Short Stories Hotel

As always a great place to stay. Welcomed us with Prosecco and juice. Love that it's right across from The Grove and the Farmer's Market which provide plenty of dining options, which means it doesn't matter than the onsite options are limited. However this also meant we could use the Expedia amenity as we were only around one night and didn't eat at the restaurant.

Very walkable and safe area. We walked 20 minutes to Bacio di Latte and felt fine doing so. Lots of upscale dining nearby as well.

Rooms are very cute with a seating area and lots of books. A ton of personality here.

The room was really stylish and cute. The staff were friendly. There is shopping and restaurants right across the streer. I picked the location for its proximity to Universal Studios.

The walls are thin; I can hear the neighbors talking. Hallways and rooms are not carpeted so noise travels very easily. The hotel does provide complementary earplugs. It smells like cigarette smoke in the bathroom which I think was coming through the venfs.

Overall, besides those cons it is really nice place to stay.

Overall good hotel. My room had a hallway light right out front of it that spilled into my room was so it wasn’t possible to get fully pitch black. But otherwise a nice hotel

Wonderful location and nice, stylish rooms. Check-in was friendly and helpful. Great housekeeping. Carafe of water in the room was appreciated. Valet staff was great, particularly the person working in the mornings. I wish we were able to recycle bottles. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to extend my check-out by a half-hour. I know that this is never guaranteed or owed, but the person at the front desk was a bit dismissive about it. It is also disappointing that the hotel is "cashless" -- this hurts housekeeping and valet when it comes to tips. Otherwise, though, a great stay.

Rooms were so spacious clean and very well curated. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets were top notch.

Restaurant and outdoor area is a vibe for sure.

The location was great and it was clean

I liked the quiet and comfortable inner outdoor courtyard and the daily available coffee. Room was ample and somewhat basic, but comfortable with a large screen TV and couch and table, in a junior suite in the south building. The AC was adequate but disturbing as it switched on and off. Terrific location right next to the Grove - ideal location for everything I wanted, though would have to leave the property for breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.

This property will be my #1 pick when I’m in this area of LA. The staff is kind, genuinely helpful and actively tries to make the customer experience as close to perfect as you can get. The charm is lovely and inviting. The room amenities are fantastic as well. Close to great food and shopping. Well done Short Stories!

The patio and bar were very inviting and the food and drinks were delicious.

Only one issue with the property. The shower door leaked. So I always had pudding on the floor after a shower.

The great, the staff was friendly. The room is comfortable and quiet. The restaurant has great food. A great coffee and donut place is within walking distance. The Farmers Market offers a wide variety of cuisine to eat. A great Thai place is also in walking distance.

Excellent staff, they’re all very friendly and helpful. Room was good, some minor plumbing issues but nothing substantially major to cause any problems during my stay. Bed is on the harder side if that’s something you’re interested in or concerned about. Overall, a convenient and comfortable stay for a week.

Unique and stylish hotel near Farmer’s Market. The patio is lovely, the rooms nicely decorated, even though for four people a little bit on the small side. The pool has good depth, but is also on the smaller side. The staff is absolutely lovely and accomodating.

Great stay, hotel was great. Everything at the hotel was well presented and very clean. The staff were friendly and treated us well. The hotel was well positioned for many activities LA has to offer. Property was in a safe location and we felt comfortable to walk around the streets surrounding the hotel.
