Staybridge Suites Chicago - Glenview by IHG

Great place for a long term stay. Happy hour 3 nights a week, free laundry and nice gym. Only complaint is the card entry on the side door is extremely difficult to use as the cover can not be opened fully..

The property could use a little freshening up. It’s run down however it’s clean, quiet and the rooms are generously sized. My king bed was really comfortable and the hot breakfast much appreciated.

The room was clean and everything else was good. The only issue was the noise from the room next to us all night.

Had trouble with door to room. No maid service for the first few days, then just put on do not disturb sign. Room had an odor.

The room was very clean, well appointed and had everything that we needed.
We especially liked the prairie area across from the hotel where we walked each evening. Very quiet and pleasant.

Happy hour was disappointing as there was no food left with 90 mins to go. Same problem with breakfast.

I was under duress in the airport after a flight was cancelled at the last minute. I searched for hotels available 'that night' and double-checked the dates of my search. However, when I finally booked the room, the dates were for the next day. I contacted Expedia immediately, but the hotel refused to refund even part of the money. This may be 'legal', but it lacks human decency. I will never stay at the Staybridge Suites.

Suite was nicely laid out with lots of kitchen essentials, beds were very comfortable with good quality bed linens

When we checked in the staff was slow to help us. We had booked two rooms and they told us they had no other availability. When we got to our room it was dirty and dingy. The couch looks like was bought in the 80s and has never been cleaned. There was mold on the walls and ceiling in the shower, and there were noticeable spots that were missed when they painted, or worse were now peeling. My husband needed to be seen for medical care nearby which is why we chose this hotel, and we were gone for most of the morning and would come back for him to rest in the afternoon. House keeping never came in the morning. So we weren’t able to have the room serviced our entire stay. Only one treadmill in the gym worked, and there was a line to use it. The other treadmill, bike and equipment was unusable. We booked through a third party so we were unable to check out and go to a different hotel, and the staff was unhelpful when we voiced concerns about the issues. They told us they couldn’t move rooms because they were fully booked, and refused to let us cancel.

We were happy to have a kitchenette and the breakfast was edible. Those were the only positive things about our stay. We will never go back to this hotel.

The room was very clean! I loved having an ice maker too! The staff was very helpful too. Highly recommend this hotel!

Loved the place i got a good sleep

I was looking for something more than half decent for staying with my family in our quick one day trip to Chicago, I chose to stay outside of downtown Chicago to be able to be in a good hotel. This hotel was not it, it wasn’t as bad as a motel but this is nowhere near a good hotel. This is just a regular holiday inn, the sofa bed was nasty and old full of stains, the bedroom beds were smaller than standard queen, the mattress was years old, I woke up with pain in my back due to the spring poking my back all night. Again, if you are in for a quick stay and you get it at a competitive price to holiday inn, then it’s great , but if you’re thinking this is anything remotely close to the Hilton, Marriot etc than it’s not even close.

Nice place

We have been staying in this hotel several times when traveling to Chicago. Nice and quite place to stay. This time, we were first given a room on the first floor, next to the bar and swimming pool. It was very loud. We were then asked to move to an upper-level room and the front desk then changed the room.
