St. Pete Beach Suites

I’m honestly surprised this hotel has such high ratings. The only real positive is that it’s within easy walking distance of the beach, which is convenient.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue is the lack of soundproofing between rooms. We stayed in room 603, and if someone is in room 602 you can hear absolutely everything. Footsteps on the interior stairs, conversations, music, chairs sliding, furniture moving, and every time the neighboring guests come and go. It’s particularly disruptive late at night when people return after being out. What made it clear this wasn’t just one inconsiderate group is that it happened with two different parties during our stay. The walls and floors simply do not block sound at all.

Another frustration is the lack of onsite staff. The office is rarely staffed, and if you need assistance you’re expected to text someone rather than speak with someone in person.

There is also no housekeeping service. Guests are directed to a cabinet to retrieve their own supplies such as toilet paper and towels, which was poorly stocked during our stay.

Finally, the property itself feels quite old, dated, and not especially clean.

Aside from the convenient location near the beach, the experience was disappointing overall and not relaxing. Unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again.

This place appears to have great reviews. I beg to differ. First.. be aware that there is no one at the office on weekends. If you check in on the weekend you will pick up your key from a lock box and contact the office by your phone.
Second, there is often a person available weekends but start time to finish is not predictable.
Third. the suites all vary. Our first night was unanticipated due to weather so we were in a studio. Though it had a tiny stove and sink there was no bar or hook in the bathroom for a towel and no closet! Good luck to anyone booking that for a longer period.
In our one bedroom, it was separated from the main area by glassed in french doors. The coating on the glass was scratched so any light from the other rooms also entered the bedroom. Outdoor lights at night hung right outside the bedroom. With shades but no curtains, the light also entered the bedroom making it a twilight room - not dark.
While management is responsive it appears not to be pro-active. We could not open the bathroom window as it was broken. It was broken from the time we checked in.
We brought it to attention of management but it was over a week till it was repaired.
No one seems to check the suites when people check out to proactively maintain excellence in the place.
This is an older building and somewhat sprawling. At the end of the plumbing line we never had more than 5 minutes of hot water and that was even very early in the morning.
Wifi- blinks on and off.
All in all, while it is a short walk from the beach, you can do better.

Facilities is very well maintained. Housekeeping staff is excellent. Kevin was very accommodating whenever we asked for anything. Lori at the front desk is pleasant, helpful, and excellent at what she does. We did have a minor issue which the property resolved immediately much to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend this for your next vacation.

The room is very clean. It’s has a great odor smell. The hotel staff Amanda is super friendly. It’s very convenient to walk to the beach.

We loved our stay at St. Pete Beach Suites. The room was the perfect size, the location was wonderful. We really appreciated all of the free amenities like the games, beach cart, umbrella etc.

Clean, recently remodeled, close to beach. The resort has everything you’d have at home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I accidentally booked the wrong date and they were very helpful at making the change. Looking forward to staying there again. The beach is close by and there are good food options within walking distance and a grocery store around the corner.
