Great family holiday
Pros:

Had a wonderful family weekend with my daughter and husband. We had a huge family room with 2 double beds and plenty of space for all of our stuff! The bar had a great selection of drinks, and the summer cocktails were fab. Breakfast was a selection of continental with fresh fruits, yoghurts and pastries, and cereal for my little one. We also had a great full English on both mornings we were there. The poached eggs are highly recommended! Thanks to the lovely team for a great stay, they could not be more helpful, and made us feel right at home! We will be sure to return!!

A lovely stay and enjoyed the quietness of the location.
Pros:

The room was clean and bed good. The shower was very good and lovely bathroom. A personal view the room was rather dark due to the wallpaper which I felt not suitable for a bedroom, but overall enjoyed our stay. The staff were great especially at breakfast always smiling and helpful so thank you. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices.

Cons:

No complaints really.

I’ve given up
Pros:

As much as I’ve tried to look past the obvious failings of this hotel, the dirty rooms and bathrooms, the lack of aircon, the miserly toiletries, the unpleasant bar and the awful breakfasts. I just can’t do it anymore.

Today’s breakfast was the final straw. Full English with soft poached eggs. I ask for soft poached eggs specifically because every other time they’ve come solid as a rock. Today the yolk was runny! Amazing. Unfortunately the whites were also runny, the sausage and hash brown was burned, and the tomato seared but uncooked.

I give up. There are plenty of better alternatives for the same or less.

The restaurant was closed for lunch and supper during the visit but served a good breakfast.
Fantastic room on the ground floor with views over the square.
The visit coincided with hot weather. The fan that was provided was very much appreciated.

Excellent stay, very clean, great breakfast & parking
Pros:

The location of the hotel was great, very central. I room was big enough and bathroom was good. Very clean and comfortable.

Cons:

This is not the hotel fault as no air con in room, normal British temperatures would have been fine, they did though placed a fan in the room. Thank uou

Disappointing stay although a beautiful hotel
Pros:

The building is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The building is old and really did not handle the heat well during the heatwave. There is no temperature control in the room, just a small fan. The single room is very small and the shower kept switching between cold and hot for no reason and you could hear the water running down the sink opposite the shower. There was also no marks on the shower to show which way is hot and which way is cold which had me fiddling with it for a bit. The wall inside the room also had weird paint markings on it which was bizarre. Tiny details that make a huge difference! Breakfast was good, but the poached egg was a disaster. For a 4 star hotel, that is highly disappointing.

The price overall was way too high for a single room with so many issues. A double maybe, but a single, definitely not. Disappointing unfortunately.
