Pros:

Everything. However the hotel managers/owners were the best we have had anywhere in Sri Lanka. It was a very personal experience to stay there and be welcomed there.

Amazing Stay in Mirissa for a Couple or a Family
Pros:

The Hotel is located between the Parrot Island and the Coconut Tree Hill, the two "landmarks" of Mirissa. They had a good access to the Beach (and their own beach beds) as well as a pool with aview of the ocean. All the rooms had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Ocean, especially nice during a sunset. They were air conditioned, very comfortable and spacious. Everything was setup to a very high standard, quite thoughtout. The breakfast was amazing (with fresh fruits, toasts, eggs, jam, butter, tea/coffee), served by a smiling staff member. The owner was very welcoming and the adorable doggo at the reception was just heart warming! It was located at a walking distance to both landmarks and the town-center of Mirissa (including nice restaurants and bars). There was also parking space inside the hotel.

Cons:

Nothing against the hotel.
There was a surfing school/fisherman's hut and a pub/bar sharing the beach access area (since this is a public beach). They sometimes gave a certain vibe that could be uncomfortable to some.
Again, this is not on the Hotel, but has to do with the tourism driven activities in the area.

Perfect place for a beach holiday
Pros:

Great location! The view! Very welcoming hosts and staff! Great pool and a straight exit to the beach. Very close to many great restaurants, beach bars! On the one side Parrot rock on the other Coconut hill! Couldn’t have asked for more. AC in the room.

Cons:

If I have to say something- a bit warm in the bathroom. But that really dod not disturb much!

Pros:

BeachMirissa is in a great location, direct access to the beach and a short walk to “must see” locations such as coconut hill and turtle beach. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with a great view over the sea. The family who run the business are amazing, so accommodating, helpful and always checking in to make sure you’re having a good stay - the beautiful dog is an added bonus! The staff were also phenomenal, breakfast each morning was lovely and they remembered small details such as food and drink preferences , I’d definitely recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast! We loved it so much we booked to come back in December!

Schöner Aufenthalt in familiengeführtem Hotel
Pros:

Kleines familiengeführtes Hotel mit 10 Zimmern, alle sehr nett, schöner Pool (sehr warm), eigener kleiner Strandbereich mit eigenen Liegen und Auflagen, das Zimmer (angegeben bei Booking.com mit 19 m²) war deutlich größer, viele Restaurants sind fußläufig erreichbar, das Frühstück wurde serviert, war gut, aber lediglich Standard

Het uitzicht

Ik schrijf normaal gesproken geen negatieve reviews, maar in dit geval wil ik toch een eerlijke en gebalanceerde ervaring delen.

De locatie van het hotel is echt top en het uitzicht is prachtig, wat zeker een groot pluspunt is. Helaas doet de accommodatie zelf daar niet helemaal recht aan. Het geheel voelt wat verouderd en op meerdere plekken zou onderhoud en betere schoonmaak welkom zijn.

De sfeer in het hotel was voor ons niet helemaal prettig. Ook viel het op dat de eigenaren veel aanwezig waren in het restaurantgedeelte en hun personeel niet altijd even respectvol leken te behandelen, wat een wat ongemakkelijk gevoel gaf. Het personeel werkte heel hard en deed alles om iedereen op z'n gemak te laten voelen. Uitchecken om 8.30 uur leek niet mogelijk. Het personeel moest de eigenaren bellen en die bleken nog in bed te liggen.

Daarnaast was er een probleem met de kamer: bij aankomst hing er een sterke chemische geur. Na ventileren leek dit minder, maar het kwam weer terug. Uiteindelijk bleek dat er een geurblok was geplaatst om de geur te maskeren van de schimmel, wat voor irritatie aan keel en longen zorgde. Dat vonden wij niet passend voor een hotelkamer.

Al met al heeft deze plek zeker potentie dankzij de mooie ligging, maar er is wel wat aandacht nodig voor onderhoud en comfort om het verblijf echt prettig te maken.

While the stay was comfortable overall, it didn’t fully meet expectations. The pool is quite small, and the photos appear more flattering than the actual setup. Service was polite but could be more professional and attentive. Overall, it didn’t feel like the best value for the price, though it may suit those with simpler expectations.
