Overall great!
Pros:

Very pet friendly- great cafe at end of drive, super helpful staff

Cons:

Door lock was wonky. Staff showed me what to do but always worried I couldn’t get back in- especially on 0 dark 30 dog walks!!!

A Property in Decline
Pros:

I understand that this hotel was recently sold, and there have been some changes since the sale, none of them good. We have been visiting Freeport for more than a decade and we always stayed here because it is a dog-friendly property. On our most recent visit, the room smelled as though someone had been cooking meals in it, there was damage to the wall in the bathroom and the trash can for pet waste, which was full on our first night, was overflowing when we returned on our way home. This hs always been our go-to when we visit Freeport, but we may stay elsewhere next time.

Great value, close to highway and Portland!
Pros:

Great location, close to the highway and Portland for show nights. The biggest benefit is the breakfast cafe in the parking lot, although it can be hard to get a table without a wait on the weekends because it’s so good!

Cons:

For the money, it’s hard to find anything not to like.

Outside building keys did not work. Staff rude.

Cons:

Was in more remote part of hotel a half mile down the road. The keys to the outside door did not work even after replacing them more than once (having to drive back to desk). this was the case for several other guests we spoke with. Staff rather rude in addressing this issue. Outside pet trash has not been emptied for what appeared to be a week. Map to remote building did not account for construction blocking the drive into the building meaning we had to drive past and then turn around somewhere in order to pull into the building. Rather confusing. This was not expained at check-in.

a/c was broken, refrigerator rattled all night, when I confronted clerk in the morning, she just smiled and said "have a nice day" Upwards of $200 a night............Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't stay at BW again...........

It was okay, but I wouldn't stay there again.
Pros:

The room was clean.

Cons:

The beds were uncomfortable. The ice machine at the entrance wasn't working right and made the hallway about 90 degrees. The hotel knew about it. A machine heating up like that tells me it wasn't working right. I was a little worried about a fire hazard.

I'd stay here again but reserve a room for the other side by the closed restaurant.
Pros:

After spending two very hot days in NYC at a hotel with AC that didn't work very well, it was a welcome relief to have a room with a fully functional AC.

Cons:

The entry/stairway was hot...just opening the windows might helped cool it down at night.

Clean, affordable but fancy, and fun
Pros:

We ended up needing to stay an extra night in our room. Another night was added with no problems. The room was very nice and the price was extremely reasonable, especially for the room we had.

Cons:

The location across the river is slightly confusing at first, but once you find it, it's easily accessible. We didn't know that there were two buildings.
