Definitely not a 4 star
Pros:

Well the front of house staff aren’t friendly compared to anywhere else in Thailand.
They struggle to give the Thai good morning and avoid communication at all costs,And I have traveled around Thailand for close to two months.
The cleaning and massage staff are lovely and friendly.
Not enough cleaners and a few times rooms still not serviced till after 5 pm.
Resort on a very busy and noisy road so 80 percent of the rooms would hear-the road , and can it can be heard while at the pool.
Location of resort not in a great spot either have hire a scooter or ( 100 bht per person )jump on board one of the red Ute taxi to get to cheweng road.

Resort very old in need of renovations when it rains they drill more holes in ceilings to let water out.
Not a very clean resort as understaff in cleaners.
My shower would flood out on bathroom floor , did tell front desk and the manager a couple of times but no one was sent to fix the slow drainage issue .
Don’t expect staff to take orders around pool for drinks or food but will definitely bring the bill to you but you’ll have to chase them up for your change if paying with cash.
Staff very slow to clean up empty bottles and plates around pool area, sometimes left for hours.
Over all I would rate this place a 2 star at best don’t waste your money and valuable time.
First time I have written a bad review like this as usually like to find the good of something.

Special and memorable
Pros:

This resort is immaculate. The staff are amazing and accommodate wherever possible. The resort reception staff, special mention to James, were kind, helpful and full of life. The rooms are a great size and have spectacular views on the ocean. This resort has a great pool, a beach that is stunning and safe for all to swim in, an amazing breakfast selection and a restaurant with a wide variety of dishes that do not disappoint. I would come back here again in a flash, this resort has made my time in Koh Samui very special.

Family holiday
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay, despite being a little worried after some recent reviews.

1. The beach is great, love it and the pool is decent too, really relaxing.

2. Rooms - we stayed in a family two room suite and they were huge, so much space and in good condition. Yes there is some noise, but I’m can’t think of a hotel I’ve stayed in where that wasn’t the case. For us it certainly wasn’t a thing.

3. The staff - we have found to be really nice, friendly, welcoming - hard to reconcile our experience with some of the reviews. They are really helpful and friendly.

4. Food - breakfast is good always nice fresh fruit and a good mix of options, decent coffee too :) no complaints from our crew. For lunch and dinner we often went out:
A) there is a diner (Samui diner) around the corner and across the road which we loved
B) dr frogs up the hill was super nice, brilliant views and food definitely worth a visit
C) we often got lunch delivered via Grab, The Hungry Wolf was probably our favourite for general food
D) Local food markets are good options. The Si Khao night market was fantastic so many options at such low prices- a real experience

5. location - we didn’t have scooters so we’re reliant on taxis which add up over time. It was easy to get the local taxis back from town for 200 to 300 bhat for 4 of ua, but typically needed to get a taxi via Bolt (400 bhat) to get into town. It’s not easy to walk from as the roads don’t seem to be suited for pedestrians

Lovely place with great staff
Pros:

We visited the Bar & Restaurant area frequently when visiting the beach. The staff were amazing (even when having to contend with an arrogant & obnoxious wannabe YouTuber that didn't like being told they couldn't use the facilities as they were not staying there), they really could not do enough for you. The prices are reasonable and the food lovely. If we visit Koh Samui again, I would return here, and possibly look at staying at the hotel/resort.

A NIGHTMARE OF AGGRESSION, DECEIT, AND FILTH - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Pros:

Do not be fooled by the beautiful pictures of the beach. The location is the only positive thing about this place, and it is used as bait to lure you into what can only be described as one of the worst hotel experiences available in Thailand. My stay was so appalling that I feel it is my duty to share the details.

The single most shocking and unacceptable aspect of this hotel is the attitude of its staff. I have never encountered such a level of rudeness, aggression, and outright hostility in a place of hospitality. The staff, from the front desk to the groundskeepers, seem to operate under the bizarre and stressful assumption that every person on the property is an intruder who needs to be challenged.

The worst offender is a specific staff member who patrols the beach area like a belligerent guard. He does not recognize the hotel's own guests. On multiple occasions, we were aggressively stopped and interrogated by him when simply trying to walk from our sunbed back towards our room. We witnessed him physically grab and shout at other people, treating them with utter contempt. It is unacceptable and creates a constant feeling of tension and anxiety. You are a paying guest, yet you are made to feel like a trespasser in your own resort. This behavior is not just unprofessional; it is menacing.

The front desk staff are no better. They are arrogant, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. When we had issues with our room, they treated us as if we were an inconvenience. There is no "land of smiles" here, only cold stares and rude remarks.

Deceptive Booking Practices and Financial Scams

Our nightmare began at check-in. It seems to be a standard business practice for this hotel to engage in what I can only call a "bait-and-switch" scam. We, like many others who have reviewed this hotel, arrived to find that the room we had booked and paid for was "unavailable." Instead, they offered us a vastly inferior, dark, and noisy room right next to the main road. They then had the audacity to demand a significant extra payment to get a room that was even close to what we had originally booked. This is a deliberate, dishonest tactic.

Furthermore, be very careful with your bill. We were charged for minibar items we never consumed, and when we disputed it, we were met with suspicion and rudeness.

The hotel is completely dilapidated and disgustingly dirty. The photos online must have been taken decades ago.

Our room was dark, smelled of mold and sewage, and the furniture was old, scratched, and falling apart. The air conditioner was extremely loud and barely functioned. There are large gaps in the old wooden doors, allowing insects and lizards to enter freely.

The bathroom was a health hazard. There were old stains, rust on the fixtures, and a constant foul smell.

The "cleaning" is superficial at best. In our entire stay, the bed linens were never changed. Towels are old and threadbare. We even saw reports from other guests of finding blood and urine stains in their rooms upon check-in. The hallways and common areas are filthy.

There is zero soundproofing. You will hear everything from the loud traffic on the dangerous main road, and every single sound from your neighbors. It is impossible to get a peaceful night's sleep.

The management of this hotel should be ashamed. They are running a property that is not only physically falling apart but is also staffed by people who are actively hostile towards guests. The beautiful beach is a trap. You will be overcharged, treated with disrespect, subjected to aggressive behavior, and forced to stay in a filthy, run-down room.

Please, for your own sake, save your money and your sanity. Do not book a stay at the Impiana Resort Chaweng Noi. It will ruin your vacation. There are many other wonderful hotels in Koh Samui that will offer you the true Thai hospitality you are looking for. This place is the absolute opposite of that. AVOID!

Not Clean
Pros:

We stayed at this hotel for a week. If I had the option to cancel, I would have canceled this hotel on the first night. The room we were given was dirty, especially the bathroom and toilet. We asked to change rooms because it was night time, but they said we could change rooms tomorrow at 12 noon. We changed rooms tomorrow, the only difference was the view of the garden and pool. The room was small and full of ants. Breakfast was ordinary and the restaurant was very warm. The location of the hotel was far from everything. The area around the hotel was dark and it took ten minutes to walk to the nearest 7-Eleven. The only attraction of the hotel was the garden and pool area.

Pros:

Staff were great and the breakfast was good, the beach was quite nice also.
The rooms were in need of refurbishment and the bedding was not up to scratch. Maintenance appeared to be an issue from what I saw.
I would unfortunately not stay again given with conditions as they are.

Disappointed
Pros:

Unfortunately booked to stay here for one week
Absolutely nothing like the video of the hotel
The beach is dirty ,the sea rough during our stay
The rooms are basic and cleaning is extremely poor
Bed sheets not changed once during our stay !! Lucky if you had clean towels daily
I must add breakfast was good with plenty of variety
Most of the staff were extremely pleasant with the exception of one particular female who sat on the reception desk, she was on this morning when we checked out ,she was extremely rude and very unhelpful not the typical Thai temperament.
Pretty disillusioned with Koh samui there are a lot nicer islands
We travelled with friends ,when they checked in told the room they had booked and paid for not available!!disastrous start
Hence to say don’t waste your money here and do your research
We will not be returning!!!!!!

Don’t book
Pros:

Booked months ago and when we arrived our room was not ready and after waiting 40 mins the room we were shown to was not the room we had booked. We are still trying to get the room we booked hopefully for a weeks stay . Wish we hadn’t bothered after all the stress it’s caused.

Pros:

Nice setting overlythe beach and Gulf of Siam. Food at the restaurant was mostly very good, though a bit overpriced for the small servings. The room was ok, needs better maintenance, especythe bathroom which was 2 out of 5. Front desk staff were great. The beach furniture was mostly half broken, dirty and uncomfortable. The rest was ok.

Great
Pros:

Sue from Isle of Man.
Read a lot of negative reviews on this site and was worried what we would get. Yes the rooms are outdated but comfortable and clean. The resort was lovely directly onto the beach. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with extra beach towels and water etc. the whole place was lovely. Breakfast was great with large choice from fruit to cooked breakfast. We ate dinner in a few nights and the food was yummy and cheap. We had the app GRAB to book taxis and this was very useful as the hotel is away from the main nightlife and restaurants and was very reasonable fares. The beach was stunning but occasionally rough so you would need to be a confident swimmer but I guess it would depend on the weather. We had only two calm sea days.
All in all it was great. You get what you pay for and in our case it was £400 per person for two weeks. I miss it xxx

Never judge a hotel by the photo’s.
Pros:

The hotel isn’t too far from the central of Chaweng but you need a cab or other mode of transport to get there as it’s too far to walk. It’s located on a hill just around a bend on a busy main road so it makes it challenging to cross the busy road and flag transport down to get into town. We paid extra for a sea view and were on the top floor. There are no lifts so don’t stay here if you arn’t very fit as there are different levels throughout the hotel. The beds are very hard, although the hotel did provide mattress toppers when we asked which made it slightly better. The aircon is very noisey and we requested to be moved after 1 night as all you could hear was the bikes & traffic at all hours on the main road. The hotel were accomodating and moved us the next day. We were on the ground floor which was quieter. The beach is long but either side of the hotel is wasteland with rubbish, the beach isn’t that clean. The beach beds etc need updating. They clean the rooms daily however forgot on a couple of occasions but cleaned when asked. Breakfast is ok with Thai & European choices 5/10. Overall, the hotel is old and needs updating. The staff were all lovely but the hotel needs to lift its standards. We would not stay here again.

Holiday from hell
Pros:

What can I say! This has truly been the worst hotel we have ever been to. Staff arrogant and rude apart from bar staff, on arriving, safe did not work, had to be fixed waited over an hour for someone to come, then had shower and shower would not switch off had to be repaired, again waited over an hour whilst the water continuously flowing. The man had to go and get another man to help! The .Bathroom grubby and looked dirty! Room not cleaned, had to ask them to clean room and to give us fresh towels! Location not the best had to have taxi into town every day for food as food in hotel not up too much! Charged for water in our room, we had heavy rain, this then caused balcony to flood and the guy had to use a water pump to drain it. There was water coming into our room leaving puddles everywhere. Leaks in the reception area coming through light sockets! Absolutely shocking - do not think about visiting this hotel!!

Value for money, but badly maintained !
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and it’s been neglected since then. The bed is like a slab of concrete, and the room is in disrepair. I couldn’t even open the front door because it kept jamming. The bathroom was a disaster—the faucet was loose and splashed water everywhere. I was really disappointed with my stay. The only saving grace was the breakfast spread, and the warm friendly staff.

Pros:

We had booked four rooms for 10 people through expedia. When we arrived, the manager told us that we only had three rooms and for six people. He kept us waiting at night for 1.5 hours and asking for more money and at the end he very casually admitted his mistake. He treated us like we were thieves and ruined our night. He pretended not to have roll away beds.
One of the rooms that we got smelled like dead mice and one of the showers did not work. One room had a dead roach. Cleanliness was not up to par.
The hotel has a nice location in front of the beach and nice breakfast. If you can manage to get a room without smell, is a good bargain with great views.
The check in process was hell. Ruined the experience for us. Not a family friendly place. There are prostitutes on the property
My kids could not stand the smell amd wanted to leave immediately.
We checked out the next day and they refused to refund the rest of the stay. No one in this hotel cares about the guests.
