The staff was excellent. Rodney, the massage therapist was top notch. All the spa facilities were beautifully cared for.
We absolutely loved our experience at this historic gem of a place. Stayed in the historic main building with old world charming architecture - yet fully renovated bathrooms that still maintained the old world class marble top vanities. Loved the welcome glass of bubbly and the daily wine tastings in the main lobby - and don't miss visiting the concierge desk for helpful ideas and insights on local options of property - and Chardonnay the in house concierge golden retriever! Loved the many outdoor conversation spaces all over the property for quiet daytime reading. They also convert in the evening with fire tables to give reasons to stay outdoors after dark and enjoy the grounds. Whether you get a treatment or not (we did not for this last minute decision to visit) a day relaxing at the spa is relaxing and heavenly! Old world class meets modern gracious living! Many special thanks to Bailey, Craig and Casey who represented this property admirably ... We won't wait another 20+ years to return!
I had a fantastic relaxation massage with Laura P. She provided a terrific massage, checking in with me beforehand about any areas of my body that might need extra attention, and if there were any areas I wanted her to avoid. She also checked in with me during the massage to make sure I was comfortable with the level of pressure and touch she was using. I loved every minute of it, and found myself completely relaxed. I can't wait to come back for my next massage with her, and I'm signing up my husband to get one too! The spa area and pools were also available to extend the afterglow, if you will, while my body was still reveling in the comfort of it all!
From the very moment I arrived at the Fairmont Sonoma, I knew I was in for an amazing experience. We were personally met and greeted by the Director of Guest Services, Bailey R., who made my family and me feel incredibly welcome right from the start. The front desk staff was equally impressive—not only were they welcoming, but they were also extremely knowledgeable about the property and its history.
The highlight, however, was walking into our room. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, I was blown away by the customized amenities waiting for us. The personal touches were beautiful, especially the handwritten card from Bailey R. It’s rare to see that level of care and attention to detail, and it truly made our stay feel special.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast; the food was excellent and very tasty. The service provided by the staff was unique and attentive, making every meal a pleasure. I absolutely cannot wait to come back to this beautiful property. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable!
I booked a cabana for the day and was surprised it was at the main pool and not the spa. This was my mistake as I am sure it was listed in the confirmation. I was hoping for something more private and was directed to Sarah at the main pool to assist. I asked Sarah what options were available and she immediately called the spa to ask if my reservation could be moved. She clearly explained the cost differential and what the timing of the move would be. Sarah was thorough and ensured I knew who to speak with when checking in the at spa and who would be taking care of us for the day.
Even if Sarah had not been able to provide working options, she was incredibly professional and kind. In a world of less and less personal interaction, Sarah is the highlight of the day and what makes experiences feel worth while.
Please pass along my gratitude to Sarah and all the best to her and the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa team.
For our recent company event, we wanted to have a polished executive feel - the Fairmont absolutely delivered. I could not ask for a better event coordinator experience with Angela! From asking for extended deadlines to a last minute complicated printer job, she was absolutely on top of everything. We will surely be returning next year!
I chose the Fairmont Hotel in Sonoma for a 70th birthday celebration.
My family of 32 celebrated at the hotel and in the Sante Restaurant.
Everyone from the time I arrived treated us so well.
Bailey and Celeste were phenomenal and kind.
Bobby at the front desk took care of so many questions .
Jesus was always asking how our time at the resort was going.
The hostess Lynne was phenomenal always kind and
Attentive.
Our waiter and waitress at the chef feast were phenomenal with dealing with our large group, many which were children.
Our Chef meal was fantastic.
A special shout out to out to Karen with our meal consideration and Alicia who managed our complex room reservations.
The entire stay was delightful.
The grounds peaceful and manicured.
My 70th birthday was very special
Because of the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
Thank you all.
From start to finish I can’t say enough about our wonderful experience. Every single staff member was thoughtful and helpful. Most went beyond necessary when we had questions or needed assistance in particular, Bobby at the front desk and the manager Bailey were incredibly accommodating and gracious in their help. They elevated our stay and made us feel like the only guests there. The grounds were lovely and always clean, the spa was heavenly. Our room was so comfortable. Definitely coming back.
Alyssa was wonderful checking us in. So thoughtful and warm and welcoming. I LOVE this hotel and the spa. Literally one of the best I’ve ever been to.
Stayed at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa and the property itself is nice, but the billing experience was disappointing. The charge on my credit card did not match the final folio I received at checkout, and an additional amount appeared afterward.
I tried contacting the hotel to clarify but never received a response. For a hotel at this price point, transparent billing and basic customer support shouldn’t be this difficult.
Advice to future guests: carefully review your folio and your credit card statement — the numbers may not match.
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Fairmont Sonoma from February 17th through the 19th and the only complaint that I have is I wish I had booked a longer stay. From the moment you enter the driveway you are met with a beautiful property bursting with well managed landscapes, beautiful fountains , and flowers blooming. We were immediately met by the valet and were helped with a smile unloading our luggage and offering parking options. During our check in process Alyssa was extremely helpful and was so welcoming. She poured us some complimentary sparkling wine while she went into details about the property and answered all of our questions. When we entered our room we were so pleased with the amazing view of the garden and large trees, the spacious bathrooms and the complimentary wine from a local winery. We took advantage of the complimentary wine tasting in the gorgeous lobby then explored the grounds. Every member of the team we passed greeted us with smiles and asked us how our stay was. We then visited 38 NORTH BAR located inside the hotel. Our server was Cassius and we were thrilled with his knowledge of the menu and wine recommendations. He truly gave us next level service and had a huge smile on his face as he helped us decide what to order offering specific recommendations based on our preferences. The food was incredible and the wine selection was large as we sat in comfort enjoying our evening. We enjoyed the natural pool each evening and even during the cold and rainy weather the pool was warm and inviting. Room service was delivered quickly and with a smile and the food was brought in picnic style that was so quaint. The food was fresh and delicious. Not being very familiar with the area we visited the concierge desk and Casey was so extremely helpful. She provided maps, personalized options and discount vouchers for how to spend our afternoon in town and helped us utilize the free car service they offer into town for all guests. Matt and Christian gave us rides to and from town in the fairmont car and told us about local history with a smile. When we were done wine tasting and exploring downtown Sonoma we were picked up shortly after requesting a ride back to the hotel. We really enjoyed that featurenof our stay and the convenience. We enjoyed breakfast on our last morning at Saunte and it was probably the best breakfast we have enjoyed at a hotel. Our server Ana was extremely friendly and the service was impeccable within the bright and clean resturaunt. She even brought out some of their famous banana bread that I spoke about the whole ride home. The food was incredible. Also would love to shoutout the bellmen and housekeeping team for assisting quickly in our special requests and ensuring our stay went smoothly. If you are reading this , please immediately book your stay here. You will NOT be disappointed. We can not wait to return, but next time for much longer!
The location is beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere and plenty of amenities to go with it. The drink station with free lemon water, tea, coffee, and more was a great addition. Staff are all extremely helpful and kind.
My only complaint would be the other guests and the lack of enforcement on the quiet area. Not really into hearing these entitled people have a full volume conversation in the sauna about a private driver or just learning how to use a razer correctly. They also leave their belongings on lounge chairs for hours with them being no where to be seen and the lounge chair un usable for anyone else.
This hotel feels like a home away from home!the property is lovely with lots of places to sit and fountains everywhere. The room is spacious with a giant tub, fireplace, and balcony overlooking a garden! The bed is super comfortable with great sheets and fluffy pillows. I love the Fairmont brand,as they seem to put good service at the top of their list. After a delicious dinner in the lounge bar,our waiter Cassius walked us over to the gym,so we wouldn’t get lost! He was friendly and helpful, answering all our questions.the valet Matt was also very welcoming! You will love it here!
Rodney provided an amazing massage experience; the best I've ever had, actually. He strived to understand my goals and needs, and addressed those issues perfectly.
I stayed in the Presidential Suite this past weekend at a cost of well over $1,000 per night. I had not been to the property in several years, but when I arrived I was immediately taken back with how old and dated the property looks like. The suite was dated, but worst of all the suite is on the ground floor and there is a suite or room above it. It felt like Godzilla was staying above us with heavy noise of footsteps nearly all night long. We ate at the restaurant on site and we both had the special pasta dish. It was $40 for a bowl of pasta with crab. I ate less than a third of it, it had a funny taste and was way overpriced. The service was ok, but not great. We both utilized the spa, and both services were very good, however the same is true for the grounds at the spa. It was built in 1981 and its certainly showing its age. I stay in 5 star hotels all the time and I do not mind paying the cost, but in this case, i felt the property was not up to my standards of a 5-star hotel. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately, my responses are truthful. Overall we were disappointed.
I had the best time at the fairmont spa. My massage by Teitzah was fantastic. She was very attentive and checked in frequently. The pressure of the pure relaxation massage was excellent with her and actually worked on some of my problem areas. The spa is very relaxing and the various pools and saunas are really amazing. It is pricey but the spa is lovely.
It is quite a large property with beautiful trees & flowers
Be prepared to park your car and pay for it in addition to the room charges .
Booking.com clearly states otherwise .
The front desk was unfriendly at first and for the first night the ac / heater was not working at all . No one followed up till noon the next day until I went and met the manager in charge . He was friendly and finally we were moved to an upgraded room .
Our time at SMI couldn’t have been better. Bobby, front desk, made sure everything was perfect for me and my family. All details were tended to so all we needed to do was relax and enjoy every moment at this exceptional resort.
I would like to thank you for the wonderful experience I had at the hotel’s beauty salon.
Everything was absolutely amazing.
I would especially like to thank Moustafa Helad, who was extremely kind and polite. He did a wonderful blow-dry on my hair — it was perfect!
I highly recommend that anyone visiting Egypt stay at the Fairmont Hotel and enjoy the spa.
