Busy reception areas with too much happening for the one receptionist

I had a pretty amazing stay - the property is quite comfortable and the staff is quite helpful. The try to make you feel comfortable and genuinely care for you. I would also like to give a special shout out to a lovely lady named Julie for helping us during the stay :)

We had a celebration event in the Sala Room in February. The venue is special and it was beautifully configured.

We’ve been here a few times over the last year for family events and also dropped into the pub, and it’s been consistently disappointing. The front entrance gives a decent first impression, but the moment you’re inside it feels quite neglected. One lift has been out of order for months and the downstairs area outside the function room had dust and cobwebs around the place — not just a bit of mess, but the kind of dirt that builds up when a corner is ignored for ages.

The hall itself is nice enough from a distance, but you only have to look closely at the walls and edges to see how worn it is. At the Christmas event the food was mediocre and the service was painfully slow — we waited close to an hour between starter and main. Coffee was awful (tasted like instant) and, no exaggeration, the cutlery at our table was rusted. That shouldn’t happen anywhere.

We then tried the pub on a few occasions thinking maybe it was just an “event day” problem, but it wasn’t. Not much choice of drinks, and the food quality was poor: cold pie in the middle, no seasoning, and the lasagne and pizza tasted like frozen food. Charging £16.50 for that pizza (probably from Iceland next door) is hard to justify. On one visit they couldn’t even bring the table’s meals out together — two friends were left waiting while the rest of us ate for a good 10–15 minutes.

The frustrating part is the staff themselves were lovely. The asian barmaid was fantastic and the tall manager was charming and did his best to smooth things over. But the place needs real attention: cleaning, basic maintenance, and a serious look at the food and service standards.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spotless, beautifully arranged and very comfortable. Everything felt clean, fresh and well maintained.

What truly made the experience special was the staff. They were extremely polite, attentive and professional, always ready to help with a smile. You can really feel when people care about what they do, and here the service was exceptional.

I would like to especially thank Florame from reception. She was absolutely wonderful and very helpful through our stay

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I would definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and quality service.

Staff at check-in were friendly, although not much information was provided about the hotel or the room.

When we arrived, we found we had been given a family room instead of the executive room I had booked. At first this wasn’t a major concern, especially as we were only staying for one night and planned to spend most of our time out exploring the surrounding area.

There were, however, a few maintenance issues that caused some inconvenience. The room was very cold, and the air conditioning/heating unit was broken and had fallen off the wall. We were later able to use another unit, which helped. In the bathroom, the shower head was loose and came apart during use, spraying water everywhere. We managed to fix it ourselves, but the bath tap was also faulty and difficult to turn off.

During the night, the fire alarm went off at around 1:00am for about 10 minutes, then continued going on and off until roughly 2:30am, and was triggered again at around 4:00am, which did disrupt our sleep.

Overall, we wouldn’t say the stay was extremely disappointing given that we were only there for one night and spent very little time in the hotel.

These were simply a few issues that were inconvenient during our stay, and worth noting for improvement.

I have been staying at this wonderful hotel for almost a year now, working on various Projects in the London area, the staff are just wonderful and tend to all your needs, from breakfast in the morning with Lino-Matt who is always smiling and cannot do enough for you to Bartek and the front desk staff who always greet you with a wonderful hello and welcome back. Highly recommend a stay , rooms are very spacious and comfortable with lots of tea and coffee freshly replaced daily.

The stay was very good. It’s in a fun location, and everyone was very welcoming. Lino Joseph Matthew was very nice and the others who ran the breakfast were great each morning ! There is a nice open lounge when you come in that was a great spot to hang out.

I had a great experience the breakfast was excellent and the service was great as well. Lino was very friendly and helpful to us.
