Fort William Henry Hotel

Fantastic experience in a beautiful, pristine hotel. Pool & sauna, area well maintained and clean. Views are magnificent. Front desk staff outstanding! Mother's Day Brunch superb! I cannot say enough about the hospitality extended to me and my family including a 4 yr. old and an 8 week old! The resort is a must for Lake George travelers! We will be back!

This is one of my favorite places to be! From the cleanliness of the hotel, to the courteous and entertaining ghost stories from the staff I look forward to coming here every year. The location could not be better! I always get the premium Lakeview rooms. You can see Lake George and the mountains and the fairies and are literally in the heart of Lake George. You do not need a car staying here. You can walk to anywhere in Lake George from this property. The atmosphere is super welcoming and the staff does anything to go out of their way to keep you happy! I absolutely love the cock at the Lakeside restaurant. He’s amazing and the food is the best in the area. You cannot beat the price I spent around $200 for a Lakeview 2 bed queen room. My room was super clean and very updated. The staff could not be nicer! I love the reenactment they have in March with the battles and beverages! The history of the fort is incredible and the reenactment they do with the Canon firing and the guns are just super entertaining. Excellent place for a couple couples family and even just being by yourself. A very beautiful safe and serene place to be.

Room was clean and the complimentary cookies, wonderful. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Restaurant and bar great food and beverages. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks FWH Hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times. It is one of the prettiest properties with a magnificent view of the lake. The staff is really wonderful. We actually came in the middle of a power outage and they were amazing at taking care of the guests in a tough situation.

The hotel is not new but it is well kept and you can’t beat the old world vibe. There is a veranda with rocking chairs where you can enjoy the beautiful views while having a drink. There is an expansive lawn where you can stroll while looking at the lake. A lovely restaurant with views and fire pits to relax in cool evenings.

Beautiful hotel with a homey but modern feel. Very clean and comfortable, not only in the room but in the lobby and public areas. Pool is nice and warm and also clean. Very friendly and professional staff. Conveniently located on the main strip, near restaurants, shops, and activities for the whole family. We look forward to return in the warmer months to experience the lake-side amenities and activities too!

We have been visiting Lake George for over 40 years. We recently went there for the winter carnival and booked a room at The Fort William Henry. We were assigned a room in the older building which was fine. The room was clean and spacious. The only issue was that when the heat was running, the noise was crazy and that kept us up most of the night. The next morning, we visited the front desk and the kind gentleman who was working that morning was so wonderful and understanding. He moved us to a room in the new building which had a beautiful view of the lake. We couldn’t have been more grateful! He was so professional and kind. Our stay was outstanding and everyone we ran into was so friendly and warm. The breakfast in The White Lion room was fabulous as it always is. We love staying here and love the family feel we get when we are guests of this hotel.

We stayed in the deluxe room facing, I would have given a four but not happy that the staff at 7:00 AM every morning utilizes a loud diesel 4x4 to to get from A to B. Why not use golf cart?
The gutter just outside our room was leaking onto the concrete.

Don’t stay here! They were doing construction next to my room and refused to change me to different room. The food and service in the restaurant is terrible.

Everything was great from the receptionist at the desk booking our room to breakfast at the restaurant. The pool is so warm I could stay in it all day! Hot tub was great and it's nice it also had a sauna! It was so close to the village so we could just walk and leave our car in its spot. All in all it was a great stay. No complaints at all!!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Fort William Henry! The room was spotless and very comfortable, providing the perfect home base for our trip. Our mountain view and fireplace in the room made it very comfy and memorable. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, especially Amanda at check-in. The location was ideal, within walking distance for all the Winter Events. We especially loved the Super Bowl buffet and will definitely be back!"

Located in the heart of Lake George. Very touristy but beautiful area with lots to do year round. The hotel itself is more like a motel. Our room was in the wing off of the main building. We went to a wedding in the nearby carriage house . For the most part it was clean, definitely could do with some repairs. The beds were fairly comfortable, linens and pillows of average quality . Heater worked well and wasn’t too noisy. The bathroom however was freezing. Shower was ok. The floor was like a sheet of ice, I had to wear my boots while I dried my hair and did my face. They should provide a little space heater for the bathroom in the winter months. That being said I did not ask for one either. Bathroom door was basically a thick piece cardboard on sliding barn door hardware. Made things pretty uncomfortable as you could hear a pin drop through that door! You could also hear people in the bathroom behind ours….. very, very clearly. Happy that they were really enjoying themselves, just wasn’t crazy about listening to their joy over and over again. The staff were very nice. Wedding venue was lovely. In my opinion the rooms are overpriced considering what they are. Perhaps the rooms in the main building are nicer. Places like this, in this kind of area let quality slip down and keep prices up because they can. Location, Location, Location! Sad but true and they won’t even care about my review.

Simply the best place to stay in the region. Beautiful, immaculate building. Staff goes out of their way to make everything nice. You need to stay here!

I can’t speak for the main hotel but the additional hotel buildings stink. We thought we were getting a special room by paying extra for a lake view room but the room was a glorified motel room. Stucco walls and ceiling. The AC unit was not properly insulated and the room was freezing. There was a huge storm coming and we asked two days before our arrival if we could have a credit to reschedule because of the snow storm and they said no. So we went anyway thinking we’d weather the storm in a cozy room and enjoy the heated pool. But the pool is in the main hotel so we would have had to go outside in 5° weather and snow to walk to the pool and back. We wound up leaving early.

My husband and I needed a night away. We stayed lake side. The room was nice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We even ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant on site. Meals were outstanding. The only down side I would have to say is that the indoor pool was too cold to go in. Other than that, My husband and I had a great stay.

It was very clean all the staff were very friendly and helpful it was a very enjoyable stay and experience I highly recommend fort William Henry hotel it was so relaxing and pleasant during my stay and the amenities were wonderful

We love visiting Lake George winter and summer. We have stayed at Fort William Henry many times over many years but had not been back for five years. Our recent visit was so nice and the staff could not be more pleasant. There is nothing like viewing the southern basin as ice begins to form while having breakfast in the dining room. The best view on the lake. Breakfasts were delicious and reasonably priced. Beds are comfortable and our lake view room was spotless and quiet. Hope to be back for carnival this year.

We stayed with a group of friends on NYE. The staff was so accommodating. Christine even put decorations in my friend's room for me who had just retired and the next morning at breakfast Theresa was very friendly serving my table even tho additional couples kept joining us and they clearly seemed understaffed.

My wife, toddler and I stayed overnight in the Grand Hotel in a room with a king size bed, sofa and whirlpool bathtub. I had won this stay with breakfast as part of a cool raffle basket they donated to a suicide prevention fundraiser which right away I looked up at a business supporting such an important cause. The hotel was very accommodating from checking if we needed a pack and play when I was making the reservation to telling us about lanterns incase power went out during the ice storm (it did not but that was great to know!).
