Club Wyndham Kona

Seemed nice when we drove in. Things went downhill after that. We new they were redoing the units, but had been told everything would be completed the end on 2025. Remodeling has not been completed.

Sadly, we are in a unit with very loud construction going on all around us. The workers are very loud as is all the pounding. Also, this unit is on a parking lot. It does have a bit of view.

We booked this vacation almost a year ago and this, apparently, was the best they could do. I am unclear why they did not remodel by zones rather than be in the middle of a construction zone.

The remodeled units seem nice, but there is no storage. Absolutely no closet space. Which wouldn't be so bad if you could tuck suitcases under the bed.

The people who work here are really lovely and very hard working. I would give them a 5.

If you do book this property be sure to ask for a unit that is not in a parking lot. And not in a construction zone.

This was a great spot. The location was convenient to beautiful beaches, interesting cultural venues, and incredible restaurants. On site, there were two pools plus a hot tub. Our suite was spacious, with two comfortable bedrooms, laundry, kitchen, living room, and lovely deck. Everything we needed was there. The staff were welcoming and parking was convenient. We'd love to stay again!

Wonderful staff, clean, and updated unit and well-maintained common areas. Shoutout to Alvin, Sisa, and Albert for making our stay special. Always carrying a smile in their faces and quick to meet our requests. Shoutout to our bellhop as well. He is very nice and polite I forgot his name but he is a young hardworking Filipino. I took out one star for the location. It’s a little farther from the water and some units have the view of just the parking lot. We got the lower unit so maybe the second floor unit will have a better view of the beach, sunset, and sunrise. There is a bus trolley that goes up and down Alii Dr (Main Street) but it’s not always on time. You can use Uber or Lyft or walk but the main street can get busy and some part do not have an actual safe side walk for pedestrians. The place is a 2 bedroom unit with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer, living room, and lanai. We mostly prepared our own food but the nearest restaurant is about 2 miles or less away.

Pleasant environment and stay! Enjoyed a near by beach just a short drive south in the morning and pool in the afternoons.

The resort is beautiful. Close to shopping and restaurants. The room is a little dated but still nice. Plenty of parking. I have stayed at other properties and they had first come first serve for coolers/chairs/umbrellas etc. you just sign them out. They charge here, that’s fine, but I could have bought one for cheaper! Probably my only complaint

Loved the resort great location great staff awesome service. Very clean only issue we had was the parking police at night time didn’t have lights on an we almost backed into her. She also had a very bad attitude about her job. No personality but every other person was amazing. Very helpful and very respectful.

We traveled to the big island of Hawaii for 10 days and stayed the first 7 at the Club Wyndham resort. This is now my favorite unit I have ever stayed in and the overall resort was excellent as well. I think anyone would feel happy and at home at this destination. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the location is well placed to travel to destinations all over the island, relatively speaking. Enjoy your time there!

Nice woodsy feeling to unit as trimmed out in Kona wood or a dark wood which as cabin feeling, which we loved. I did walk to town about 1 mile but sidewalk area not very big and cars to travel fast along roadway so did not recommend for kids.

1st class resort
kona is a beautiful town with great shops and restaurants', there is a good deal on nice beach access near the resort

Only 2 day stay but Very beautiful and quiet rooms are well equipped and very spacious would definitely recommend a friend or family and would definitely come back to stay again! Thank you!!

Overall stay was ok. Condo was big and spacious. Clean and quiet. Conveniently located. Kitchen was well stocked. Bedding was nice, can’t speak to the pull out couch. Pools were nice and clean with lounges and tables. Has a small cooler and beach/pool towels stocked. But no chairs or umbrellas which was needed.
Staff checking in not the most welcoming, which was fine. Worst part was, before they give you the rooms keys, they make you go to “concierge”…where they then try and sign you up for a TIMESHARE meeting. They don’t take no for an answer. Had to say yes, sure we’ll go to the next meeting and then they proceed to call you that day and the next. He also kept going on and on and giving many pamphlets on island info and things to do as well. Which yes, is nice and all. If you ask for it. Which I didn’t. After a very long, early morning flight we just wanted our condo keys to relax and go get something to eat. He wasn’t listening. Expedia shouldn't allow you book timeshare sales pitch condos.

Loved the staff for their warm and caring response when interacting with guests but the facility is undergoing renovations and upgrading that caused continuous noise during the 2 weeks of our staff with no relief on weekends. Units after renovation are nice with furniture that are of nice quality. No cleaning service during stay. No WiFi either.

Setting was very Beautiful. Accommodations were nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Concierge was very helpful and informative. Book 3 trips through him.

Pros
The room was fantastic, the full kitchen and washer/dryer were great to have on long trips.
Bed was SO comfortable.
And it has a pool/BBQ centre close to all rooms

Cons -
The front desk worker Albert, I’ve had about 3-4 interactions with him, and he seems less than impressed, and very rude every time over simple requests or questions.

Wifi did not work, was told it doesn’t work in the rooms and to use it in the lobby….

Asked for them to remover or garbage bag, was told we need to take it to the bin, not normally a big deal, but we noticed this place is abit different and do not take garbage/check towels/make your bed. It’s more of a AirBNB style. We thought this was odd for the price.

Parking is a abit far if you come in the evenings it will be full and you’ll need to park further away.

Amazing property and centrally located

Beautiful place, comfortable beds and great customer service. They would bring things to your room quickly if needed including detergent and dish tabs. My only complaint is the immediate attempt at trying to get you to a time share presentation, when we declined it persist and when we shut it down completely the customer service from that person went cold.

Albert was amazing! I appreciated that he was able to get us checked in early so we could get ready for our nieces wedding. It was very much appreciated. All the staff was very friendly and the unit was clean comfortable and perfect for our family trip. Thank you Albert for all your hospitality.

We stayed here and found the apartment generous, the facilities good (we used the gym and swimming pools) and the staff very helpful. We had a problem with our rental car and the front desk were very attentive and helped us sort the problem out with Enterprise. Well sited too - good access to local attractions / shops and to the beach where Boogie boarding was invented - without being in the centre of Kona. There is a shuttle bus if you don't want to walk into Kona. Ample parking.
