Fabulous Holiday
Pros:

The Reef Club was amazing. The apartment had everything we needed for a week's holiday. The pool area was so relaxing and the beach was only a short walk away. The management were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Will definitely be returning next year.

Very disappointing

We booked an apartment for 5 people, on arrival there were only beds for 4 people. (We arrived after 5 and there was no one in reception)we used the phone in the lobby to be connected to someone, who said they couldn't help us and gave us another number to ring, we did this twice with no answer.
One of our group had to sleep on a small stained couch, there was no linen or towel. I made a complaint to the property, I feel we are owed a refund, after all we paid up front for 5 beds and didn't receive them. In response to my complaint the property told me they didn't receive any calls from us (although we spoke to someone, and my recent phone call log shows 2 calls to the number they gave us) They have already ripped us off and given us a very uncomfortable night, now they are accusing us of lying.OMG talk about make your blood boil.

Horrendous, unhealthy and dangerous
Pros:

My elderly parents (84 and 87) stayed in Unit 33 at Reef Club. The first night the smoke detector was going off (for no apparent reason and through no fault of their own), but they could not get hold of the manager (Jose) so they had to put up with it all night. The following day the manager disconnected the smoke detector and the apartment was without one for the two weeks they were there. A few days in there was a burst water pipe in the complex and if flooded some of the apartment. My parents were forced to sleep in the second bedroom and keep putting towels down over saturated carpet. Trades people came and went for the two weeks and my parents had to leave the apartment open and airing 24 hours a day. No suitable alternative accommodation was offered and despite the manager saying they should be entitled to a refund, none was forthcoming. Both my parents and I have tried to get a refund, but the manager (Jose) and unit 33 owner have tried to avoid responsibility, even though they received the booking payment. My mum came home very sick from the wet environment and had to go on multiple courses of anti-biotics. My advice do not stay in Unit 33 or any apartment managed by the manager Jose because if you have a problem with the apartment they don’t care.

Beautiful visit with all amenities you could want
Pros:

A really nice place to stay. Lovely spacious two bedrooms with open plan kitchen dining and lounge. Lovely private patio area off our lounge with table and chairs for us to have a glass of wine out there in peace. Beautiful heated swimming pool which we could enjoy. Lovely to laze out there during the day. Great bbq area to use also. Good location to the beach a couple of minutes away. Both Lea and husband Joe were very helpful and accommodating with anything we asked about. Would really recommend this place to stay.

Pros:

Great location, good value, staff very friendly and happy to suggest great day trips. Room not as clean as last time we stayed, but that could be a bad day for the cleaner. Think rooms vary on whether owners have updated or not.

Very noisy with apartment door closer slamming a problem throughout the day, evening and early morning. The minimal quantity of consumables provided, one days in some cases and weren’t replaced during our 10 night stay. The sheet or mattress protector smelt of ligament The apartment appeared clean on first impression but Spider webs and dust, crumbs etc were found in corners and in the wardrobe.and drawers

Pros:

The property was close to beach and pool was ok, but accomadation was not great.
Dirty, cobwebs beside bedside cabinets,
No fan in bathroom
Door stopped working and couldnt get in room, no one to help straight away. Turns out batteries in door lock was dead.
Only one change of linen, towels in the 8 days i was there.
Luck of the draw if you got a apartment that the individual owners had some pride in. Most were very dated and just as bad
I would not stay there again and have been to Port douglas 11 times. Never had experience like it.
