Great stay and literally next to the train station and the Mannlichen cable car so everything was super convenient and walkable. I didnt get to tey the spa but their restaurant was delicious and they give you 10% off which was great.

First of all, the property is in Wengen and not in Lauterbrunnen as listed on Expedia. It takes a 25 mins cable car ride to reach Wengen from Lauterbrunnen. Starting with positives. Exceptional location. Its right across the Wengen train station and mins away from the Mannlichen cable car. The staff is amazing - polite and welcoming and responsive to all requests. Good breakfast & they have washer & dryer on site. So thats a plus. Now the cons. Its is supposedly a 4-star property but it is more like a cheap US motel. Very dated. Small rooms but that is expected in Europe. Uncomfortable mattress, flat pillows (we had to use two), and no extra blankets. There were very few plug points and were located in inconvenient places. No coffee machine but instant coffee with powdered milk was available. Cherry on the top was cable of the kettle. It was 6-inch long with no plug point near it!!! We had to bend over and reach under the table to plug in the kettle to heat the water!! Smallest bathrooms, no conditioner and shampoo + body wash that converted hair into hay. So it really depends on your expectations. We paid for a 4 star property and expected one. If we had known the condition of the place, we would have chosen another place.

Great location for people watching and so close to train station. Breakfast was superb. No AC but having balcony window and door open took care of it at night. Central to travel Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.

The location was outstanding, merely steps away from the train in a much quieter area of Jungfrau. The staff was fantastic. Friendly, warm, and very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was simply unbelievable and reason alone to stay here. Yes, the traditional breakfast food is available with quality, but Prosecco, smoked salmon, fresh Brie. Not just one day, everyday! Outstanding. The Spa too was a great experience.

My only issue, and it’s a big one, the mattress in the room I stayed in, was the second worst I’ve ever slept on. Zero support, and like the pillows, way too soft.

Pros:

This was our favourite hotel so far in our 2 week trip from London to Paris to Switzerland. Nothing bad to say. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very very friendly and accomodating including at the breakfast which was one of the best we've had any any hotel. For us, the location was great for views over Lauterbrunnen, short travel to Interlaken and Eine Sheidegg.
