Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel

Extremely clean and very quiet. Location was convenient to transportation and walking.

Absolutely wonderful! I am so happy to have found this great hotel through Booking.com. First of all, the location was absolutely perfect - just steps to Basel's Old Town, a short walk to the train station (12 min or so) and also has a direct bus from outside the hotel to the train station, which made things very convenient. The hotel itself was lovely - modern and extremely clean. The staff was welcoming and much to our surprise and pleasure, our rooms were available an hour before check in. The reception staff offered free welcome drinks, provided Basel City cards and detailed maps and suggestions for us for us prior to us going out to explore the city. The breakfast was not included in our stay but looked nice. The breakfast area, however, included coffee and tea for guests and there is also a beautiful outdoor garden area where we were able to sit and visit with friends who live in the area and came to see us. There are several size/bed configuration room options and the linens (towels and sheet) were fresh and spotless. We booked two rooms - a small double/queen bed for my husband and I, and a separate room for our 3 young adult/teen kids. We happened to be there on my husband's birthday and, that morning, one of the cleaning staff knocked on the door with a gift bag of Lindt Chocolates and a handwritten card. The hotel already had great reviews when we booked, but completely exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely choose this hotel again and will recommend it to anyone visiting Basel.

Location in the city is great. Close to private parking and public transit.
Also, it was quiet in the room, despite being in the city center.
Breakfast had variety and was tasteful.
The wine from reception was good, too.

Location was very good for our one night stay. Parking convenient, and Old Town just steps away.

Nice breakfast and proximity to the town and trains.... cute space.

A localização do hotel é, sem dúvida, um dos seus maiores trunfos, permitindo explorar o centro histórico de Basileia com total facilidade e rapidez a pé. A experiência de estadia é enriquecida por um serviço de excelência, destacando-se a extrema simpatia e disponibilidade tanto da funcionária da receção como do funcionário responsável pela zona de pequenos-almoços. Quanto ao quarto, surpreende pelas dimensões generosas e pelo excelente nível de equipamento; a cortesia de café e chá, a par da disponibilização de roupões, revela uma atenção ao detalhe que garante um conforto superior ao hóspede.

This hotel in downtown Basel was “ practically perfect in every way.” The staff was welcoming and helpful. The location is great. A short walk and a climb down numerous steps gets you right into the Marketplatz- the old town. The trams run continuously. They are clean, smooth, quiet and safe. And they are free for hotel guests . Breakfast is a delightful buffet with a charming host. The rooms are immaculately clean and have all necessities and extras like remote controlled blackout shades. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. But my favorite feature, beside the helpful staff, was the private garden courtyard. It had beautiful trees and plants, a water feature and ample tables and chairs. After a day of sightseeing it was a wonderful place to relax.

Hotel situato in posizione ideale, molto vicino al centro storico e tutte le principali attrazioni turistiche della città. Comodissimo anche per chi arriva in treno alla stazione Basel SBB essendo l'hotel a una sola fermata di distanza dalla stazione con il bus 30 che lascia, in pratica, avanti all'albergo. Colazione buona, non particolarmente ricca sul dolce. Personale molto gentile e disponoibile.

Otel ile tren garı arasında 1 durak mesafe vardı ve hemen gardan kalkan otobüs ile otel önüne inebildik. Otelin sağladığı Basel kart ile tüm şehir içi ulaşımını kolayca sağladık. Görülecek yerlere yürüme mesafesindeydi. Odanın temizliği iyiydi. Yatak konforluydu. Kahve makinası mevcuttu. Resepsiyondaki arkadaştan şarap açmak için tirbuşon rica ettim, güler yüzle yardımcı oldu ve ayrıca hemen 2 adet şarap kadehi verdi. Konaklama için teşekkür ederiz.
