The Hotel is beautiful, fantastic scenery and the staff were AMAZING
The breakfast food could have had more of a variety
La ubicación, la vista en si todo excelente
We have stayed in this hotel every year from 2019 except for covid we go twice a year the staff are exceptional it is not the type of hotel if you want modern it is very Italian food is good it is very clean rooms are cleaned every day it is a long walk to sorrento but has a coach that takes you and picks you up the train station is close there is lots of places to visit we cannot express how helpful and cheerful the staff are they go out of there way with all customers we have made friends for life and cannot wait to go again in June we are a couple in our 70 but still live life to the full great disco night barbecue night and 4 days a week there is entertainment
Booked here with Jet2 for 35th wedding anniversary. Paid extra for a mountain or garden view. On arrival allocated a ground floor room . The door was open on arrival. The room was being aired as had a damp musty smell. Opened the doors to let air in and view was of a fire escape. Room had damp and mould up the walls and headboard. Could pat the headboard and dusty mould would atomize into the air . Totally uninhabitable. Went to reception and told no rooms available. Offered to pay more but hotel was full. Reception staff said no upgrade for a view had been received from Jet2. Contacted Jet 2 24/7 . Told help on way . Sat in reception waiting for rep for hour .Awfully stressful. The reception management arrived said they did have more rooms! We were so relieved but then and offered us the room next door which was equally as damp and smelly or one on 3rd floor that had a derelict building within two meters blocking the outlook. We couldn’t live in that for ten days. I said we’d pay more but they said they had nothing else.
Still no sign of help from jet 2 so constantly trying the 24/7 number. Was offered flight home next day but would have to pay for flights and taxis but needed a room for night. After being in an untenable situation and in reception for several hours into the evening, . We ended up finding a place to decant too for the night and got a taxi there.
The Jet 2 in resort team finally rang. Said they had been to the suppliers no other rooms in the Naples area and even if there had been I’d have to pay over a 1000 euros extra.
The in resort manager rang next day and said if we did not return to La Pace we had broken our contract. I asked if there were any other rooms than the ones shown but no . Obviously we couldn’t stay there so declined. And that was the end of Jet 2s support.
We paid out a large amount to stay in alternative accommodation but struggled to enjoy the holiday as much after such turmoil.
On return I complained and was offered a voucher for Jet 2 holidays and my upgraded fee back .
Only now has the case been settled by an arbitration process in our favor.
A long and difficult experience made totally worse by the provider .
Lovely hotel : on arrival from reception, wow what a beautiful reception area , so many seats and very spacious, there have marble floors and the staircase leading to the other levels ,with elevators, we went to our room.
Our room :
That was very basic and a small economy one , you get what you pay for , the only window we had was small and looked onto the back alley so there for no real sun light shining in , was enuf for what we needed , although earlier morning like other reviews mentioned yes you can hear the kitchen staff talking ,sining to the radio and sometimes getting told off , bathroom with shower , tv in room, safe , wardrobes etc we stayed for 11 nights .
The hotel: the hotel itself had some areas that where out dated but makes it unique,it does have some very beautiful features and decor when you take the time to look around , the gym free to use , sauna and showers you can use aswell , also on checking out if your flight is a late one you can leave your things in a room provided and freshen up using the shower rooms etc .
Food was always lovey and plenty full depends on what you like really pasta n pizza dishes etc meats dishes lots to choose from . Some days are themed and the odd evening which yes they have dancers on, and tables get full quicky .
Bar staff are always busy and do their best to accommodate everyone and are friendly, really nice people
The pool : lovely pool to cool off in when the weather's hot , I will say the pool itself has different levels and you use the steps at different levels that can be dangerous due to no other coloured tiles to show this , there had been a few accidents while we where there, maybe to look into upgrading the steps so people can actually see what they are doing . Other than that, the sun beds are good with the added sun viser on it that you can move to suit you while you sunbath .
A really lovely hotel and staff are brilliant and friendly . We originally booked this hotel for 2020 but due to covid couldn't go , so eventually, we got there July 2025 and had an amazing time, so thankyou . One day, we would love to come back and visit x
Friendly staff who are always happy to help . Food nice and hot at opening time can be a bit cooler later . Disappointing no rose wine . Lots of people drinking spirits and cocktails because of this which costs the hotel more money . We are booked to return in May
The hotel is beautiful and kept exceptionally clean by the cleaning staff who work tirelessly to keep it that way. The entrance to the hotel is impressive with it's Murano glass chandelier and marble floors. The staff are wonderful nothing is too much trouble, check in was swift they retain one passport per room for a short while, given the Wi-Fi password and informed how much the tourist tax will be upon departure.
To avoid the steps with luggage I suggest you turn left at the end of reception desk and use the lift to floor 2 and cross the patio by the pool and then use the lift to your floor.
The rooms are a good size the beds are comfortable, there is a small fridge a litre bottle of water per day, there is a kettle and tea and coffee available (I suggest you take your tea bags) also it's sachets of dried milk. There are phone charging points on bedside locker. A shower over the bath with plenty hot water. There is a shaver plug, hair dryer along with soap etc rooms cleaned daily the air conditioning was free of charge but not needed in October.
The shuttle bus is invaluable but do be there promptly or you will miss it, ( suggest you take a photo of timetable) drops you at a central car park which is 2 minutes to the station for Pompeii you can buy train tickets, entrance and guided tour tickets from there. An easy walk into the centre of Sorrento watch out for the traffic.
The staff in the restaurant are pleasant and attentive, however the food doesn't live up to expectations there was always a roast meat, fresh pasta dishes every evening, some times the food needed to be hotter. There were fresh salads and fish ever night. Lunch was served around the pool with pizza, pasta, salads, fresh fruit and desserts available. I recommend the lemon ice cream it was delicious. Breakfast had all the basics cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit a chef cooks omelette to order, got to say we never went hungry. The local beer was Peroni all spirits were local brands, a choice of cocktails available.
We were informed before we went away of works taking place at the rear of the hotel, turned out to be right by our room while we where there It was one man with his hammer who sang beautifully.
An enjoyable stay.
Grand Hotel La Pace
Sant'Agnello
Disappointing. Purely for the efforts of the staff and the free shuttle bus, we'd grade it as a 3 star.
First, the positives. Reception staff are friendly, informative and helpful. Restaurant staff are very efficient and professional. Maids work hard and keep the rooms clean. Free shuttle bus is great for Sorrento and accessing the train for sightseeing.
Then the sad but honest, truth. Decor is tired. The carpets need a good scrub. Found the rooms dated and a little depressing. The pool is a small rooftop affair and there are no actual grounds for you to stroll around. The hotel is surrounded by delapidated buildings. Due to travel we missed the Saturday disco, but found the evening entertainment limited to people walking around your table playing a guitar at night or singing in the dingy 'velvet bar'. Although the other travellers were lovely to chat to, we found the evenings quite boring.
But honestly, the food is awful. Limited choice, poor quality, lukewarm, it would appear made as cheaply as possible. Meat is often on the bone, fatty and rubbery. My husband bravely fought a lamb chop one night to gain less than a teaspoon of meat! Soup and sauces are watery. Vegetarians have one choice in the evenings; usually pasta tubes in tomato sauce. There is no ice cream, no fresh juice, just diluted squosh or syrups, hence the cocktails are not authentic. Breakfast was the same every day, as was lunch. Lunch was usually margarita pizza, that was generally burnt with a 'spray on' tomato sauce, very little actual topping, fries and curled up white bread sandwiches with lumps of ham in mayo. Come on guys, this is Italy, we were expecting gastronomic delights and luxury! We enjoyed the trips every day and spent as little time as possible in the hotel but as we'd paid A/I generally begrudge having to pay extra to keep eating out. Still, it's good if you're on a diet!
Sorry, not usually 'a complainer', but I cannot recommend this hotel..
The hotel’s location is ideal for popping in to Sorrento or St Agnello to either explore or to access public transport.
The scenery is wonderful. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples every morning from room 304!
We had told the hotel we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and a bottle of fizz was in our room on arrival. Desk staff were superb and never got tiered of our questions about the hotel or exploring the surrounding area.
We never had lunch or used the pool area but breakfast and dinner both had good choices and super friendly staff.
Our room was traditional, a good size and fabulous hot, powerful shower.
The spa was quaint with a lovely sauna, slightly dated but still good jacuzzi.
I’d say add some drawers for folded clothes to the rooms, remove the blue carpet up the stairs and perhaps a slightly bigger shuttle bus.
Overall a fantastic, fun week!
I write this review whilst still at the hotel. Walking into the hotel you get your first Wow!! The rooms are beautiful, very Italian inspired, clean bedding and towels every day and bottled water replenished, tea and coffee too.
Pool area is great, plenty of sunbeds and towels provided, the restaurant is beautiful, nothing to much trouble, the food is good, not a lot of choice but it was served well. Service good, the wine was not to my taste but there are other alternatives. Very quiet, no animation team which is a bonus , and a very handy hotel bus that takes you to Sorrento.
Some of the staff are nice others just rude, food is tepid at best but definitely always cold. The food selection is limited, and your only allowed two slices of meat. I would not feed my dog with the majority of food served in this hotel . We've eaten out five out of seven days .
DEFINITELY NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL , two star yes but not five.
Save your money and look for another hotel as then you won't be disappointed.
Couldn't fault hotel wow food was good something for anyone hotel was amazing staff was so friendly and helpful had a amazing time sad to go home
Staff friendly, food brilliant. Great position for seeing Sorrento, island of Capri, the Amalfi coast and Pompeii. Lovely clean rooms. Quirky decor, but great. One of the best hotels we have stayed at for food/friendliness. Has a daily, free shuttle bus that takes you to the town. Beautiful views from the pool area. Generous with the food and drink. Always plenty available. Saturday entertainment was great with the head waiter being the DJ. Like being at a wedding disco. 💃 Had a great holiday. Thank you all.

Read reviews and went with a open mind and didn't spend my holiday taking photos of things I didn't like, yes old traditional decor and yes it needs some renovations, the food is ok, not 5 star standard, and 1 night with in 1 hour of open only 1 meat item out of 4 was left, and it was not replenished , but I never went hungry ,wine was better , if you ask for yellow label, I had plenty of Pina coldas, had a couple of problems in bathroom but sorted straight away, the place is very clean, the staff is fantastic, the mini bus needs some work done as we was getting wet inside, but over all, we really enjoyed our time and rebooked for next year, bed was comfy, lovely and quite, had pool level which you need net closed as you are very looked in to, so rather have hill view next time, in October, no problem with sun beds, pool is cold, if bad weather, lunch is in side, towels in room for pool, entertainment, well , not our thing, use mini bus for town it also serves the other sister hotel so it gets very busy, the restaurant on the hill is lovely and the hotel will arrange pick up and drop free
We are currently in resort, 3 days in - I’m sat in the room right now whilst the hubby is suffering from gastrointestinal issues not surprisingly given food is constantly served at tepid temperatures and it seems we’re aren’t the only ones! I discarded meat at the first serving due to its temp, hubby didn’t and here we are ! rest of our holiday on hold for obvious reasons, so disappointed.
Just returned from a 10 day holiday to la grand hotel la pace n Sorrento, great location for excursions, wonderful views from the swimming pool, I didn’t go in the pool because the water was so cold, the hotel was very clean and tidy front deck staff very friendly and helpful. My room was cleaned and towels and bedding changed every day, food did really let the place down, food was mostly warm not hot and very basic, 7 o’clock dinner time and make sure you get there because once the food was gone it wasn’t refilled, I had turkey curry one lunch time and that night I was very ill and I was ill for two days after that I didn’t really eat at the hotel again
Should have done some homework regarding the location of the hotel as it was a bit far from the town centre. However, the shuttle bus provided a good service to and from town.
The general atmosphere in the hotel was friendly. Very helpful reception staff and a warm welcome from the restaurant staff but sadly the same could not be said about the bar staff whose personality, or lack of it was very obvious. Some work needed there.
The food was ok-ish. Plentiful but not always hot.
The rooms were clean although a bit dated. Not a four star I'm afraid.
