If you have to take a train to Xianbei (Xi’an north international railway) this hotel is the best.
Beautiful and is just to 10 minutes by car to the station
Poor management
This is hands down a fantastic hotel, with the well known standard of the IC-chain. I am a frequent traveler both for business and leisure and this was the best bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel, spacious and moden rooms, amazing breakfast, and much more. Unfortunately, there are some middle age men with large keychains in their belt that runs around -especially in the reception area - shouting loudly at each other and staff. Nothing more than what some hospitality training can correct. In addition the hotel has a large water mirror in the front so there are some mosquitos both outside and in public areas inside the hotel. An experience normally found in far cheaper establishments. But by all means: this hotel do a very decent job overall - and will deliver an excellent night’s sleep!

President Intercontinental Hotel at Xi An China, is an excellent hotel, it is an old hotel, very well maintained, with luxurious rooms, bathroom, very soft and comfortable bed linen, awesome view to the sports park in Xi An, reminds me Central Park in New York City and Reforma Ave. In Mexico City.

People mostly aren't aware that this chain of hotels began as one of the most legendary airlines in history, Pan Am. Juan Trippe, legendary enemy of Howard Hughes, still remains with us today in the presence of Intercontinental Hotels. I've stayed with them in the Willard Hotel that they painstakingly restored in Washington, D.C. and in a wonderful twist, I now stay with Intercontinental again, in Xi'an, for China's National Week. The service has been attentive, the room expansive, and the food full of local flavor and craft and care. I would recommend their places here to anyone at any time. They truly stretch across continents these days, not just across the Americas.
Had an excellent stay at the Intercontinental with interconnected rooms for 5 (suite to.a twin plus 1)
Staff was excellent and Executive lounge access had a good variety.
Location was perfect next to a huge mall with plenty of food choices
Buffer breakfast had a large variety of Chinese and western choices
Rooms were clean and well maintained.
Excellent hotel all round. they recognised our IHG Ambassador membership and upgraded us to a Junior Suite. The Cub InterContinental was really spacious, modern, the evening cocktail service was above average, staff friendly and spoke good English. The Gym was small but functional, did not use other facilities this time as only stayed one night n transit to another city. The rooms are modern and spacious. We had breakfast in the main restaurant, had one of the best eggs benedict! Overall, a great hotel, highly recommended.
安靜整潔環境,附近也很方便,有捷運和商場,可惜入住期間遇到幾晚有人抽菸,透過空調傳到房內,空調關掉後,菸味久久未散,飯店對這點也無能為力!只能讓我們換房,換房之後還是有菸味,最後只能開窗關空調。早餐無變化,點了熱咖啡,送來都是溫咖啡,每次都要強調需要溫度高一點的咖啡!
The hotel is PERFECT.
The facility is beautiful and well-thought to match the history of Xi'an. The lobby is spacious with lots of seating space. The pull-up for the car is also large and never crowded. If you prefer subway, the station is easily walkable.
The best part of this hotel is the staff. I do not have enough vocabulary express how well Genral Manager Jimmy runs the hotel. He himself is a superman, but each hotel has their own ethics on how to deliver top-level service.
Front desk, lobby manager, and club lounge staff were excellent. My husband was especially impressed with how often the gym changing room was cleaned. I was also happily surprised about the level of maintenance of the swimming pool and the lockers. The level of professionalism extends from the GM to all of the staff.
I have stayed at numerous ihg hotels, including Intercontinental in North America, Europe, Asia, and of course, China. Ihg group hotels assure a certain level of quality, and we are never disappointed. However, I would confidently say this is one of the BEST RUN hotels among ihg group.
We would definitely stay again and would recommend this to everyone and anyone we know as the TOP 1 hotel in Xi'an!
I checked in ard lunch time. I left my luggage there and went out for lunch. After I m back,the room was ready but I still need to carry my luggage to my room. I would have expected my luggage is in my room when it is ready.
There is no service for the breakfast. Tea pots were empty and i need to send the tea pot to kitchen myself for hot water. I cannot find anyone to help. People wearing in blue and white uniform said they only do cleaning job and i need to find a waiter then walked away. Buy where is the guy?!
I am trying to take one or two breads for my 4-year old son (we planned to visit Hua shan so I would like get a few breads in case he gets hungury). I asked someone to see if i can get a box but i wad told i cannot do that unless i paid for one extra breakfast. Well done!
Everyone,from toilet ayi to swimming poor staff are looking at their cellphone almost all the time.
This is a well decorated but poorly managed hotel and thats why i seldom chose IHG for my stays

A outwardly looking high quality hotel. But staff inability to use their pos units to process prepayments on my western credit cards, lack of communication soured the experience. They are not trained to take preauthorisation on international Visa cards which require a pin code. It is always embarrassing when your cards don’t work. Later my card company said my card was fine and the problem was the way the receptionist was putting the transaction through. a second attempt to sort the problem out on day two seemed to be successful and people were all smiles. But in fact they had only succeeded in prepaying a room extension I needed. Later that night at 11pm I was back down to pay for a room service snack because they had still not taken a deposit.
The staff are polite and professional but lack some empathy and flexibility to deal with such situations.
The major reason why I would choose Intercontinental rather than other competitor luxury hotel brands, is that I can feel both LUXURY and WARM from it.
And, during my multiple stays happened in the whole of last year, I am glad to witness that the Intercontinental Xi'an North, just a case in point to demonstrate this virtue, is keeping going well and gaining popularity among folks. And I believe the powerful and efficient management from top to bottom is not the only cause behind ...
When you enter the lobby, someone will instantly inquire if any assistance is required, which you don't always experience at other hotels...
When you leave off your kid in the restaurant for a second during the breakfast, someone will instantly help to look after your baby for you in case you would worry about them, which you don't always experience at other hotels...
And when you feel tired, getting back into your room after a whole day of travel, you will be instantly touched by everything cleaned and tidied up, which you don't always experience at other hotels...
Literally, every little thing makes a difference, which is especially true when it comes to service industries. And every details in service mainly account for the whole experience and subjective feelings that a guest can tell. Once the first impression is well established, the virtue & reputation will be spread out from one to another, back and forth, and eventually a positive circle will be perfectly formed.
I see LUXURY from its interior design by the legendary CCD team, its facilities such as a Schindler elevator or a Duravit bathroom accessories, and its amenities such as a Dyson Hair Dryer or a Nespresso coffee machine.
Well I also feel WARM from every genuine smile on hotel staffs' faces, every appropriate turned-down service, and every delicately made Chinese cuisine.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Eva Wang, Ms. Amanda Li and Ms. Elaine Xiang from the Dept. of Front Office, who always offered me generous help whenever it is possible, and also Ms. Ella Guo from Dept. of F&B, who helped me a lot, especially when I tried and managed to host a small catering party for my friends.

I like the hotel not only because of the facilities or cleanliness or location. I like hotels when the staff knows what good customer service is. And I think their customer service here at InterContinental North Xian is excellent! They even upgraded my room king size bed with a nice view. Love it!
What a fabulous hotel & staff! Nothing was too much trouble & many spoke good English. Stayed there for a weeks vacation, very clean & comfortable as you’d expect.
We booked airport pickup & drop off which was professionally done by Dillon - very friendly & explained a lot about the city.
Our room had super views of the city, very clean & the attendant on our floor was very friendly.
They have a Grill restaurant on the top floor called Char - fabulous food & service; breakfast was on the 1st floor, great variety & freshness- super quality. Came 10mins late a couple times & the staff helped to get us what we wanted.
Kids had lunch at their buffet & thoroughly enjoyed the selection.
Executive Lounge was well appointed, lovely staff & nice happy hour arrangement. I had to spend time working there & always able to find a quiet spot.
We had our wedding anniversary during our stay & hadn’t told anyone. Concierge helped me to buy flowers on the day & later that evening housekeeping prepared a special turndown for us!! So surprised!
We met the General Manager, Jimmy Wang, several times as he was always around in the lobby. A clear sign of someone who cares greatly about their guests experience. He was extremely friendly & hospitable which shows in his staff.
All in all a wonderful stay & we will be back!
Albeit as a newly opened hotel, Daven at front desk was very diligent about hearing my ranting.
The main drawback is that the AC was too warm to someone coming from southern China.
The amenity was awesome, and TWG tea was beyond satisfaction. Furthermore, this property does honour IHG membership.
Regarding interior, the interior is fairly new and perfectly included the culture foundation of Ancient Xi'an City.
