Contemptuous response by management to my complaint
Pros:

Location was great. Staff were lovely

Cons:

The loss of electricity, air conditioning and/or water on 3 out of 7 nights and the management’s absolute refusal to offer compensation.

Very relaxing environment.
Pros:

Very clean offered a calm relaxing environment. There were a good number of staff who were very attentive which made for a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this has been one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had.

Before my arrival, on 4 July, I contacted the hotel to request the room shown in the photographs. I received an email stating that I would be able to choose my room, but the link provided did not work. Despite making my expectations clear before arrival, I was allocated a room with a side sea view rather than the front-facing room advertised.

I was told in the morning that the situation would be reviewed and that I would be shown another room when I returned later that day. When I came back at around 6 p.m., it was clear that the issue had not been handed over to the afternoon staff. I had to explain everything again, which was frustrating after a long day.

The most disappointing part of my stay was the attitude of the reception manager, Simone. Rather than trying to resolve the issue, she told me that if I was not happy with the service by, they would charge me for the two nights already booked and return the remaining balance so that I could find another hotel. This was said at around 6 p.m., after I had already spent two days unable to enjoy my holiday because of the ongoing room dispute. By that point I had already been disappointed, misled, and had lost two days of my stay. Suggesting that I should leave at that hour and find alternative accommodation was completely unreasonable and left me feeling humiliated.

To make matters worse, my belongings were moved to another room at the back of the hotel without my agreement. That room was significantly worse than the one I had originally been given and was not an acceptable solution.

I booked a Deluxe Sea View room, paying around €500 for the first night with breakfast included, and I have another five nights booked for approximately €1,800. As a frequent traveller, I expected a professional approach to resolving a genuine concern rather than being made to feel that I should simply leave.

The rooms

Cons:

The staff ruined the stay completely. We were a group all staying in separate rooms and the pool staff would refuse to take orders individually as it was ‘too much work’. They made us feel uncomfortable. The hotel is nice to look at and the rooms are passable, but not a 5* due to the staff. Would not return and it did ruin the trip.
