Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Stockton, IL

Well folks felt it was time for an updated Review for this hotel. I looked at several reviews and it seemed a little dated to say the least. So if you have looked at the reviews they have a lot to say. Let's just say I played review bingo and will it all checked off. 1) Hot Tub is filled with concrete. 2) Elevator is still broken, note sign stating out of service since 2025. 3) Dirty towels 4) Staff missing for check in / check out. 5) Bed sheets dingy to say the least. The place needs to be reviewed and needs help.

First, I want to say that we stayed at this Hotel 3 years ago and it was nicer and cleaner at that time. This time was a one night stay and we were surprised at the condition of the property. The exterior had unkempt landscaping which would not be a huge issue by itself. However, the interior of the property had many issues. On checking in, we noted the out of order sign on the elevator. Later in the evening my husband went to get ice and saw out of order signs on the 2 vending machines, one was beverages and the other snacks. Both were empty. Many hall room doors had paint missing, like something had scratched or hit them. Inside our room; there was a smell of smoke or something else we couldn't identify, we reported it, but we didn't feel it was bad enough or worth changing rooms at that point. We did notify the desk staff. There was rusty looking grout around the toilet and tub, paint missing on part of the bathroom wall, one bedside outlet was not working (I was going to charge my phone), There was hair between the sink and the mirror on the counter. and some on the floor. The towels had stains, maybe they were permanent, but this is not something I have noticed elsewhere. The bed sheets appeared to be clean. The chair in the room was worn. Lastly the breakfast was very scaled back from our last visit and other hotel breakfasts. Nothing like the picture in the promotional material for the site.
We stay at other Country Inns and have not experienced this level of uncleanliness. I truly want this hotel to succeed as this is an area of Northern Illinois that is lacking in hotels.

Our stay on April 18th was a major disappointment. We chose this hotel specifically so our daughters could use the pool, but it was ice cold due to a power outage the previous night. Management never mentioned this at check-in, nor did they mention that the hotel had no hot water. After a 30-minute wait just to check in with only one person ahead of us, we weren't able to shower until hot water finally returned around 9:30 PM. Had we been told about these issues upon arrival, we would have gone elsewhere. We should have been given the option to cancel without penalty. Extremely poor communication and service.

Everything is broken. Evaluator is broken, pool is closed, vending machines are unplugged. I guess if you just need a place to stop and rest it would work but don’t expect much more.

The room was comfortable and quiet. Nice hot water in the shower. The staff was friendly, and the coffee at breakfast was outstanding! We stay there regularly and we're quite happy with it.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson is cozy hotel with inviting atmosphere, staff is very friendly, professional and polite.
Like the pool area and complimentary breakfast. Returning customer.

Staff was very attentive and quick to respond to our requests for my handicapped husband. Would definitely stay again.

I have to question whether any of the 10/10 ratings are legit. Elevator, ice machines and vending machine are out of order. Based on other reviews, it looks like these things have been broken for months. Landscaping looks bad. Weeds everywhere.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast options were good and plentiful. Room was clean and all items were in good working order. The bedding appeared slightly worn and needed refreshing. The Stockton option was nearly half the price for the same your would get in Galena and the extra drive is scenic and worth it for the savings.

This hotel has great bed and great water pressure, but the elevator, ice machine and vending machines were all out of order. Exterior of the building looks tired and landscaping was pretty dead looking.

Friendly staff. Could use some updating. The biggest issues was there was a lot of broken equipment (elevator and ice machine).

The property was ok. Clean but not somewhere I’d want to stay for more than a night. Bathroom was eh and the water was either too hard or too soft and wouldn’t rinse anything off.

Very clean and comfortable. Close to all the bars and restaurants.

Grass is overgrown, looks like it hasn’t been cut for weeks. The picture is misleading of the outside appearance. The railing is gone from the front and the concrete is lifted where it was located so it is a trip hazard. Outside maintenance is poor, needing cleaning and paint. Inside lobby is clean. Elevator is out of order, vending machine is empty. Breakfast food was cold, cereal stale. Good coffee and juice, but that is about it. Room clean. No safety handles in shower and tub extremely slippery. Bathroom door would not shut all the way. Limited TV channels. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone until improvements are made.

Hotel room smelled like urine. Nobody at front desk upon entering. Just a phone that said dial 0. Ice machine, vending machines, elevator did not work. No cookies, not that I need them. Grass needs cut, all kinds of weeds. Breakfast sucked. Tv is terrible.

Elevator was broken / we had a 2nd floor room ... ice machine was broken ... pool area bathroom was disgusting looks like it hasn't been cleaned ever.. place looks like the owners aren't attempting to keep up with maintenance
