I wish we would have stayed closer to the beach
Pros:

For an older hotel they try to keep it hip. The outside area looked fun for people who have kids

Cons:

Way over priced for being so far from the beach. The rooms were like from the 80s, outdated. If you have a balcony room you can see and hear everything going on in the court yard area. Beds were a little stiff.

Great value for money
Pros:

Stayed 1 night at the Hotel Hermosa in June. The hotel itself is on a busy corner, with a few restaurants within walking distance. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a small balcony.
The shared lobby space was very cool. Lots of space inside with tic-tac-toe games. The outdoor deck area with giant connect-4 and corn hole games were a big hit with the kids.

Overall, our stay was okay, but there were a few disappointing aspects.

First, charging $5 per bottle of water in the room is not what I'd expect from a hotel at this price point. Complimentary bottled water is a basic hospitality gesture, especially considering that the hotel is far from inexpensive.

Second, I was charged an additional $40 without any explanation, on top of the $200 deposit for our two rooms, which I also haven't received back yet. A clear breakdown of all charges should be provided at checkout.

We did use the hotel parking and stayed for three nights before checking out. If the $40 charge is related to parking or any other service, it should have been clearly explained in advance or at checkout.

Another inconvenience was that the hotel doesn't accept cash payments, which wasn't clearly communicated beforehand. Guests should be informed of this policy before arrival to avoid any surprises.

Overall, the lack of transparency with charges and the absence of basic hospitality touches, like complimentary water, made the experience less enjoyable than expected. These are simple improvements that would significantly enhance the guest experience.

Pokoje czyste, wyposażone w najpotrzebniejsze rzeczy. Wygodne łóżko, pomimo balkonu od strony ulicy przy zamkniętych oknach było bardzo cicho. Dobra lokalizacja do zwiedzania LA.

Excellent! Always is!!
Pros:

Hotel Hermosa and the staff continue to provide an excellent experience for me when I travel to Southern California. Convenient, clean, comfortable, and easy in and out. Always works for me and I am thankful. Close to the water if I want to get some exercise and a nice view to the ocean too. Price is generally very competitive and fair even though the parking is $35 a night, it works well. Thank you for making this one of the best hotels for me in the area.

Pros:

Katie at the front desk was exceptional in her assistant to me and provided excellent service! Everyone was kind and inviting. It was an absolute pleasure staying at this property. I plan on bringing my family here for a weekend.

Cons:

I do wish the property was a beach front however, I understand the location.
