinner, we were surprised with pre-mixed cocktails in beautiful glass jars along with a delightful food pairing and personalized birthday dessert.

The next morning, we indulged in a delicious eggs Benedict breakfast at Fairmont's Santé Restaurant, which offers French-inspired menus using locally sourced ingredients.

Another special thank you goes to the concierge,  Casey, who arranged a beautiful drive through Sonoma wine country for us, which led us to the fabulous Coursey Graves Esate Winery. There, we spent three wonderful hours with our exceptional wine guides, Patrick and Robin, who did a fabulous job introducing us to their delicious wine. We were also able to walk around the property and take a little golf cart tour, enjoying the beautiful lake. The breathtaking views from the winery overlook the Sonoma hills all the way to the Pacific Ocean, which was an incredible sight, especially with the fog rolling in. To top it off, we even got to meet the owners, who were very friendly and came over to say hello.

We highly recommend this beautiful inn for anyone looking for a luxurious, peaceful retreat and to enjoy all the wonderful experiences the hotel and surrounding Sonoma area offers. We can't wait to return!

Great facial, Facilities lacking
Pros:

Facial was great and esthetician was experienced, but a bit disappointed in the facilities and checkout experience. Firepit was broken unfortunately but they brought blankets, no bags for wet swimsuits. The cold plunge area was closed for renovations. Food was okay, a messy and limited options. In the locker room we were kind of shooed out by someone picking up around us even though it was an hour until close. Check out process took awhile with people trying to walk through as you’re in line waiting - seemed disorganized, and while they offered to validate parking it didn’t work at the gate ($24 for the day - which is new). I’ve been to this spa many times and feel this time was a bit lackluster, other than a good facial.
