Good property with very good staff
Pros:

I want to specially mention Saquib from the front desk who went above and beyond to make my stay extremely comfortable. He upgraded me to a better room and ensured that I am comfortable throughout the stay. I have always preferred Taj or Marriott for my stays in Kolkata each time. But this has changed after my recent stay in ITC Sonar.

Complet waste of money
Pros:

except the rooms , nothing was there to like . I did not had breakfast inspit of being at the resturant . The service was very poor . I waited for half and hour for my ordered breakfast to arrive and left , that too when the resturant was empty barely 5-7 guests were there .

Cons:

As I said above the service at your breakfast resturant was pathetic.

Sonar all the way!
Pros:

Always a positive experience, and the hotel compensates for any shortcomings with their courteous manner. The food and staff are very welcoming. During your stay, look for Swagat in house keeping; he's a great and helpful person. If you're using their taxi service, ask for Shanto Das and Ganesh Sah. At the management level, Amir is very helpful and ensures you get the solutions you need. I would say this is the best experience in Kolkata, even surpassing its sister hotel right next door, mainly because the rooms at Sonar are better designed.

Responsible Luxury
Pros:

An absolute pleasure to stay at ITC Sonar in Kolkata as one can feel responsible luxury. The staff right from entering the hotel lobby till your check out is simply superb. And definitely the food is just awesome every time we step into any of the signature restaurants like Dum Phukt , Peswari or Ed n Pavilion.
