Darlene the barkeep is awesome

Darlene from the tiki bar has exceeded my expectations. She was very kind and helpful and overall very friendly and enjoyable to talk to. The drinks she made for me and my friend were amazing and i found myself coming back for a second one, when i did we both asked for a recommendation and she whipped up something that we both enjoyed. 10/10 experience, 10/10 person, 10/10 drinks.

I stayed for four nights (Sunday through Thursday) after booking the Early Week Deal in a suite. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the moment I checked in.

One of the advertised benefits of my package was a $100 credit to Loco Gecko. In addition, I purchased an extra $50 credit. At check-in, I was only given the $50 credit. I returned the following day, and it took approximately 30 minutes for staff to investigate the issue. They eventually added the $100 credit but, in the process, removed the $50 credit I had paid for. It ultimately took a third visit before the problem was finally corrected.

The room itself was also below expectations. It had a strong musty odor, there was visible mold on the curtain, and we found two roaches during our stay. The overall cleanliness of the property appeared to be lacking.

The pool experience was equally frustrating. By 8:00 a.m., every lounge chair was "reserved" with towels or personal items, yet many remained unoccupied for extended periods. This made it nearly impossible to find seating despite the chairs not actually being in use.

We also purchased the reusable souvenir cups, expecting to take advantage of the unlimited refills. However, the soda machines were frequently out of several beverages. When we asked the restaurant staff if they could refill our cups, they accommodated us once, but on a later visit the bartender rolled her eyes and remarked that it "wasn't her job."

Most disappointing was the lack of responsiveness from management. I raised these concerns multiple times throughout my stay, yet no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issues or improve our experience.

Overall, the property did not meet the standards I expected. Between the repeated service issues, cleanliness concerns, and lack of customer care, this was not an enjoyable stay, and I left feeling that my concerns were largely ignored.

The room was clean and comfortable. The pool and water park were great. Friendly staff. The price was very reasonable.
We will stay again.

Always get good rooms but this time we were located right across from the elevators and that was a little clustered coming out of our room but we still had a great time. Also wanted to mention staff Sophia at loco gecko who provided excellent service and bartender Darlene great service also

Forget what bad review you’ve seen or heard, this hotel was amazing for my family and I. The workers are endlessly working to keep the place clean, esp at the pools. Lots of staff available at the pool to assist in safety swimming and rules being followed. Everyone staff was so polite and helpful. The rooms were updated and so nice. My husband loved the AC the most. Even with the beach renovations going on, hotel was still making it fun and a great time for all guests. The family package offers when booking was a great day.

Sophia was an absolute delight! She ensured we had everything we needed/wanted, and had the sweetest personality! Truly a wonderful server!!

The pool and beach for the kids

I visited the Grab N Go inside the resort. The female worker behind the counter was incredibly unprofessional. She made judgmental faces at me while serving me, which made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I’m very disappointed with this customer service and hope management addresses her behavior. I don’t know her name, but if I had to describe her, she was an African American woman with long black hair. However, for the most part, the resort was a great place to stay, and we would definitely visit again.

Excellent breakfast at the Loco Gecko. Sophia was an amazing waitress. She enlightened our crew on many local spots to try.

Room wasn’t ready until 4 pm (advertised check in time). We went to the pool at this time. Had to change in a bathroom in the arcade that was hot and disgusting. The toilet seat had feces on it. The lazy river was disgusting with trash floating in it. The pools were similar. Couldn’t use the beach at the hotel as it was under construction from the Army Corp of Engineers. Could use the beach 3 hotels south of us. The construction caused the water to be dark and muddy. Many guests leaving the beach due to this. Very small snack bar/gift shop with no attendant on duty. TV’s were difficult to use. Continual pop-ups on the tv with verification codes from other guests trying to connect to gaming/viewing platforms via hotel WiFi. The pumping system for pools were located at the water slide area and was very loud creating a negative experience. Not the luxurious experience advertised. Over all a negative vacation.

Darlene was awesome and very accommodating at the Tiki Bar!

We had a great time from beginning to end, we highly recommend going here, while there you need to visit Darlene at the tiki but, she's awesome, go visit the Loco Gecko for breakfast and let Sophia wait on you, you won't be disappointed
