It was pleasant and staff were really friendly
Pros:

Unique building. Loved the character and location. It was a comfortable stay.

Cons:

The shower. It’s sprayed everywhere without a proper shower head attachment. And no heat thermostat or fan/extractor to keep the bathroom steam/moisture free

Perfect location for a low-key weekend, easily walkable to lots of destinations.
Pros:

Location of the cottage was perfect for exploring James Bay and Victoria by foot. The rooms were spacious and well equipped with all necessities. The home itself was also quite large and again, all things that would be needed were provided (i.e., kitchen utensils, plates, cups, baking needs, etc.). Parking for 1-2 vehicles readily available.

Alright for price but a fair walk downtown - inconvenient
Pros:

Restaurant and a pub onsite. Furniture interesting and quirky. Quiet location

Cons:

Stairs- no lift no tea/coffee facilities in room. Carpets stairs smelled like old urine.

Pros:

Close to Beacon Hill, water and downtown. Staff was so friendly and we were able to leave bags after checkout so we could wander unencumbered before our ferry departure.

The room I had on Level 2 ( I was on Level 3) was noisy..li could not leave the window open at night.

The staff! Heddy and the staff make the James Bay Inn!
Pros:

We live it at the James Bay Inn. It has a fun vibe and the room costs are affordable. It really is the staff that make it. Every time I have stayed there the staff have been like old friends, kind, amusing and welcoming.
We have had nicer rooms in the past but every room there offers something different and always clean, and charming.
