It was great, better than ever!
Service was somewhat slow. Perhaps more staffing all the way around.
We had a great massage experience - I wanted to make sure I pointed out how wonderful Telesa was to me. I mentioned I was there for a massage after the passing of my mother. She was so amazing to me and caring - it REALLY helped me get to a better place with my grief. I can't recommend her enough - special person for sure!
The only constructive feedback I would give is that the showers seem to be in need of updating. Overall, a great experience
Massages and pools were excellent
This was one of the most amazing hotels that I’ve been to in a while. The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is definitely a hidden gem. Not only were the accommodations awesome, but the staff were absolutely the best. Jonv greased us with his amazing warm smile and made our stay a memorable experience. Desmond was also amazing! He provided us with information on getting around and navigating seamless. I highly recommend staying at this resort. The restaurant was also amazing! I’d say that it was the best meal that we had during our stay.
The massage practitioner was not skilled. Given the prices and caliber of this facility, I expected much better. I’ve had many massages of different types and this was among the worst. The spa itself was lovely and tranquil and the staff warm and helpful. I’d come again but would hesitate to book a massage.
From the moment Linda welcomed me at the spa registration I felt special! Rodolfo is an incredible warm spirit and caring service provider! Then a dip in the pool and swimming with eyes closed was exactly what I needed! Thank you!
Had a salt stone massage and it was amazing and I feel so much better. Wish I lived nearby so i could comeback
Very nice hotel to stay in Sonoma. The concierge Elizabeth was especially helpful. She planned and booked several of our winery tours for the next day! The hotel also works with a 3rd party shipper to ship any wine you may get during visits to the many Sonoma Plaza tasting rooms. They have regular pool area but if you are without children a day pass for the spa area is a must. Multiple private pools, saunas etc. and you do not have to get a treatment although it is recommended. Restaurant and lobby bar are great burger was really good. Shuttle service to Sonoma plaza area available on demand coming and going. Sonoma golf club is available to resort guests even though it’s private.
weekend visit - the daily spa fee in addition to getting a spa treatment feels like you are really taking advantage of your client/customers - gives me pause to return again on tip of having to tip your staff at 20%.
Took the Saturday morning hike on the Sonoma Outlook Trail with Sally as our guide. It was perfect! Sally was so knowledgeable and kept thehike at a pace where we all kept up. It was stunning views and highly recommended for anyone who stays at the Fairmont.
The locker rooms were lacking anything but basic amenities. The bathroom stalls are cheap and look like they belong in a high school. No music or any atmosphere in the locker rooms. The main lounge area had uncomfortable seating and was loud with people on their cell phones. The provided refreshments were lackluster. the so-called relaxation lounge area where you could lie down on horribly uncomfortable "beds" featured a large screen with animated, garish cartoons of the northern lights with music so loud I had to ask somebody to come in and turn it down, much to the relief of everybody who was trying to get comfortable lying in one of the lounge chairs. Not to mention the main spa area smelled.....old. Overpriced, overrrated, and I will never come back. This is a shame, because SMI spa used to be a magical place with excellent services and comfortable, luxurious amenities. What a total downturn you all have taken. It is more than disappointing. It's a rip off.
Best massage ever. Room 289. Loved the people, place location
What was going to be a couples massage ended up being me waiting for my partner during his massage, while I sat in the waiting area for an hour alone. As my partner went up to his session, I was pulled aside and told that my masseuse called out last minute and they had nobody to assist me. They were able to squeeze me in an hour and a half later, but while I got massaged, now my partner was doing the waiting.
In what was supposed to be a relaxing appointment ended up being quite stressful because of time constraints and a busy itinerary we planned after. Luckily we made our later plans, but I wish I had the initial morning appointment and time to further explore the spa. The massage itself was good, but everything else was a mess.
I signed up for the 60 minute stone massage.
The spa is lovely, and Laura came and met me to bring me to the massage room..she pointed out where to hang my bag, and the warming rack got my robe. She asked me to lie down, left for a minute to give me privacy.
She returned and asked if I had problem areas .
She began her magic.
She asked often,”how’s the pressure?”
She had me do 3 big breaths
Inhale the energy-exhale the tension.
I felt pampered by an expert.
She worked on my neck and shoulder tension, making me feel relaxed and comfortable, from my head to my toes.
After the message, she met me with some water I’d requested and walked me to see the post spa experiences - sauna, steam room, warm pool, and shower
Made me realize- “I want to do this again”
Great experience!
The massage felt rushed and not the experience that I had in mind for the premium price paid. The pool is nice and the amenities of the sauna and other on site amenities are nice. But the spa service itself was not as relaxing or welcoming as I had hoped for the price paid.
It's 3.5 stars, but with the cost, I'd have to round down.
My hydrafacial (from Nancy) was very nice and the facility had plenty of seating on a Sunday afternoon. The front desk staff was wonderfully friendly. Lots of spaces to soak and relax.
The issue is that the bathhouse is so echoey and the staff (not the guests from my experience!) are so loud. I could hear laughing all the way down the hall in my treatment room and the staff were laughing and speaking loudly to each other right next to the meditation and main bathing pool. Really friendly team from what I can tell, but the cacophony made it feel more like Grand Central station. Not the noise level I was hoping for in an adults-only environment.
Some of the facility could be easily upgraded too (the laminated bathhouse instructions sign, the soapy table with the pumps for the exfoliator), but it was really the noise that made me want to put my headphones in.
Outside, you can hear sounds from the neighborhood and there are groups talking probably louder than they should at a spa, but at least the noise isn't bouncing off the walls.
There are so many amazing options that are quieter/calmer/cheaper, so while the facial was nice and staff were kind, I don't know that I'll be rushing back.
What a wonderful stay! Everyone os so friendly! The grounds are gorgeous! Room was great too!
We had an amazing dinner at Sante restaurant. Melissa, our server was fabulous. She went above and beyond to attend to all the requests and needs of one of our party. And she did it all with Grace. She’s an amazing server. And I to complement Jen the chef on a delicious meal.
Such an amazing stay! We were in Sonoma for a client hospitality trip and worked with Debbe and Cecelia and both were so amazing! Can't recommed more!
Hosted a VIP group here for NASCAR weekend and the service from Debbe was great. Private dining in Sante with Dennis and Karen was smooth and made our group feel special. Hotel has a rustic and positive energy, and the grounds are a pleasure to walk around in and enjoy.
