Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo by IHG

We stayed here for 5 nights in a king high floor room. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in - beautiful bedroom and common areas. We had a fantastic 2 course breakfast included with lots of choices. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the hotel. Enjoyed the rooftop bar with expansive views and the generous social hour and free barista coffee each day.

Our nine-night stay at Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo in July was exceptional from beginning to end. We traveled as a family with our seven-year-old son, and from the moment our car pulled up to the hotel, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and treated like royalty, but always in that wonderfully friendly, approachable, and distinctly Kimpton way.

What impressed us most was the team. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted with smiles, kindness, and a sincere willingness to help. Saying that the team was attentive would be an understatement. They genuinely wanted to make our experience easier, more comfortable, and more memorable.

The attention given to our son was especially meaningful. Every time we entered or left the hotel, the team made a point of speaking with him and asking about his day. Over the course of our stay, he became so comfortable with everyone that he would walk directly to the front desk to tell the team where we had been and what he had done that day. Those interactions were never forced or transactional. They were natural, warm, and heartfelt. As parents, seeing our child feel so welcomed made the hotel feel less like a place we were staying and more like our home in Tokyo.

We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome amenity prepared for our son. It was charming, age-appropriate, and another example of how the hotel understands that younger travelers are guests too.

The design of Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo is outstanding. The décor is stylish, creative, and perfectly suited to a luxury lifestyle hotel. Every area felt thoughtfully designed, well maintained, and cared for. There is personality throughout the property, yet it remains comfortable and inviting rather than overly formal.

Our room was equally impressive. The technology, functionality, and ease of getting things done exceeded what we typically expect from a hotel room. Everything was intuitive and convenient. Earplugs were thoughtfully provided, but we never needed them. Despite being in the heart of one of Tokyo’s busiest districts, we were never disturbed by outside noise. The windows did an excellent job of keeping the room peaceful and quiet.

The location was perfect for our family. We were within walking distance of a major park, numerous restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and the famous Shinjuku Station. From there, we could travel to virtually any part of Tokyo with ease. Even our journey to Tokyo Disney was straightforward and manageable. The location gave us the energy and convenience of Shinjuku while still providing a comfortable retreat at the end of each day.

The hotel’s food and beverage offerings were another major highlight. The restaurant served excellent food, and breakfast was truly beyond five-star service. The breakfast team was among the friendliest and most welcoming we encountered anywhere during our travels. They remembered us, engaged with our son, and consistently started our mornings on a positive note.

The café on the lobby level was also a wonderful convenience. After returning from a day of exploring Tokyo, it was the perfect place to enjoy a coffee drink and a delicious treat before heading back to our room. It added another comfortable and social element to the hotel experience.

After 10 days, we were genuinely sad to leave. There was still much more of Japan for us to explore, but Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo had become a place we looked forward to returning to each evening.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Strong leadership is clearly present throughout the property. It is reflected in the cleanliness, attention to detail, consistency of service, and, most importantly, the positive attitude of a team that genuinely enjoys helping its guests.

Luxury can be found in beautiful rooms and impressive surroundings, but true hospitality is found in how a hotel makes people feel. Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo made our entire family feel recognized, welcomed, and cared for.

Bill Kimpton would be very proud of this hotel and the remarkable team representing his legacy in Tokyo. We look forward to returning.

Everything was amazing, rooms, atmosphere, location, breakfast, but mostly the service is what stood out. 100/10

The rooms were clean and the beds were super comfortable. Staff were helpful . Delicious breakfast. We did not take advantage of the daily free happy hour. Nice amenities including a gym open 24 hours a day. Convenient location short walk to an entrance to the Shinjuku train station. We would stay here again.

Ideally located hotel in quieter area but only 5 minute walk to an entrance to Shinjuku Station, best station to connect anywhere in Tokyo. Hotel is lovely, with a calm, serene atmosphere to come back to after a bustling day in Tokyo. Rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious, by Tokyo standards, with views across the city. Food was excellent and we particularly enjoyed our afternoon tea.

We recently spent three weeks traveling through Japan, staying in several different hotels, and this was, without a doubt, our best stay. From start to finish, everything felt truly luxurious.
The room was beautiful, featuring a great design and an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness. We also absolutely loved the toiletries—the scent of the wash gel, shampoo, and body lotion was amazing!
What really sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff. They were professional, incredibly friendly, and so considerate throughout our entire stay. They went above and beyond for us, preparing lovely little surprises for our anniversary and birthdays. They were also incredibly helpful with a personal issue we had regarding lost and found items at a previous hotel; they took care of us so well, and we truly appreciated their support.
The "social hour" is such a cute and welcoming idea, and the hotel’s location is perfect for those who enjoy shopping and nightlife.
We felt so well looked after during our time here. Thank you so much for making our stay so special—we cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Our experience at the Kimpton was pure luxury and personalized hospitality from start to finish. Check-in was seamless with bags waiting in our rooms by us. Our suite was spacious and beautifully decorated with unexpected pampering such as a walk in closet and beautiful large bathtub and rainforest shower. Breakfast at the District is absolutely delicious. The staff was really thoughtful and helpful and made us feel well taken care of. It was easy to explore Tokyo from the central location too. I rarely leave a review but we truly enjoyed the Kimpton.

Wonderful stay in Shinjuku! Staff were very professional and provided excellent service and the restaurants here are very worth visiting for breakfast and dinner. Rooms are clean and spacious for Tokyo and the hotel is about a ten minute walk from Shinjuku station.

Excellent service, comfortable bed, clean, and much more spacious than any room we’ve had in Tokyo! Also walkable from Shinjuku station without all the noise of being in the middle of it. A perfect balance. It is worth it to add breakfast package- it was convenient and delicious!

This is a very good hotel. At this grade of hotel there is an expectation of well-appointed and maintained rooms and facilities. The Kimpton Shinjuku doesn’t disappoint, with its designer features providing that new look and feel. The real standout feature to us however was the quality of the staff, and their general attitude and a culture that results excellent service. Whilst there is no Club Lounge the nightly cocktail hour filled that gap and also provided the opportunity to interact with management and staff. We particularly enjoyed these exchanges which also extended to other areas of the hotel such as the front desk, concierge, restaurants and cleaning staff. We particularly would like to thank Antoine, Sora, Gagan, Lax, Kohei, Haruka and Michi for making this a memorable stay.

This was my third stay at Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo, and it certainly won’t be my last.

I’m a big fan of the Kimpton brand, and after staying at several Kimpton hotels, I can confidently say this is one of my favorites. The hotel has a great atmosphere, beautiful design, and an excellent location, but what truly makes it stand out is the people.

The service here is consistently outstanding. I’d especially like to thank the breakfast team and the staff on the 16th floor during Social Hour. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making every guest feel comfortable. They always greeted us with a smile and were happy to help with anything we needed, making every evening feel special.

It’s rare to find a hotel that maintains such a high standard of service even after multiple visits, but Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo continues to exceed my expectations every time. I highly recommend it, and I already look forward to my next stay.

Boutique hotel, first class amenities, excellent service, courteous staff. Wishes for two things.
1. A swimming pool
2. No dogs at social gatherings. I like dogs but it’s annoying to have the little yapping dogs around, fighting each other and spoiling my wine time .

Nestled in the heart of Tokyo, this fabulous hotel gave off the wonderful vibe of this fast-paced city. Though not as spacious as some accommodations, it was well-appointed with lots of travelers needs. It is always a great bargain not to use any of the toiletries you bring when your hotel has high end items available for your daily use. Tremendous benefit that makes it easier to travel light and economically. The hotel also features included breakfast with room package so look forward to that fancy cup of Joe each morning! Each evening also features a rooftop social hour overlooking a beautiful park.
