Delightful and well-placed.
Pros:

Hotel Hanza is within a stone's throw of the Great Crane and the center of the old town, and right on the main canal. My room directly overlooked the main canal. When you walk out the door, you're two minutes from most of what you want to see in the old town.

The hotel is well-staffed and well-maintained. The morning breakfast is quite nice.

Cons:

The hotel's restaurant fronts directly onto the canal, and a busker spent much of ever afternoon and evening playing essentially underneath my windows. Fortunately, if I closed my window, that blocked nearly all the sound.

I like the location, right on the water front, with beautiful views of the Motlawa River, short walk from the Old Town, and plenty of restaurants and bars.

Cons:

Our room was facing the river and was quite noisy during the night. Unfortunately the windows are not double-glazed, so outside noise carries in easily, something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. Additionally, if you leave the window open during the day, smells from the kitchen downstairs can come into the room, which I found a bit unpleasant.
