It’s OK
Pros:

Chose Avania based on previous TripAdvisor reviews and stay was fine for the most part. Here’s the pros and cons:
Pros: - 1) Location is about 2 blocks off the beaches which is a short walk.
2) Breakfast/coffee was minimal but adequate with other breakfast restaurants not too far.
3) Room was nice size with large comfortable king bed.
4) Easy walk to State Street and Downtown restaurants and shopping.
5) Easy parking/Staff was friendly.
Cons: - 1) Room was on 1st level and seemed very dark and needed some TLC (torn curtain, scratched tv screen, some paint loss in places). Not sure if upper room would have been better.
2) No hot water (only warm) one morning but next day fine.
3) Bathroom layout is a bit awkward with the sink across the hallway from the toilet and shower and very little space to hang clothes (due to being right next to bathroom sink).
4) I’m sure it has to do with Santa Barbara area but rate seemed a bit high for what is in reality a motel room.

Based on cost and location we may return but then again there are a lot of other places on SB to explore.

Awesome Aviana Front Desk Staff
Pros:

We had a wonderful experience at Aviana in Santa Barbara, thanks in large part to Edwin at the front desk. He was incredibly thoughtful, professional, and genuinely kind throughout our stay. His attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond made us feel truly welcomed. It’s clear he takes pride in providing excellent service, and it made a lasting impression on us. Highly appreciated!

Overall hotel stay was okay
Pros:

The light continental breakfast and warm fresh cookies in the evening. Staff was attentive. The room spacious and clean.

Cons:

The gas leak smell on our first day and the luke warm shower on the last day.

Great spot, great hotel!
Pros:

The hotel is great!!

Convenient parking right outside the room.
Near to Santa Barbara main street and beach front (walkable distance).

Best surprise was the breakfast!
They advertise as no breakfast included as they don’t serve eggs/bacon but as we woke up the next morning found out they offer coffee, porridge, bakery items and a waffle maker for the guests to use. Nice touch.

One of the reasons we stay at Avania for our annual celebration was the excellent full breakfast. Now discontinued. A real loss of value.
Also the hot tub should be thoroughly cleaned and refurbished.
Doubtful that you will retain our business. Unfortunate.
