Driving Directions:
From North and South: leave the M6 motorway at junction 43, then take the A69 road signposted Carlisle City Center. Drive all the way towards city center and then take the left after Papa John's on to Cecil Street.
- From East: A69 road signposted Carlisle City Center. Follow all the way toward city center and then take the left just after Papa John's pizza onto Cecil Street.
Free parking, car park English Gate Plaza South is located at the back of the hotel, please use the postcode CA1 1NT , entrance via Portland Place or Cecil Street. Parking is free from arrival till 12 noon on the day of check out, the back door will lead you to the reception area, please inform staff at check in to register your vehicle.Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.

There was a good range of food at breakfast- options for full cooked breakfast and lighter, continental style, all well presented.

Location for the city centre for eating was good as there was a pub straight across the road from the hotel.

Perfectly located, right near the train station and close to nightlife and restaurants. It's very modern, well appointed and to high quality. Although the area was lively when I arrived late, the sound insulation is good and it's not so close to the nightclubs that they disturb you.
It was a little pricier than other options available, and for that I found the room fairly sparse of luxuries. Met my needs perfectly but charged a little more than I was expecting.

Noise levels till 4.30 am. Need more air con/sound proofing.
Excellent breakfast and hotel well placed for easy access to town
Hotel was a little tired, stained carpets, floor covering in bedrooms coming apart showing gaps and the beds were awful. Both of us hardly slept in four nights
