Feels like a boutique hotel. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Easy access from the highway but no highway noise. No dining options nearby and there's not much in Chariton overall. Especially liked the huge Roku TV and high water pressure. My wife and I didn't care for the taste of the local tap water but luckily we found the filtered water dispenser near the breakfast area. A couple of quirks - you're given a code you have to enter to unlock your room. This took some getting used to and could be difficult for seniors and visually impaired. Maybe offer RFID where you just hold a card to the lock? Also, we discovered that if you don't shut the door completely, it beeps occasionally. Finally, the front desk staffing is interesting as it was empty when we checked in on a Friday afternoon. There was a sign to call the hotel number and our employee was upstairs vacuuming but came down to check us in right away. Also, the front desk isn't staffed after 9pm. I ended up getting "locked out" as I couldn't understand how to use my room door code to unlock the front door. I called the staff number and still couldn't figure it out. Fortunately, another guest was in the lobby, and I showed her my key "card" and she let me in and told me how to unlock the front door. The game room and outdoor fire pit and pickleball court looked nice, although we didn't use them. I would stay there again!

Clean room and property. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the game room.
I booked a jacuzzi suite for my son and his new bride to stay at the night of their wedding after the tornado wiped out the cabins at Red Haw. When I went to get their room keys before the wedding, I found out that their room had been given to someone else, so we had to get them a lesser room. That was the first mess up, the second was the clerk banging on the counter with her fists while cussing the computer and her coworkers and thirdly, she dropped the name of the person she says asked for upgrade and took the room. The person happened to be in the wedding party and relatives of the bride. When I chatted with them later, they said they were offered the upgrade even though the clerk that helped them knew the room was booked.
Exposing the name of a current patron of a hotel is also NOT OKAY!
Will not stay again! Unacceptable all around!
Room was exceptionally clean, you could eat off of any surface in that room including the floor it was so clean. Cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Plus the service was amazing. They checked me in at 10:00 am instead of 3:00 as I had a funeral to go to and wouldn’t be able to get back until late that night. I would more than recommend this hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Super 8, Chariton, Iowa. We were in the area for a get together with family and friends. The hotel is well taken care of and our room was very spacious and clean. The housekeeping department did a superb job. It's very seldom that my husband and I spend much time in a hotel room other than to shower and sleep. I'm happy if the bed is comfy and the room is clean and this hotel delivered on both points. We would definitely stay here again!
Our room was clean and cozy. Nothing fancy but comfortable. Front desk was excellent told us how and where to order pizza which was also very good.Shower was great. Bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay again. This place was also very safe
I reserved a room through the Wyndham website and was informed that there was 48 hour cancellation. This is ridiculous to begin with, this place is not the Ritz Carleton. Nevertheless, I didn't anticipate any issues so I agreed to the terms. But 24 hours before my stay I found out my wife was being hospitalized and I needed to get home. I called the Super 8 and asked if, under the circumstances, they could let me cancel with no charge. The girl said yes, not a problem because of the situation.
Well, you guessed it, they charged my credit card anyway. I guess the greedy foreign owners didn't want to miss out on a buck. I will never stay here again
