Staff were very disinterested with no real service at all tbh. The Champagne breakfast wasn’t really “offered” and multiple moments at reception had no service offered at all. Very self serve which really let the whole experience down.

The price was high during to the Monterey car week but it fell on our anniversary so its not their fault.

The mattress was too soft, and 1 side had a dip. Also, the only ventilation is the window that is adjacent to the walkway, so it didn't feel safe to keep the window open at night.

The staff. It says it has parking but is a lie. The arming is only if available. The slots are not as many for the rooms. And they can’t care less if is late at night and you don’t find a place. The breakfast is very limited. It only offers American coffee. For the price you pay is a joke. But maybe that’s the vibe in California for things to be overpriced and overrated.

Indifferent and impersonal front desk staff, it was shocking how bad the hospitality was and how much of a negative vibe much of the staff gave off. The breakfast staff was nice but the front desk literally made us check in at 4pm even though check in is it 3, and when we inquired when it would be ready we got a “I don’t know”. Social media marketing also heavily skewed the expectations here and I felt scammed at how depressing of a place it was.

A motel feel, despite renovations. For 700/night not worth the price.

When we arrived we noticed that the toilet was running and making noises. We told the staff and they said that they would have someone fix it. We came back in the evening and went to bed. The running water from the toilet kept us up. In the morning, we told the lady at the front and she said she had no record of this being fixed, but would send someone up to fix it. There was no apology or empathy. When I spend good money on a place, I expect better customer service. When I left the following morning, I discussed this with the gentleman at the front, who so happened to be the one that I told about the issue on the first night. He said he did tell someone etc. He apologized and said that the manager would contact me about this on Monday. I have yet to hear from them. I understand that things break, but how it was handled was not good. This is also the first time that I ever wrote a negative review and for me to do this says a lot.

It is a very noisy hotel, because it is an older motel redone, there is nothing they can do about the noise I assume. You can hear everyone taking outside your room, doors slamming, cars in the parking lot, people walking around upstairs and just talking in general. Also the rooms are nicely done but again they are small and there is no counter space in the bathrooms. It is Carmel and pricey.
